The absolute best thrift store experience I have had in town! I've been frustrated with Goodwill's high prices and lack of selection for the last few years. I finally came to Marcus Point today, and I will definitely be back! We bought 3 full bags bursting with clothes and only spent $75, and so many of those items were nice brands with the tags still on! Nothing was overpriced, everything was well-organized, and I was so wowed with the furniture quality and selection: solid wood pieces and nice furniture for $30-$70! To top it all off, Ms. Renee was a total sweetheart and we enjoyed chatting with her while we tried on clothes and checked out. This place is lovely! Way way too expensive for things used! Asking furniture the outrageous price they ask- is unreal! Not even antique! They must base prices on this stuff new! I mean Facebook market place is cheaper! Goodwill would NEVER ask these prices! It's about helping out- right? But they sell a Starbucks used cup for 7.99! When brand new it's at least 19.99! someone is robbing for God here! It's a shame! I haven't really asked for any kind of service here, other than access to the dressing rooms (which is generally prompt) but the cashiers have been friendly enough. As a perk, even should you not find anything to buy, beside the hall at the back with the bathroom there's usually a "free" box where you can pick up a loaf of bread or similar "expiring soon" offering; just recently they had the box full of Christmas sprinkles, along with a small table of free baby food. Honestly, it's a highlight for me lol. But I think the odds are in your favor, because the selection is as good as it gets. The right side of the store has furniture, and I've seen some steals mixed in with more "meh" offerings there. They have one of those weird "we saw this on eBay" sections and I never bother looking at it because thrift store staff genuinely have no idea how eBay works and fail to understand the difference in these markets, but my partner has once or twice found some electronic or something that's an okay bargain. They have a good and ever changing mix of craft supplies (still kicking myself for not grabbing one of the several huge collections of embroidery thread on offer) and there are usually some well-priced odds and ends, like 49¢ 3M respirators for house projects, or a box full of 4/$1 wooden mallets (serendipitous, as I needed replacements for one my kid's toys). There's an entire multi-tiered table of water bottles, loads of purses (including a tall bin of drawers packed with small pouches and cable/makeup bags), a wall of caps, a surprisingly large selection of both adult and children's books (50¢ to $1 if unmarked, and kept on separate shelves), board games and puzzles, a small shelf of office stuff, even a chest of drawers full of kitchen utensils. At the counter they have a decent collection of good quality costume jewelry, probably from church members. There are many, many racks of clothing, which are well organized by type and size, and somewhat by color. They're usually fairly priced and sales make for even better deals. They do a good job of weeding out damaged goods, though every now and then their own tags will leave holes--I NEED thrift store staff to stop doing this! I managed quite a haul of baby onesies from the stacked bins in the back; no, they were in no way organized by size as they appeared to be, but at $1 a piece they were some of the cleaner, better quality ones I've found locally. Toy selection was also good with actual useful stuff like sets of blocks and Melissa & Doug baby puzzles, not just balding or naked dolls. I also appreciated the toys being mostly above a child's eye level. Overall this is one of my favorite thrift stores, being well-lit and comfortable, with good restroom facilities, comfortable dressing rooms, and generally fair prices. read more

A woman names Cassie uses Marcus Pointe Thrift store for her personal business. One time I needed to pick up a girls dress that was on varage sale, she told me the Marcus Point Thrift Shop address, when I got there , I thought I was lost because I was expecting to do a porch pick up. So, I inquired and was td that I was in the right place. The lady working there went to the back and gotten the kid's dress for me. Well, it didn't look like the picture. It was faded so I declined and thought of looking for a better one at the thrift store. Cassie revoked my membership with varage sale bec of this incident. I didn't feel bad cause varage sale has gotten junkie anyway. During the first few years, it was a nice sisterhood platform , but since the previous administrators left, varage sale has gone downhill. Marcus Point Thrift Shop is great tho. First visit was pleasant. Dressing rooms are large enough and clean. Employees are pleasant. Cash discount is interesting. I was told they have a frequent shopper card, but no one pitched that to me when I checked out. Clothes were nicely organized and pretty good quality. read more

This used to be one of my favorite thrift stores as they always had decent prices. Now they are the most expensive place in town. Almost everything in here is at or above retail prices for used and abused items. If you want a sampling of their prices, take a quick look at their Facebook page to see what I'm talking about: A used roaster missing the knob so you can't even use it $30, ancient overhead projector $60, dish sets $100. I honestly don't know how they stay in business anymore. They could better support their mission if they priced reasonably not greedily. read more

The store was clean and well stocked. My wife selected several pairs of jeans and was excited about her purchases.

Be careful shopping their sales. I spent two hours tracking down ten clothing items for the 10/$10 sale. (Very picked over inventory). I specifically asked when I arrived if there were any exclusions and was told no exclusions. Then at check out I was informed that items with price tags were not included. ! The volunteers should get their story straight. I won't be going back. read more

Expensive store. There is no "thrift" here, just grift. Thrift means savings, but this store is so price heavy, you don't save any money. Some of the items they sell, like electronics and kitchen appliances are priced so high that you might as well buy the items new. They have an eBay section as well and it's ridiculous. They think they should price everything in that section the same as what you'd find on eBay. What this store doesn't realize or does not care about is that with eBay, you have to source the items (this "thrift" store gets its items for FREE), research the item, clean the item, take photos of the item and list the item. This store does none of that other than look up something on eBay and assume someone will pay that price for a local store. Ridiculous. Just because someone is asking a specific price on eBay does not mean that item is worth that price. This is a common misunderstanding these grift stores don't want to understand. I do not see any benefit to shopping here. They need to remove the "Thrift" in their name and replace it with "Grift." Won't be back. It's a waste of time. read more

Mostly very old and too worn clothing, that should have been discarded or donated to the needy, instead of priced as such. Management should be a bit more selective in putting much of these items for sale. read more
