The owner Rashard assessed the situation and helped me understand what the project what it would look like. My situation was more complex, as the exterior portion required a zoom boom (type of lift). The project was supposed to be straightforward and take 2 days. Multiple problems arose, but outside of CommonWealth Renovations' control. The rental company delivered equipment to the wrong spot, causing long delays the first day work was to begin. Torrential downpour giving less time for them to finish the project. Soft ground causing the zoom boom to sink into the ground, rendering it immovable. The ruts in the ground from zoom boom then needing to be filled with soil. The project went over budget, primarily due to needing to rent the zoom boom for a third day and the cost of soil to fix ruts in the ground. Throughout all these challenges, Rashard and his team worked through the problems and finished the work, even in the pouring rain. Rashard came up with solutions and tried his best to reduce the cost as things piled up. He consistently kept me in the loop, informed me of what they were doing every step of the way, and requested my feedback. The finished product was of good quality and was exactly what I was looking for.

I received an estimate for my work within a week, but had to wait close to a month for the work. I called several times asking for a time line and again, the lady on the phone was rude and could not answer my questions. They finally come to do the work and yes they did lift the driveway, but the patching on the holes they drilled is so far off from my existing colours that it looks cheap and stands out like a sore thumb, in my opinion. The owner came to take a look and understood my disappointment but said there is nothing they can do now as they try their best to match existing. It is not even close to a match at all. I now have 33 polkadots on my driveway... Very unhappy even with a $200 discount offered. Regretting my decision to fix the driveway instead of replacing the whole thing.

I hired Viking this winter for clearing my driveway with a request of hand shovel only. I paid more for this service as it was manual labour! The reasons for this isn't had a new fence and gate across my driveway and there was a cross board holding the gates together which had a low clearance. They did not honour this and were using the truck with the plow on the front going up past the gate. Despite the use of the truck, they still didn't clean the driveway to any decent standard as tire ridges got bigger and bigger. Due to the subpar snow clearing, the tire ridges got to about four-five inches high. One night they took the truck up past the gate and ended up colliding with the gate overhead bar.... Which is what I didn't want happening and which is why I was paying extra for hand shovelling in the first place. That's not even the worst of it, they didn't even report it to me or advise that the collision had even happened!!! The only reason I knew was because they hit the fence so hard that my camera was knocked down off the bracket on the fence!! Damages: 1.) the over head bar is cracked and has shifted the gates to the point I can open the gate 2.) My camera fell and hit the ground and has since stopped working 3.) they knocked my solar lights off the fence and they have stopped working and they managed to shovel the glass up into the snow bank in the front yard. I contacted the company and received a call back from a Mat. He advised he was on vacation and had no knowledge. Eventually in a phone conversation Mat indicated that they did collide with my fence, however the employee looked at it and saw there was minimal damage and didn't feel the need to report it..... long story short... they agreed to replace the lights and camera. As for the fence, they would send out a contractor in the summer to evaluate the damages and they'd repair it. Well.... Both May and Ben have since stop all communication and they'd haven't repaired anything!! So now not only am I out the money for the snow removal. I have to pay to replace a camera, lights and fix my fence. The service prior to the collision was terrible. They are SOOO loud. They would shovel the front steps and manage to hit the railing every time waking the dogs. They usually shovel in the middle of the night around 1-4 in the morning. So this was terrible!! And then Of course they don't actually shovel properly so the driveway does build up and gets icy and rigid because of this! Please don't hire this company. They were unprofessional, non communicative and deceitful.

Gary (partner) at Talon offered me a respectful and reasonable quote during a time of high demand, when other companies' quotes had skyrocketed. The job was done in a very timely manner. The staff, including Chris (supervisor), were very hardworking, kind, and respectful to our family and the environment around them. At the end of the day, the site was cleaned up and left in good order for the next day. Gary, Chris, and staff were very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Bottom line - job well done.
