The biscuit was tasty and the tiny hash browns too but not worth $15. I can get a full breakfast in a more comfortable atmosphere for less. The service is friendly and they bring your food to the table (you bus the table yourself at the end but I am fine with that!). We love the coffee on tap here! I often order the Chicken strips, but I recently got the Chix and Waffles and it was delicious. the syrup was the best topping. The only complaint I have with Maple street is that their isn't always consistent with quality. Sometimes the chicken or the chips will come out burnt. Another concern is when they forget parts of the order, I often have to go back in. The employees are super nice, friendly, and respond quickly to any concerns. read more

Ordered breakfast for friends and I and did pick up. Everything seemed packed but would have been nice if they included straws and napkins in the sealed bag. We ordered two classic chicken biscuits, smash browns, the five & dime, and a sausage egg and cheese. We also got a maple latte and a sweet cold brew. The good: the biscuits were fantastic, sweet and flaky. I liked the sausage on my egg and sasauge and the eggs were perfectly cooked to order. The ok: the smash browns were nice but way too onion heavy and felt more like latkes than hashbrowns. The coffees felt strong but were incredibly sweet. The bad: the chicken used in the sandwiches was massive and definitely not very crispy. Its taste was OK but it was such a thick piece that it made the sandwich impossible to eat and the biscuit fell apart before you could have your first bite since the chicken was so large. It was a prime example of why bigger is not always better. Also the B2 jelly was so runny it made the whole experience so messy. read more

Went to the new Maple Street Biscuit Company for lunch on a Friday. I was impressed for a chain. I hope it stays at this level of service and food quality for the long haul. People were friendly and restaurant was clean, even being busy. The food was very good. I got the chicken and waffles. Chicken was crunchy and all of the food was hot. It was a very large serving that I could've easily shared with another person. I also got a biscuit, I love their biscuits. Hubby got the chicken and goat cheese biscuit. It was HUGE! He had to take it apart to eat it. He also got. Is hits and gravy. He was surprised at the portion given the picture on the menu was a smaller size. Not complaining, more warning it is a large serving. Their coffee was very good. Has a hint of maple but not overpowering at all. As mentioned earlier, hope the quality and service are maintained as they settle in. Also looking forward to finding this location on DoorDash eventually! read more

We went to Maple Biscuit on Hull Street, Midlothian yesterday and had the chicken bisquit to try before anything else. The biscuit was very good as well as the chicken. Would definitely go back to try other things on menu. Only downside was the music was loud and the know was broken to lower the volume. When you decide on a Saturday afternoon of retail therapy don't forget to add nourishment to your list. I made the mistake of not planning lunch and my stomach said, hunni.... We ain't have breakfast, stop playing! So off to get breakfast and can I say... great decision. I love the fact of plenty of parking and even the option of outdoor dining. I ordered the retro biscuit and coffee. But this wasn't any regular coffee it was maple flavored coffee. I was impressed due to the biscuit was nice & fluffy, chicken had a kick and well seasoned. Mixed Experience -- Biscuits Not What They Used to Be I've had a long history with this place, and it pains me to say that the biscuit magic seems to be fading. Service was perfectly fine, and the ambiance is still fun and inviting--but the place was noticeably empty today, and I couldn't help but wonder if others have noticed the same decline. When this spot first opened, I was blown away by their biscuits. Truly the best I'd ever had--soft, flavorful, with perfect texture. I was so obsessed I once bought a dozen and ate half in my car (yes, I'm mildly ashamed, but they were that good). Fast forward to today, and the experience just doesn't match up. Lately, every visit has brought a biscuit that's crispy on the outside and lacking that tender, flaky, "out of this world" quality that made me fall in love with them in the first place. The food here is pretty good. Up until today I have always ordered through DoorDash and had the food delivered to work or home. For the food to arrive through the transportation and still be tasty, I can imagine how delicious the food would be freshly delivered to my table. Today was the first day that I actually went inside to pick up my to go order. The restaurant is pretty small. I not a fan of small sized restaurants especially when you are picking up your to go order because I feel like I'm in the way. That's exactly what it felt like as I was waiting for my togo. If my order was ready by the estimated time quoted I wouldn't have to stand in the way. It was estimated to be ready at 11:16 and I received it at 11:23. Not too bad but not 5 star service. It's definitely a kid friendly place and I know personally the owners partner with a local elementary school and donate yummy food to the teachers and staff. I would definitely go back. And would recommend this place to others. The only negative is the small size with limited seating, and maybe a little extra wait on the Togo order. read more

Seating is not comfortable, it's all metal and wood straightback chairs. Table was dirty and uneven so it wobbled. No acoustics so sound carries and can be loud. Do not recommend. We recently visited the Maple Street Biscuit on hull street after multiple visits to the location in Midlothian. Upon entry there wasn't anywhere for my family to sit. There wasn't much dining space and the space that was provided was very tight. After placing our order about 5 minutes later two tables freed up. No one was available to wipe the tables in between customers. The young lady who came over to wipe the table for us was very friendly, but just used a soaked dirty rag to wipe off the tables. The table was left extremely wet. We had to grab paper towels to dry it off. Even after that we sat around still waiting for our food. We looked around and weren't the only ones. Many people waiting for their food had already finished their drinks. The scenery was basically a bunch of people waiting for food with empty glasses. When the food finally arrived, we received lukewarm food. My sausage, egg, and biscuit were lukewarm while the cheese wouldn't even melt because there was no temperature to it all. And to top it all many areas throughout the building was dirty and overflowing with trash. Instead of complaining and waiting even longer, we ate our food, left, and decided we wouldn't be back. Stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday - quite busy, but line moved fairly quick with two cashiers. Do not expect a full dining experience as this is more fast casual. You are given a number if dining in, from there you go and find an open seat or sit at a communal table and food will be brought to you. I ordered The Firebird (fried chicken, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato topped with in-house buffalo and ranch sauce) for myself and a Little Grace (half of a chocolate chip waffle with strawberries, powdered sugar and whipped cream) for my daughter. We probably waited about 15 minutes until our order arrived. My daughter loved her food, but I could not say the same about mine. I was completely underwhelmed with the presentation and taste, it did not reflect the menu description and menu photo. Was it still edible? Yes, the chicken itself was delicious and moist. The biscuit was alright. It was more of just a chicken biscuit with a very light buffalo sauce drizzle which can't even be seen in my photo. The restaurant is clean, the service was great. Any employee I came across was very polite, some I saw were actively pre-bussing tables to help keep it moving. I do plan to come back and try again at a later time. read more

Really had craving for a biscuit and gravy and remembered this place opened not too far from home. It wasn't too crowded when I got there and I placed my order quickly and was given a number to put on my table. Most of tables were full and the few open ones had numbers on them for orders. I found a spot at a larger table with another couple. As I was waiting for my order (which took a while) I noticed one of the girls delivering the food wasn't taking the numbers back with her. So all the tables that looked occupied were not. I sat for 30 mins waiting for my food and noticed several tables no one sat at. I moved to a smaller table and collected like 4 numbers to give back when I got my order. I also noticed that since there is no where for people to wait for carry out orders many folks sat at tables while waiting which prohibited sit down customers from having a table. My food finally came and it was good, not wow. It was a large portion for sure. I think it's overall ok but they need to fix some procedural things and perhaps make a bench or area for folks to wait for take out/carry out orders? read more

Y'all know we are not typically fans of chain establishments. Usually they all sell out to the pre-made and packaged food which has long lost the original flavor that built the brand. That is NOT the case at Maple Street these are scratch-made fantastic biscuits that are the base of nearly every meal they serve. The service has a pretty interesting twist, where when ordering your are asked where you would like to go on vacation or some other quip. Then when your order is ready whatever your answer was is how you are hailed. This can be especially fun when the people next to you have the same location in mind. Probably the only thing lacking in this place is that basically everything happens in one room, so I wouldn't go here if you're expecting a quiet / relaxing atmosphere, as you won't find it. I had The Squawking Goat; it's not for everyone because it has goat cheese and a pepper jelly, but it is so good together with the fried chicken breast and biscuit. Could be great, but was a mediocre experience. My biscuits and mushroom gravy came out cool which was frustrating because I could see my order sitting in the kitchen for several minutes ready to be served before anyone retrieved it to bring it to the table. When I asked them to reheat it, it took another ten minutes to get my food back. Also, the mushrooms were very chewy as if they were initially dehydrated and then rehydrated, but lacking sufficient moisture. There were several young employees working here which I have no problem with, but it was apparent that while they were all working, they were doing so in an unfocused manner. After the issues with my order, my husband went to the counter and pointed to his order that he could clearly see was ready and asked for it so it wouldn't come out cold like mine. The waitress said she'd bring it out once ready. I could then see her fumbling through receipts trying to figure out my husband's order and had to come back to our table to ask. After restating his order again, she went back to retrieve the same plate my husband had stated was his earlier. Employees definitely need more training on service quality and efficiency. read more

The Food was just bland. I was nervous to go at first since I'd seen some reviews say the food was cold, but we did not have that experience at all. We went at 9am and the food tasted fresh. However it had no flavor. I got the Farmer and my husband got the Five & Dime and we got a side of the Smashbrowns. The biscuit was pretty bland and as a southerner, I wasn't too satisfied with the texture either. The Farmer also has too much jelly on it so I ended up having to scrape some off. The chicken breast was cooked well and was crispy enough but again just not a lot of flavor. The smashbrowns were also bland, needed more salt and other seasoning. If you're looking for a good biscuit place in the RVA area I def rec you spend $2 extra dollars and go to the Fancy Biscuit, it's so much more flavorful there's really no comparison and is relatively the same price as Maple Street. read more

I indulged in all of them in equal parts: the Maple Tap, Dark Bark and Light Amber. The star of the meal was THE best Fried Green Tomatoes I have ever had the fortune to bite into. Cute restaurant. Mobbed when we got here. Opted for to-go because we were in a hurry. It took so long we had the chance to drink two full Togo cups of coffee - close to 45 minutes. I checked three times on the status, as we watched the majority of the restaurant clear out. Kept saying it wasn't ready. When the woman finally checked for our order, the kitchen told her they didn't have the ticket and it must've been delivered to the wrong table. The heavy female employee I dealt with all three times seemed annoyed I kept checking on my food.... Glad I did as we never would have gotten it. We placed an order for pick up on the yelp app. When you enter the restaurant, you will notice the dining area is spacious , and that everything looks new. There was no staff to help navigate if you order from your table, counter, or where to pick up the to-go food. We entered the line that was fairly long, which was expected given that it was during spring break. In addition, there was only one person taking orders. Behind the cashier was a team whipping up food in the kitchen. However, the foods were piling up and no food was being brought out to customers who were waiting at their table. At this point, we waited for about 15 minutes and the customer behind us decided to leave instead of waiting with her fussy toddler (which is understandable). Then I saw that there was another side of the kitchen that had an open window. I walked over and that's when I noticed my to-go order was there this whole time! So I quickly grabbed it and was on my way. Needless to say, the line did not move much still! For our food order: We got the "high stakes" that is a Country Fried Steak, covered in sausage gravy over 2 flaky biscuits. It tasted good and would order again. Ate here for breakfast at 715am . They are only open from 7am to 3pm. I have tried since they've opened but they have been so busy. It is a Wednesday morning so they are not. Restaurant is still very clean inside and out. A very comfortable setting. Associates have been very polite and helpful. It seems as though they are well staffed at this time. This is a "made to order" Restaurant so you will have to wait a bit for your order. Now that there are are so many food delivery companies and order pick up, restaurants have a bunch of orders all being made at thesame time, that consumers inside dont see. There has already been 4-5 third party pick up orders prepared as i waited. My receipt says 7:20am. I received my order at 7:45am. 25 mins seems too long for a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit. The biscuit is very good and flakey. Each item within the biscuit was done just right. Nothing has been "over the top" although it is all good. If I return, I will need to plan more time. read more

I like the vibe, and the service was great. I just don't care for the biscuits, and that seems important when your name is "Maple Street Biscuit Company." Their biscuits are dense and dry, which only sorta works for their gravy dishes. We tried biscuits and gravy, cinnamon biscuits, "fritaffles" and waffles. None of it was bad, but it wasn't great either - just okay. Gravy was very peppery - too peppery (and I love a good spice to my gravy!) "Smash browns" were lacking in the flavor department. And again - the dry, boring biscuits without a trace of butter or jelly to rescue them available in the establishment.
