From the use of the old cash register to the posters and old bookshelves of old magazines. They cater for Birthdays to Weddings and all round Celebrations. I got myself the traditional "lemon tart" while my brother, the "100 year old Polish baked cheese cake" with coffee on the side. It taste how it looks. Delectable, delightful, scrumptious... Just before we left we got the classic Carmel Slice, Cherry Crumble and Sacher Torte (Slice) to go. Just as pleasing as the others. For a shop that is located in St Kilda with its steep history, I was surprised to see that the pricing wasn't too expensive or cheap. It was just right... In conclusion, I would come back for after dinner desserts and have them cater for my future celebrations. If you haven't been and or haven't heard of this place then your missing out on a little slice of what Melbourne has to offer. LuxBite is a medium-sized cafe that has successfully creates a charming and homey atmosphere with a touch of class from the high ceiling, modern design and marble table top. I walked in at around 3:30 p.m., and already they ran out of 50% of their selections, also missed the opportunity to try their MasterChef famous Lolly bag cake *sad* My pick of treats: Kuma - A wonderful play of strawberry and banana cream flavor on top of a chocolate tart pastry. The presentation was insanely adorable, but taste-wise, it was too sweet and heavy for my liking. The chocolate decorations was not delicate and the tart based pastry was a tad too hard. With each cake costing $8-9 each, expensive for what basically amounts to a few bites. Be My Love - Again, the presentation was so darn cute, almost too beautiful to be eaten. However, it was just as forgettable as the previous. A milk chocolate mousse with raspberry jelly in the middle- it has that combination taste of sweet and sour that was a little too overpowering for my palate. The best part about my trip to LuxBite however, has got to be sipping their Rose lychee latte. Mildly infused Rose-lychee flavor latte garnished with raspberry bits. Quite creative, delicious and slightly bitter - a perfect remedy to tone down the richness and sweetness of the cake. Short to say, LuxBite was just an alright experience for me, but I would say it's still worth the try - the taste might not be anything too special, but the cake artistry here is superb and the staffs are full of smiles. I was surprised at the large amount of freshly baked bread and decided to stock up a weeks worth of breads as well as a few muffins for myself and some workmates which was amazing , Other than all the breads anyone could want this guys have all kinds of other treats including cookies in many shapes and sizes pies ( apple pie, berry pie, meat pies an all the other pies), sticky date puddings, soft drinks and coffee which is honestly no that all praise worthy.

They sell a few cakes (orange and poppy seed, sticky date, cheesecake, mud etc.), cupcakes, tarts, gingerbread men and meringues etc. They also sell muffins fresh in the mornings that are absolutely delicious! The flavors change every day, but they are all so good. I had a berry one once, and there was swirl of raspberry jam all the way through, it was fantastic. I loved the Lemon Tart, as it was neither too sweet or sour, and I love tart pastries! Although it's difficult to go wrong with a lemon tart - there definitely wasn't any added or artificial flavor that shouldn't have been there. The Hazelnut Millefeuille was also delicious, as it reminded me of a Ferrero Rocher. It was definitely richer, so it was difficult for me to have too much, but puff pastry always does it for me. The brownie cake was also really delicious, and was a good balance of all the flavors, especially with the layer of passionfruit. They do an afternoon coffee and dessert special for $9 that we should have done, but we didn't see it until after! The place actually reminded me a bit of a petit Le Bon Choix in Brisbane, but definitely with better tasting desserts and better service!

On display behind immaculately clean glass were dozens upon dozens of colorful and perfectly delectable French pastries. The Mister Green Tea (what a witty name for a cake) caught my eyes immediately. Absolutely enchanting with perfectly crafted raspberry jam and gold leaf on top of a faint green tea cake, it completely stole my breath away. Upon looking closer, the tiny pastries were made with black sesame sable base and green tea mousse. And as I bit into it, I found the center filled with luscious raspberry cremeux. Everything about it is a testament to perfection and deliciousness! I also got their Matcha Latte, and it was just as sensational as the rest of the desserts. That green tea was light yet rich, slightly bitter to counter the sweetness of the cakes. Beautiful in both presentation and taste! The price may be quite steep for such a small plate of dessert ($9.90) and a cup of latte ($6), but to find a rare gem like this certainly makes up for once in a lifetime experience.

No fry ups here - think danish, tarts and muffins. Certainly hit this place up for cake and coffee, but give it a miss if you are chasing the grease on a lazy Sunday morning.
