I had sat on my feelings for a while before I decided to leave a review. I was trying to get back into my daughter's life through Maple - my daughter had already been attending Maple for at least 1 year before this. On my first visit with Deana I was talked to like I was some abusive father that had no business trying to work some things through with her. I feel Deana got too close to my daughter and overprotective not allowing my side of the story to be heard or my feelings be considered. There were some dishonest things said that Deana believed from my daughter and I was never given the opportunity to give my side of things or to try and make things right...in fact it made things more difficult. Deana was required to ask her boss for advice and I was never truly heard. I was truly disappointed in this and today have some frustrations regarding the way Maple handled my situation. It's always best to hear both perspectives before making a judgment call and they didn't. I would hate for this to happen to another father trying to do the right thing as this wound has yet heal. read more

I have been associated with Maple Counseling Center for the last two years as I earn my hours towards marriage and family licensure. I couldn't have asked for a better placement to begin my career. The owner Destiny was warm and welcoming from day 1. She provided me a space to learn in addition to supervision where I received the perfect blend of nurture and critique. It was nice to be led by a person in the field who shows up as their authentic self combined with the necessary professionalism. Furthermore, at Maple I was afforded the experience of working with a wide range of clientele. Jennifer Jones has taught me the connection between body and emotions. Before seeing Jennifer I never noticed or payed attention to the butterflies in my stomach or my heart racing. I would just put them aside. Jennifer gave me tools to help me avert having a panic attack or fall in depression. Maple Counseling has been an overall excellent experience for my 10 year old son. Shane, our counselor, moved around his schedule to make space for us which started our experience off on a very good note. The office environment is very tranquil, calming, and comforting and my son feels very safe here. Shane has been a great match from my son, taking his sessions in new fun directions to help my son open up (chess, boxing!). All the therapist did was talk about her own marraige, her own financial goals, her husband's problems and how she was trying "to build an empire". When we told her how we were successfully getting along, she name-called, apparently trying to get us to argue. When I called her on it, she repeatedly did it again. read more

I'm not one to write a review but after the second attempt for my 16 year old to attend his Couseling session I figured someone else should be warned. My son was told last week to show up at 8 o'clock for his intake session we showed up at 7:45 to do the paper work mind you we live 30 minutes away. When we walked through the door the lady informed us that the therapist had left for the night. Pretty inconvenient and disrespectful to not let us know, I went ahead and scheduled for another appointment thinking maybe the therapist had some emergency. So today my son had his session at 3:00 he shows up and was told they need to reschedule for tonight at 7:00. Is this some kind of joke? Don't know to many 16 year olds willing to go to counseling but they just lost us as costumers. Shame on you! read more
