I hired Marc to represent me in the sale of my home. I spoke with him on the phone , reviewed specifics- i then signed the contract and paid 50% deposit within minutes of receiving the paperwork. Through the process, Marc did not check in at any time- and when i called him on a rare occasion, he would ALWAYS complain- his office was short handed, his friend was sick, he didn't feel well etc. It was highly unprofessional- i had never experienced such a low level of service. I was then advised by my realtor he found out Marc had signed a contract to represent buyers after receiving my signed contract. It is one thing to be an attorney not servicing his client- but legal professional ethics and obligations come into play when the attorney plays both sides of the table. I would highly recommend staying away from Marc Miller. read more

Unfortunately, I had the "opportunity" to indirectly engage with this law office as they represented the buyer in my real estate transaction. This office was horrible when it came to communications with realtor, sellers attorney and even their own client (the buyer) Emails went unanswered, phone calls not returned and numerous misrepresentations regarding supposed follow up. A cash transaction that took 2 months to close! Their interactions with the Title Co went from bad to terrible regarding follow up and I had to personally intervene to obtain documents to clarify several "issues" that arose, which delayed closing. It took me all of 10 minutes to contact the County to obtain information/documents that resolved and clarified the situation. Something that they should have done, but too incompetent to do. I would not advise using this office or Titleworks Service Inc. read more

Marc Miller's a complete joke as an attorney, I'd highly recommend that you seek an attorney who'll have your back. He was my real estate attorney some time back when I purchased my very first home in the Hudson Valley. The sellers were very unscrupulous and during the final walk-through, they quite literally hid the fact that the home's heating system (specifically, the heat exchanger within the furnace) was broken. Marc was fine with the sellers taking me to the final walk-through due to supposed inclement weather. The weather obviously wasn't an issue - because they'd ALL made to the closing less than an hour later..... The seller had walked me through the house and walked over to the living room's main thermostat, and turned on the whole house's thermostat for JUST long enough for me to hear the system kick on for a few seconds, and then the seller had immediately turned off the thermostat "to save heat", and rushed me out of the house to go to the closing. How odd, right? My suspicions were spot on that they were hiding something.... Cut to 3 hours later - after the closing and everyone getting paid, when I went out to my first bought new home, excited to walk around and take measurements. I turned on the thermostat, and within 2 minutes, these huge clouds of thick, black smoke came out of the floor's heat registers. As it turned out, the heat exchanger was (already) broken prior to the closing, and the heating system had to be fully replaced, as a single part to repair the furnace would've cost equal to buying a new furnace. When I called my real estate attorney, Marc Miller and explained what had just happened, he got really snarky and basically told me that the heating system breaking down after a closing was "my red wagon", when clearly, the sellers were hiding that the system was broken during the final walk-through and they should NEVER have been allowed to do the final walk through! Marc could care less!! So, I had to come up with another $8,000 to purchase an entirely new furnace. All that Marc had to say was that this is a likely covered home owner's insurance issue and tell me as a first time home buyer to approach my home owner's insurance agents, who would send someone out to investigate the issue. I was an inexperienced and unseasoned first-time home buyer and Marc had completely dismissed me. He told me nothing helpful about how to proceed, and he had the unmitigated gaul to be irritated that I was upset at the prospect of having to fork out THOUSANDS for a new furnace after literally JUST PURCHASING my first home. Marc's all about sleeping through the details and administering the closing, rushing it along, so he could get paid. He could care LESS about you as his client, and Marc has no sense of loyalty or integrity, whether you're a first time or seasoned home buyer. BEWARE AND AVOID MARC MILLER AT ALL COSTS. He will not have your best interests at heart and deserves (all of) the bad ratings that he's been getting over the years. read more

I regret having used Miller as our lawyer. Their office was really disorganized and this caused multiple issues and headaches for us. They drew up power of attorney papers for us so that I could close on our house alone without my husband physically present (he has a small business and lost hours would have been expensive). We got them electronically notarized and according to my email records, I sent them to their office on Thursday Nov 12. We were set to close on Tues Nov 17 at 3pm, but it wasn't till the morning of the closing day on Nov 17th that they sent the power of attorney papers to the bank and title company, and learned that there were issues with the power of attorney documents and we couldn't use them. Long story short, the only way we were going to close as scheduled, was if my husband drove from his work from NYC into Kingston where the closing was (this is 2+ hours each way). So my husband ended up doing this because delaying closing would have potentially been very expensive, but it was extremely stressful and costly for him to have to cancel all his meetings and come up in the last minute. What makes me most angry is that Marc would not take responsibility for any of this, originally saying something like, "we only got the papers in on Monday and my assistant was out that day" (um- even if that were the case, that is no excuse, and at any rate, I later checked and saw that I had actually sent the papers Thurs Nov 12 so there was PLENTY of time to look for issues). At another point on a call with my (very upset) husband, he made excuses for their mistake by saying "the rules keep changing" (um, that is what we are paying you for! To KNOW THE RULES, otherwise known as LAWS). His excuses actually kept shifting, and I think this was because ultimately he had no good reason for the mistake.  The mistake was very stressful and costly to my husband's small business, but I understand that mistakes get made. What was unforgivable was the lack of owning up to the mistake. It just showed a complete lack of integrity. If he had at least apologized, or better yet, offered some kind of discount for the mistake they had made, I would have let it go, and I would not be writing this review. I actually hate writing negative reviews for people, but I just feel that people should know what they are getting into when they decide to do business with this office. Side note: there were actually several other mistakes as well (misspelling my husband's name multiple times, including on the title certificate, even after I had corrected them early on) and also a detail in the wording on our rider that I had to correct several times. They are just not very careful. Obviously this is NOT something you want in your lawyer. To top it off, I later learned from our real estate agent that his fees were actually higher than other real estate lawyers in the area. So avoid this lawyer unless you are prepared to worry and watch over all the details and keep on top of things for them (and pay more for it). read more

Marc Miller is a true real estate WIZARD !! He is cool, calm and collected..... in April, when the pandemic hit, we began the very complicated transaction of purchasing not only a foreclosure, but a foreclosure auction that was rather cut throat. I expected an all out war. During the entire process, Marc remained calm, assured me that he would tell me when it was time to worry- and everything was almost radio silence during the time that everything was being worked out. I kept calling asking what I had to do, expecting the worst and made myself crazy... but he and his "Wizardess" Sapana, were working behind the scenes to straighten all the legalities out. This was a very complicated foreclosure; with so much to contest and work out- but he took the bull by the horns and shook the hell out of any issues in 6 weeks flat. I don't write many yelp reviews, but Marc Miller's office, in particular his assistant Autumn, is a dream to work with and I just have to spread the word! We had some difficulties buying our first home but Autumn and team were really excellent in helping us work through the process. I couldn't recommend them highly enough. I've seen it said that when picking a real estate attorney you should evaluate their assistant as much as the attorney themselves and in this case I don't think you could find a better person to work with! read more

Worked with Mark Miller about 6 months ago on a real estate purchase. I've had the opportunity to purchase two other homes in my life and thought I was familiar with the home buying process. Moving to ulster county I wanted a place to call my own instead of renting. The home here was old but beautiful and in need of some work. The inspection went well but had some details my mortgage company needed clarification on. I would call mark and left message after message at times. His assistant called me back more often than he did and was very pleasant. She was 100 times more helpful and pleasant than Mark. His work speed delayed the sale for a lot longer than it should have taken. When I asked him about things taking longer than usual, he explained that it was common for that mortgage company and for ulster county. After moving here and getting to know my neighbors I came to find out this was a standard practice for Miller and associates. read more
