It is the…read morequick or emergency "go-to" place (convenience/gas) on the island, just at the end of the Odell Williamson Bridge as you come in from the mainland over the Intercostal Waterway. If you are looking to make big grocery store trips to get a big bunch of food or supplies for the week, you probably are going to head to the Lowes Foods right back over the bridge or the Food Lions near Sunset Beach or Shallotte. But for quick things, a few food items or convenience store things, beer, etc. then Sheffield's fits the bill. A huge walk in beer cooler, always nice especially when it is so hot outside! There is a small seafood shop in the back as well. Quick ice stop here is probably the main reason we see it so much. Very nice people working, great location, and handy items make Sheffield's one place you will probably visit many times if you make it out to OIB anytime for a vacation.

A year later, two days ago, I brought her in and the staff fussed over her. Today I came in with Josie and a guy behind the counter scowled at us. They had a dog sitting on the counter. The scowling guy said the dog did not like other animals. He also told me I couldn't bring her to the back, where they had been so nice to her the day before, and the coffee drinks and bagels were prepared. We went next door to buy my café mocha. So, Island Mart confuses me. They are either very dog friendly or not. Depends on the day of the week?

Service was good and snacks were even better. The next day we heard rumors of the sandwich shop in the back but I couldn't find many pictures of them in the reviews. So you mean to say you aren't making any more at all- and I have driven to this store before main lunch time and all you will make is one pizza. Never again for me. The ruddest, nastiest service person I've run across in years. Asked the customer in front of me…read morethe questions, "name, what size pictures), then makes a run through the container and announces "we don't have them". The customer told her she was notified the evening before they were ready. Mrs. McNasty then proceeds to look through the containers again and miraculously finds the package, throws it on the counter and says "you have to pay at the front". Then it's my turn. Same interrogation, "name, what size pictures?" I said "I don't know but they are not 5x7 or 8x10 which probably only leaves one or two left. I told her I had been notified this morning they were ready. She said what time? I said I wasn't sure, but I only had one cup of coffee when they called my wife. She said, we don't call, it's a text message, like I was trying to pull one over on her. I said I have an order number, to which she says, we only use the last name. I'm relaying this to my wife, who doesn't have more to add and Im getting madder by the minute, when "Viola!, McNasty tosses my pictures onto the counter. I was walking away as she barked "you have to pay at the front". Walgreen would do well to put this women in the storeroom where she has no interaction with customers.

Customer service in the pharmacy is all about them, not the customer. I recently went to pick up a…read moreprescription at 1:30. Their sign says they all go on lunch break from 1:30pm until 2:00pm. When the girl rang up my total I tried to use Good RX which would have saved me $10. She proceeded to say to me "if you come back in a 30 minutes I'll be happy to change it for you, but it's time for my lunch break." And they wonder why they have lost business to Walgreens right across the street. Walgreen's here I come.
