However, at the last minute, I was told that they couldn't replace the battery and that I should visit a flagship store instead. This was extremely disappointing, especially after going through the process, including having my screen protector removed for testing, only for them to reapply it with fingerprints all over the screen. The correct procedure should have been to check if the battery was in stock before promising the service. This last-minute change of mind is not the way things should be handled, especially when customers are assured that the work will be done. I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt this needed to be shared. Very disappointed with the service.

Well, "just in case" happened last week when the sad, little hard drive on my Macbook Air failed. Nonplussed (because I back up regularly like a good little doobie and you should, too!), I walked on over to Londonmac. There I found informative and courteous service. Turnaround was quick and since I didn't have or need an appointment for service, I was well-impressed to get a call that my computer was ready the next day. Price-wise, labour was about £65/hour and while I'm sure I paid over the odds for the replacement hard drive, it was worth it. I think I could've got the drive cheaper online, but was I really going to a) wait for it to be delivered, b) be assured that the drive was from a reputable source, and c) find someone to install it? No, on all counts, especially since the last time I tried to take apart a Mac (just for kicks) all of the teeny tiny screws just about drove me out of my teeny tiny mind! That said, I did ask about a replacement battery for another laptop and the nice woman working there did advise that I could get a cheaper, 3rd party battery online---less than anything she'd have in store. That's integrity. They had some Apple products in store, look to do a roaring trade in iPod repair, and also do data recovery. Out of warranty and lacking AppleCare, I wouldn't hesitate to entrust my Apple gadgets with Londonmac. Thanks to them, I (and my laptop) live to torment Yelp another day.

We visited London with our 3 year old and had a day trip out of London planned. We booked a car but…read morediscovered they do not offer car seats. So we had a baby equipment delivery service/vendor lined up to have a far seat delivered to our hotel. Closer to our date, they informed me they were fully booked so that left us without any other option but to buy a car seat. I wasn't about to spend £££ on a luxury car seat (which is all we were finding in London) for one day use so I started googling and came across Argos. I browsed their site and saw the car seat that met our specifications which ended up being the same price as it would have been to rent from the vendor plus their delivery/pickup fees. We hate being THAT customer but we arrived 15 minutes before closing on the night before our planned day trip and we were able to purchase the car seat right then and there on their systems. Then walked a few steps over to their counter where they brought it over. We were in an out in 10 minutes. Service was fine although I realize a clueless customer rushing in so close to the end of your day might be slightly irritating. After use, we listed the car seat on Craigslist to anyone who wanted to pick up from us at our hotel lobby free of charge which worked out great since we didn't need to schlep the car seat to a local charity shop.
