This movie theater is rad. Fun fact: it used to be a bank! They kept the vault and turned it into a take five cocktail lounge. What a cool freakin concept. So of course there's a bar. It's not a basic theater bar either. It felt upscale and classy to me. The movie theater is huge. I highly recommend watching a movie in the ultra screen DLX room. They do not play when it comes to surround sound and comfy lounge chair seating!!! I brought a blanket for extraaa cozy feels. I would say it's the next best thing to IMAX. This theater (like all others in Lincoln) has been going downhill, but they randomly stopped validating parking without posting a warning on online ticketing sites. Absolute ripoff, and the city council should now allow competitors to come in and build suburban multiplexes. Sorry Marcus, but I hope AMC comes to town soon. The only times I still go here is when I want dinner downtown before our movie. That's literally the only reason. I'm a movie lover and the sound in these theatres sucks. No matter what time of day you come, the popcorn is GUARENTEED to be stale, and the kitchen is rarely open. I used to come here since 2016-2025 and that's just what we'd expect. Until this theatre didn't have the new Kill Bill back towards the end of last year, this was my main theatre. Then I was forced to go to another Marcus theatre where I realized this one is really just the worst of them all. Not to mention there's been at least three times we've gone and there's been a broken recliner! Thats crazy considering that's your biggest- and dare I say- ONLY amenity. Walking into this theater definitely has a different vibe than the marcus' in Omaha. I especially love the Take 5 lounge with giant bank safe door when you walk in. The ticket attendants are nice and helpful. We saw a movie in theater 1 and it's huge! All comfy reclining seats. Popcorn was fresh and the pop was good! Again the star of the show was the interior and the service. Located right in the heart of downtown Lincoln, it would have been a great spot for dates in college. read more

Always the best! I love going to movies here. I remember when they first built this place and it was the most popular place in town. Now that I'm older I hadn't been to a movie in theaters in several years. I typically only go for big blockbusters like action movies. But I decided to go on a date and see Encanto which was really good! We were in one of the smaller theaters since it was a version with captions. We really enjoyed the movie! This is a very nice theater with comfortable recliner seats and free popcorn on Tuesdays and $5 movies. I really enjoyed my experience here. Concession line moves a little slowly with just one person working, but everyone is so friendly and nice, which makes up for the speed, or lack thereof. It is a good location for offfering many more movies than their other locations. But for me, it's hugely inconvenient due to the parking situation. There is 1 specific parking garage that they partner with to give you 2 hours free when you see a movie. And the first hour is already free. But I like to use their movie flex plan to see 3 movies at a time on Tuesdays for free. The $1.25/hour it costs to park basically offsets the free tickets. I wish they would offer better movie theaters that actually had parking. read more

I booked the wrong location to see Wonka on Christmas Day 2023. Manager was kind enough to allow us to transfer the tickets so we could watch at the Grand. I doubt this is something they would allow repeatedly, but being that it Christmas I was spared from losing money and disappointing my family with my mistake. the movie was great, and the atmosphere was good, so Marcus theaters was great for the most part, it wasn't until a Karen waited for me, my wife, and my 2 year old and 1 year old to walk down to complain to us about the noise they made, mind you they only fussed for a few minutes in total which was my 1 year old, wanted to take her to a KIDS movie on her bday to do something special , but apparently we shouldn't have kids in the theater for a Kids movie, i understand to be respectful, we chose a later movie with a almost completely empty theater, and if they got to be to loud we would have taken them out, but it never lasted long for the little fusses they made, but this lady waited their as we walked down the steps and had the audacity to tell us we should have taken the kids out and that 37 years ago she would have done it. if I had any apologies to give, I have none for her! sorry lady not all about you! thank you and goodnight! read more

Awesome movie theatre!!! I have never been to one like it. When you purchase tickets you select where you sit in the theatre by using a touchscreen at the register. Once inside there are regular concessions and a full bar which you enter by walking through a vault door. Inside the bar they have TVs everywhere and a big screen playing a movie. The bar furniture is recliners and couches as well as typical movie theatre seating and bar stools. Inside the theatre there are recliners which lean back or up by using an electric button on the side of the recliner. There are single recliners as well as doubles. The theatres and bathrooms are clean and the service is great! Definitely worth checking out! read more

Worse movie experience ever today. Only one employee selling tickets. All 3 ticketing vending machines out of order. Customer line extended out the doors and down the sidewalk. Customers were waiting so long....some missed the beginning of movie. Bathroom was unsanitary. Liquid pool on floor. Clearly a health concern. Three employees behind concession counter..only one actually selling. Not sure what the other two were doing Therefore another long line. The movies are open for business but apparently not service. I liked the convenience of booking my tickets online and reserving my seats for the the movie with the recliner seats hours in advance. It cuts down on having to arrive at the theater early and ensures you'll be sitting where you want to. If you have the rewards program on tuesdays you can see a movie for $5 and with free popcorn to boot. Now thats a deal you really cant miss in a day and age where a movie can set you back $12-14 for a late night or evening show. The recliner chairs in the stadium seating theater are super cool-it makes you feel like you're lounging in a recliner back home. For three years in a row I have been attending an event in Lincoln, Nebraska for a week. I tend to make myself very comfortable in the neighborhood and make myself feel as though I am a local. One of my favorite things to go do every year is visit the Grand Cinema. Out of all the places I have lived and explored, this is one of my favorite movie theaters. Primarily because of the seating. It is so great to be able to sit on a leather, reclining couch. You can sit back, literally and enjoy the show while kicking your feet up! Some of them are singles and some of them are doubles. I always like to help myself to sitting in a double with my popcorn and purse right next to me, also enjoying the show. In comparison to Los Angeles movie theater prices, this is nothing. At night it's about $10.75. The picture and sound is great. They also have a great refreshment stand, and they are not snobby about letting you bring outside food and drink. Just be a little bit discrete. I highly recommend watching a movie here! Every year I go by myself and take myself out for a date. It's comfortable, relaxing, and they always have a great selection of movies they're showing. read more

In a city where monopolies are allowed. Unless you are downtown, this is the theatre complex to avoid in this city. Went to a morning show to see a new movie that is only showing at this theatre. Booked online. Entered complex looking for electronic kiosk and there were none. Had to wait in line to be attended to by someone at the counter The Marcus theatre in the city that I prefer is Eastpoint. They have the power leather reclining seats. Reserved seating and by far is a nicer experience. Upon entering the theatre itself. 15 minutes below showtime. It has the aroma of Joe Lewis Arena or the old Omaha Civic Auditorium. There was no air circulating until the lights dimmed. Go to one of the Marcus theaters with dreamloungers. You won't regret it read more

Dante's proposed tenth circle of hell is the Marcus Grand Cinema in Lincoln Nebraska, where only the most wretched souls are forced to endure full-length movies for all eternity. Seriously, this is the worst theater I've ever experienced. I don't expect a lot out of a movie theater. A movie theater exists so that people can pay to watch a movie in a relatively clean and comfortable environment. The Mrs and I went to It Chapter 2. We're a little leery of theaters in Lincoln because we have historically found them to be filled with screaming children and I immediately knew this time would be no different. A gaggle of teenagers literally ran into the theatre. They were screaming, shouting, and running between seats. Maybe the babysitter canceled? Ok, so we're keeping cool during the previews, but these kids keep going bananas. They're shouting, running around, and taking photos with the flash on. I'm not going to personally fight eight jazzed up teenagers, so the manager was alerted to the issue. However, instead of coming into the theater to deal with the issue, he simply stood along the wall near the kids and watched the first twenty minutes of the movie before leaving. He did not address the continuing bad behavior. He was too scared to approach them or too lazy to deal with the situation. I ended up having to personally yell at these kids just so we could try and get our money's worth out of this garbage experience. After the movie, we approached the same guy to basically ask "bro, what's up?" He called over his manager who literally gave us two free passes for movies without even making eye contact with us. We ended up handing the passes to a group of strangers we saw on the street because we'd rather sit at home and watch garbage reality TV than go to a movie at Marcus Theaters for free. If you care about enjoying a movie then you should just drive to The Alamo in Omaha. Seriously, the food is better, the theater is better, and they'll actually kick people out if they're causing a problem. PS The Alamo's branding is also on point. read more

I think this is as nice as it gets. Back home in good ole' Elgin, IL, our Marcus is crammed, speakers worn down, and ehhh-service. This one had a full snack counter, a bar, and enough space to gym gymnastics. I wasn't a fan of the low rise seats in the theatre, meaning that if you're the top row-you're actually farther away from the screen than most theatres. But of course, recliners, lot of space or your feet, and it was just a really relaxing theatre where you didn't feel like you were being breathed on by the people around you. read more

Super easy and efficient theater! You walk in and use one of their touch screen kiosks. You choose which movie and time and you chose your seat too! It makes the whole process easy and it gives you and idea of how crowded the theater will be before you walk in. The theater is clean and has reclining seats. This downtown theater is Lincoln's largest with 14 theatres plus Ultra Screen which offers a large curved screen and overstuffed reclining chairs as well as food and adult drink options from their restaurant Take Five. Parking validation for 3 hours can be given if you park at the Centre Park Garage. They have all movies for all showings for $5 on tuesdays and for students $5 thursdays. read more

I am a huge fan of Marcus theaters. They're consistently clean, have the latest and greatest movies, a nice reward program and a plethora of options at least in Nebraska. When this particular theater opened, I did not care for it. Since it is located downtown, parking is a bit challenging. But they play the newest movies and have the best selection for so it is often the one we frequent. However, with the addition of the Dream Loungers it seems this place took a step up (parking still challenging of course but now it is worth it). The theater which once was dreadful has shown improvement in terms of customer service and better care of the facility itself - not as many sticky floors, popcorn laden areas and cleaner restrooms. I have eaten in the on-site restaurant and the food is actually not too bad. It's a decent choice for days when the weather is cold and there's a few good movies to watch on the screen. The brewed coffee is excellent and something I try to work into my visits there. Staff is generally pretty friendly and helpful although sometimes non existent even at peak times. read more

Been coming here for years, but sadly it is getting more and more run down. Went with my family to movie other night and my seat and one attached to mine did not work or recline. The cup holder was completely missing! Was going to go complain but movie was starting and it was sold out so I knew we could not just get different seats. Just amazing how even though they upgraded all theaters here to reclining seats and yet still so run down. Theaters smell and carpet in lobbies run down. We think its ironic how at end of all previews the owners thank everyone in video even making their 3 generations out like they are celebrities. Its terrible how city doesnt allow other companies to give them competition. Instead they make all the profit, raising prices of tickets over and over. Eventually noone will be going to theaters and prefering amazon, netflix and others for simple resounds like this. read more

Would have given 5 stars because the seats were comfy and the concession stand staff was amazing. However, I was not able to receive my free movie ticket from a picture on my phone that I got for problems last visit. I am from a small town and rarely go to the movies in Lincoln and I wasn't expecting to go to the movies so I left my coupon at home. and the girl at the ticket stand refused to scan the ticket from my phone. I understand I should have had it but have a little damn empathy, I'm sure you aren't able to scan the same coupon twice. My wife and I went to this theater last night to watch The Visit. The movie was good and the seats in the Ultra Screen theater were amazing because they recline and there was a lot of room. I liked the sound system they have in the theater. However there were a few issues that the theater needs to address. This theater is the biggest theater in lincoln NE. There were about 75 people that were in the lobby after they got thier tickets including my wife and I. There were only two employees selling refreshments to 75 people and the line was very long. There are several registers. But they only had two open. I dont know if they were short staff or if the owner or manager are only scheduling two employees for refreshments but it was pretty pathetic. We got there very early like 25 minutes early and we got into our movie after the previews had already started. I am sure that a lot of people did not make it to thier movies on time. So if you are going to this movie theater on the weekends you might want to show up 40 minutes early. Alcohol is now served in this theater and some of the adult people watching the movie were drunk and obnoxious. There were several Junior High kids obviously under 17 years of age running around like hooligans in this R rated movie, Marcus Theaters must be selling tickets to kids younger than the law allows. read more

Not really a theatre that I would choose to attend over other theatres, but it is the most conveniently located. Concessions are typical movie theatre: candy, stuffed pretzels, popcorn, etc. Typical movie theatre price. $19 for two tickets to a late night movie, and $8 for two candies. Grand does have a ton of restrooms though. It is likely that if you are in theatre 1-8,y you will have a restroom right outside your door, though it is a one person restroom. This is a busy theater since it is downtown. Parking can be painful all around the downtown area so plan accordingly. I usually end up parking in one of the garages so I can free up about 5-10 spots for other people as I walk past. The facilities are fairly clean and about average on prices. read more

Nice theater! The ultra screen has really good visual and sound effect. Reclined seats are comfortable! Parking validation machine seems to be malfunctioning as I have to pay 1-2 bucks several times even though I did validation and parked for less than 3 hours on non-game day! Hope there could be more reclined seats in other show rooms too! read more

Show time was 125 mins, figured an extra 15 mins for trailers. Was highly disappointed when they ran 30 minutes of trailers prior to the start of the movie. Had to miss the last 10 mins of the movie! Other than that, theatre was clean and comfy. It was nice to be able to have a beer while watching the movie. read more

A large chain cinema with a decent retro arcade. The place is kept quite clean and the seats are comfortable. My only complaint is that sometimes the dialog is too quiet (though I fear it's just a norm). The staff is very friendly and courteous. Occasionally they hold a retro film fest to appease the nostalgia buffs. read more

Although friendly staff and nice quality theaters/seats, every time we good seems to be a very frustrating and disappointing experience. There needs to be a kiosk or line for people who have already purchased tickets/seats ahead of time so we don't have to wait 20 minutes in line to have our tickets printed off. Then that brings me to the concessions. 5/5 times I have had to wait 15+ minutes for a single drink/popcorn. This is an absolute joke. Everything needs to speed up so people can make their movies on time and not worry about getting there 45 minutes or longer before showtime. The floors are never clean and the soda areas are always sticky with flies. So disgusting. This most recent time the theater hadn't been cleaned out and we had popcorn/soda/sticky candy and wrappers all in our seats minutes before the movie was starting. This better be acknowledged and corrected before I'll attend this theater again. I'll drive to Omaha instead. I'd be embarrassed and take immediate action if I owned/ran this property. read more

I consider this theatre to be pricey, but I guess people in bigger cities have it worse so I can't complain too much. I like $5 Tuesdays. I also like the specials like Kids Dream.
