I visited Marco Polo Trattoria with with a friend; our most fun experience was finding the entrance. The entrance isn't the easiest to find on the street despite being part of a hotel, but... definitely go on the "uphill" side of the street! We were greeted by the hostess and sat fairly quickly - no wait even on a weekend evening. There were only a few tables left, and the atmosphere was quite dim and intimate, the perfect date spot. Though there were many options for water, we went with regular tap, which was still refreshing. For dinner, I had their agnolotti del bosco, which featured a marsala fondue and cheese. The dish was best described like ravioli. The cute rectangular pasta pillows were filled with some of the best seasoned meat I've ever had. The mushrooms? Never knew the name of these, but they were a hit. Overall, I would definitely return to eat here in a heartbeat. Their rotating menu keeps things exciting, and their food was tasty. First time here yesterday, it's located on Santa Monica blvd so be sure to get there earlier we went 8 pm on a Saturday and we got lucky with a spot right on street. I had a reservation so we were immediately sat. The atmosphere had a modern feel and was inviting and mellow. Drinks were delicious, I ordered the eastside with vodka instead of mezcal and an espresso martini. The espresso was very fresh. For dinner we ordered the broccolini (must get this!!!), burrata (it comes with focaccia), and for entree the vodka pasta and ricotta gnocchi. Ricotta gnocchi was insane: salty, meaty, and cheesy; def get this. Dessert was tiramisu, one of the best I've ever had you can tell the espresso is fresh and very high quality. The best part of dinner was the service: the manager Marie was so genuine and checked on us multiple times, you can tell she loves her job and took pride in taking care of the customers. We were walk-ins without a reservation, and gladly sat at the bar for dinner. It was nice. We ordered mojitos which were absolutely fantastic. Fritto Misto (calimari) for our appetizer and this was delicious. Main course, we had the Cacio E Pepe and the Linguine Vongile. The food was amazing and we will return for sure. Note on bartenders: the female was fantastic and as we watched her prepare drinks, she was fair in her pours. However, a black gentleman (who was extremely nice) as we watched him pour (all of his pours were less than - cheating on the amount poured). I sure do not want him to make my drink because I already know it's going to be on the weak side and not worth the price that is charged. I didn't have a reservation so they gave me the option to sit at the bar or in this open area upstairs so I chose that. I was there by myself and ordered my drink the costal spritz which was actually so good. I went to the bathroom real quick and when I came back someone had taken my seat. I was confused as to the employee didn't tell them that seat/table was taken given the menu was there. Thankfully there was another table open but with no shade so I just sat there. I ordered the fries and the Marco Polo burger. The burger was okay, very dry. I think the only good thing was the spritz. I spent almost $40 on happy hour for one person which was a bit more than I wanted to spend. Overall the burger restaurant is cute but the food was okay. read more

Went in to try their DineLA lunch menu. $25 for an appetizer, entree, and dessert, which would be north of $40 if ordered a la carte. Fantastic value, and the food is pretty good too. For the appetizer I got the baked clams. I wasn't sure if this was going to be a smaller portion for DineLA, but was served with a pretty generous 15 clams on the plate. The garnishing was delicious, though was maybe a little heavy on the sea salt. The main course was a chicken parm sandwich, not something you can normally order but looks like it combines their regular menu chicken sandwich and chicken parm plate. This was also fairly good, although adding a bun to an already breaded chicken parm makes it a little heavy and one note. Some more zest or greens might have helped balance it. I guess that's why it's not a regular menu item. The olive oil cake for dessert was very good, with an orange marmalade-like garnish on top, which helped compensate for the cake being slightly on the dry side. For $25, I have no real complaints and would happily recommend Marco Polo to anyone. If you're paying full price, it's still good, but not quite above other spots in a very competitive restaurant scene. The atmosphere also depends on what you're looking for. Being attached to a hotel patio and next to an Erewhon, it has a very relaxed, Palm Springs vis-a-vis Silver Lake vibe, with a clientele to match. Service is also pretty relaxed, with plenty of time to chitchat between dishes. It took an hour fifteen to finish lunch, which was sped along by asking for the check with dessert. read more

There's street parking or valet available as well. The ambiance and decor was beautiful. I felt like I was on vacation somewhere else away from the city. For appetizers we got the focaccia and the stuffed peppers - both were soo delicious. The focaccia was crunchy on the outside but super soft on the inside. The stuffed peppers had an acidic kick to them which tasted so good paired with the goat cheese. For entrees we had paccheri allá vodka and linguine vongole. No complaints about either dish! Eh. I wanted to like Marco Polo, but after two separate visits, I can safely say it's not for me. This place is just like its neighbor Erewhon--overpriced and overrated. Underneath the well-curated social media page and beautiful decor is just another mediocre hotel restaurant. The food was cooked well but seasoned badly--too salty and too oily. The space is very small, so it gets uncomfortably crowded. The servers were nice, but understaffed both times I visited, so I constantly had to ask for help, which is ridiculous considering the price point. The vibe gives off the four T's: trendy, tattoos, transplants, and tourist. It might be worth coming during happy hour, but I would much rather go to one of the more authentic Italian restaurants LA has to offer. I recommend Spina in Atwater Village and Cívico 2064 in Los Feliz. Pro-tip: If you insist on going to Marco Polo, skip the valet and park on the street away from Sunset Blvd. read more

For the past couple of years it's been my annual tradition to go to Marco Polo for a Thanksgiving Day Lunch. I also, frequent this establishment on occasion with friends or dates. Over the course of many Thanksgiving Day lunches as I was WOWED at my first Thanksgiving Day Lunch the portions have gotten smaller and smaller and the service has gotten worse and worse as the years progressed. Today (Thanksgiving 2025) was a confusing and disheartening experience. Again, I look forward to this once a year because I enjoy my alone time during my Thanksgiving Day lunch; I bring a book, good vibes and can't wait to bask in the glow of the ambience at Marco Polo. I diligently make a 12:30pm reservation out of respect for the service staff and organizational processes of a running restaurant eventho it isn't busy. But this year I made a reservation at said time for the mezzanine because I thought it would be beautiful to sit in the sun, read, and enjoy my meal. The hostess was lovely and informed me that because I made reservations for the mezzanine I had to order at the bar but honestly the overall vibe from the service staff there is lackluster and it's been like this for a while-they just seemed over it! I am empathic to working on a holiday like Thanksgiving but as adults we have free-will to choose our paths in life. Anywho, I approached the bar and informed the bartender/server that I was informed to order here and asked for an N/A Spritz and a Thanksgiving Day meal. He rung me up, I tipped appropriately (because all he did was open a can into a cocktail glass with ice) I proceeded to grab my cocktail find a seat at the empty mezzanine because the bartender/server said, "since you're here" and served myself. I briefly went to the restroom and when I returned the server/bartender happened to be carrying my Thanksgiving plate to the mezzanine. I sat down and he just out the plate down and didn't ask if I needed anything. I was disappointed. As I looked at my plate the portions seemed smaller than previous years. Extremely small! I ate everything in under 10mins. Also, when ordering I told the bartender/server the type of dessert I want and I would like it to go. Well, after 45mins, he never came, NOT ONCE, to check on me-mind you, it wasn't busy. I packed up, bussed my own table, plates, glasses and all and approached the bar. I asked him I wanted my dessert to go-he clearly forgot and asked what type again. He returned with my dessert and I wished him a Happy Holidays as the hostess just glared at me and other patrons in the restaurant. Now, I know Spanish, while other service staff was walking around and stating that they such have been serving pupusas instead because it wasn't as busy as they expected it to be. Which is understandable because they rely on tips and probably don't wanna be there in a holiday but the attitudes are lack of basic service skills made me want to leave and it was extremely disappointing. Eventho, I love the atmosphere there-I don't want to spend another Thanksgiving or have another meal at that establishment. They should just be closed to the public on Thanksgiving Day as it doesn't seem to be profitable on their end. Extremely disappointed in this beloved place but I'm gonna have to move on. We shared the linguine vongole (clams) (odd taste), Paccheri Alla Vodka (too al dente), cucumber and avocado salad (refreshing), baked clams were tiny and garlicky, fried chicken sandwich (eh) with fries, Marco Polo burger (eh) with fries and olive oil cake (delicious!). Listen carefully when your server asks you re the water, "Still (charge) or tap (no charge)?" not "Still or sparking?" There's a charge for the still water. Nice ambience and good service. Our DineLA visit last year was better because it included the bass. We were disappointed with this year's overall food and won't be back. Finally made it to this hidden gem and you will definitely not notice it when driving by. The brunch menu looks good too but for now made it out for lunch. The weather was great for sitting outdoors and the setting makes you feel like you are on vacation somewhere. My mom and I shared the: Wild Mushroom Crostone Italian Chopped Salad Paccheri Alla Vodka The crostone was loaded with mushrooms and bread was soft. The salad was loaded and the dressing has great acidity. The pasta was cooked al dente and i really enjoyed those bites of roasted garlic with the sauce. The limoncello spritz was also a nice refresher! Service was nice and attentive and they have a couple specials going on certain days. This place is a must try! Street parking is kind of a hassle , so unless you are lucky, i recommend just using their valet service right up front. read more

The chopped salad didn't have cheese or salami on the pasta party version. I'd like to see what other pastas there are but you can only get the one.
