One of my favorite restaurants--if not my favorite--in Chelan! I went to Marcela's with my family (and have been here many times before), and we were immediately seated on a Saturday night. The waiters and workers were friendly and warm, and we were served complimentary chips and salsa. The atmosphere is loud and bustling, and music plays in the background to give this place an upbeat vibe. The place is also clean and surprisingly modern upon entry. Regarding food, there are a ton of options. From burritos, fajitas, burrito bowls, tacos, to enchiladas, there is definitely something for everyone. I ordered a Vegetarian Burrito Bowl (you can add meat if you ask!) while my parents and sister ordered Fish Tacos and Tacos El Carbon. Prices are reasonable for the huge portion size! Flavors are definitely there, and I enjoyed the entire meal. Overall, Marcela's is a great, clean restaurant that serves large portions of delicious Mexican food. I always come home with leftovers. I highly recommend, and I'll definitely be coming here in the future (as I always do when visiting Chelan!). read more

The food here was *chef's kiss* so. good. We got the...look, now I don't remember because it was so tasty I forgot to tuck away the names of things in my memory. The carne asada (some plate with steak) and the camerones chipotle (the STAR - get this!!), both were delicious. Service was friendly and efficient, and we got seated no problem. Next time we're in Chelan, I wouldn't hesitate to come back!! Not a *five star* place because the fruity margaritas - while yummy - barely had any tequila (which might be a pro for some people, but I like to taste my tequila a bit for a ~$10+ drink). The chips/salsa were also meh and on the first round we only got crumbs. That said, you're going for the FOOD, right?! Get that food. It is so good. read more

This was our second time at Marcla's. We returned after having had a good meal a couple of months ago. Once again the food was good BUT!!! When walking to the restroom, past the kitchen I was pretty disgusted. First passing the area where servers pick up food to deliver to tables, our waiter was standing there eating his dinner AND LICKING HIS fingers as he picked up a plate to serve. Then, passing the area more open to the back of the kitchen the floor was utter filth. We had arrived as they opened at11ish am. It had obviously not been cleaned from the prior day. I've oscillated between one star or two stars. The staff was friendly but I just can't get over how flavorless the food was. Myself and my family went here because there were not only several reviews but fairly good reviews. Unfortunately none out of the six of us can figure out why. We found everything to be incredibly flavorless. I was hopeful because I love Mexican food and I don't know how you can go wrong with Mexican but apparently you can. Meh! The chicken fajitas were pretty good. My daughter liked them. The chicken was good and the flour tortillas seemed fresh. My carnitas tacos were ok. The meat was good and tender but the apparent homemade corn tortillas were tough and chewy to the point I didn't eat them. I only ate the taco fillings. The guacamole that came with the tacos did not taste fresh. I didn't finish that either. The rice and beans tasted great. The sour cream was fresh and good. The chips were good and the two salsas were decent. The service was slow and the servers seemed a little unattentive but they were friendly. We didn't have cutlery and had to wait for it after our food had been served. At one point we were out of chips and my soda. I placed the chip bowl and my empty drink cup on the side of the table where the servers would / should notice. I even looked in their direction to hopefully get someone's attention. They, about 5 or 6 of them (all employees), were standing and sitting next to the kitchen either looking our way or on their phones. I thought a few of them were staring directly at our table. Nope. No one noticed I was trying to get their attention. We had to wait until they delivered our food to ask for a refill on my diet coke, chips and silverware. This was a tough review because one of my best friends talks so highly of this place. Her and her husband love it and come here all the time. This was my first time there and I wasn't impressed. We had high hopes for this restaurant, unfortunately it was disappointing. We waited like 40 minutes for the food to get ready, which was not so bad, since they were busy and near their closing time. We got the food to go, and when we got home there were no tortillas, which was an issue, since we had 2 orders of fajitas. So back to pick those up. Just a simple sorry for the mistake. The food was cold by the time I returned. Sad that they did not offer something for our extra time and gas back and forth. The food was pretty good. Probably would be better if we could have ate it when it was hot. Check your order before you leave. read more

The only place open last 7 that I could grab a bite to eat with a friend. A good variety of salsa came with chips while we waited for our food. The salsa verde is great! I actually love it better than the red salsa. I ordered a side chicken enchilada. It was good. The tortilla was a little dry. There was shrivels of cheese on it and I'm used to getting an enchilada smothered in cheese. The sauce for the enchilada was good. It has the somewhat standard west coast American Mexican menus, but all of the items are fresher and higher quality than the norm for Washington State. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't go back. The best things were the creamy retried beans. The first basket of chips and salsa is free. I read others saying they got beans so I asked. They were good and $2 extra. We got the wet burrito (with an extra burrito for$2 more). The red sauce was not good. It tasted like Campbell's tomato soup there was plenty of rice and beans for two people to share (and no need to get extra beans for the chips). I also got s happy hour salad which was good. 1 star - For the crappy minuscule Carne Asada dinner I was served here. I honestly could've ate the entire portion in one single bite had I chosen to. Just edited to one star three weeks after placing my review. The more I have thought about this the more pissed off I am about it because I was really hungry that night after golfing all day. A group of four of us had dinner there service was better than average the place look clean everyone seemed to enjoy their meal pretty much I stayed quiet but I would never order the Carne Asada again at this place. It's one of the more expensive items on the entire menu and the portion they serve is ridiculously small and flavorless. I would be surprised if I was served a 2 ounce portion of beef. It was barely 1/8 of an inch thick and approximately 1/2 the size of a dollar bill. More or less four mini bites. I had to eat an entire basket of chips to satisfy my hunger. I've been to many Mexican restaurants and ordered a $16 entrée of Carne Asada and received a very nice portion the size of a small steak. It comes with a full serving of chicken shrimp and beef, and each is delicious. I get the chipotle sauce on the side cause it kind of overwhelms the dish. Marcela's is one of the great restaurants in Chelan. The food is always fresh, their service exceptional and despite the economic fallout of the pandemic, she's managed to keep her prices from escalating sky-high and their doors open every day of the week, including during lunch. I have had only one experience (out of the dozens of times we've been there) where the food was below the standard of what I've come to expect at this restaurant. They deeply apologized and made it right with no hesitation. Quality is key with Marcela's. If you're looking for a great Mexican restaurant, i would highly recommend Marcela's. read more

Music WAY too loud, so everyone talks louder and louder to compensate! Waitstaff unorganized and unprofessional. Sat down and it took 20 minutes for our server to ask if we wanted drinks- she showed up after 20 minutes and said, "are you ready to order?" There was no hello or welcome or telling us what the special was or asking if we wanted drinks... it was like, "hurry up we're busy". Gross! I'm a teacher and I work DAMN hard for my money. This place should understand it is a PRIVILEGE for people to CHOOSE to spend their hard earned dollars here. It's called respect for your patrons!! After another 20 minutes I got up and asked bartender for more chips and drinks. This caused alarm because I got up from my table... so... I calmly and politely shared all the things that had occurred but the reaction from the bar manager lady was just like, "thanks for understanding we are busy". Um NO! Busy or not, you should slow down and treat your customers how they should be! DUH! These people clearly don't get it!! I will NEVER go here again. It was THE WORST in regards to atmosphere, service, food and drink. Has a lot of potential but hard to get past the amateur waitstaff, disrespectful attitudes , mediocre food and drink, and Outrageously loud music! The food is incredible! I don't generally eat much of the rice or beans at Mexican restaurants, but they were phenomenal here and I ate so much! The service was swift and friendly. We happened to be here around Dia De Los Muertos and it was beautifully decorated. I hope to come back to Chelan and definitely would eat here again! read more

One of my favorite Chelan restaurants. Sopitas and burritos are huge and tasty. Black bean soup is seasoned well. I sent back the tortilla soup as it tasted like tomato sauce with A can of enchilada sauce added; I could have accepted a few small pieces of chicken, two bites of avocado and a few shredded tortillas but the broth/sauce was terrible. Service was attentive and friendly. I recommend the Fried Ice Cream with chocolate and strawberry sauces - you will need two forks! read more
