Have been there a few times in the past. This place is good. The movie was great. I watched another simple favor prior to actually being available to the public. I love that is a pretty close to home. It was pretty busy for a Monday night. Parking space is ample and well light up, which I appreciate. The candy and popcorn area was well stocked and organized. Who doesn't love a good movie night?? Okay, I guess some people don't, but I love it! I know we have big tvs in our homes nowadays, but there is something special about going to a theater...the popcorn smell, the previews, the comfy chairs, and of course the sound in the auditoriums. This theater is clean and has the most comfortable Dream Loungers. I always order my tickets in advance so I have a seat of my choice. You can see a movie and get a personal popcorn for only $5 on Tuesdays. There is a bar/restaurant called Zaffiro's Express that will deliver to your seat if the kitchen is backed up. I had a medium pizza with pepperoni delivered to my seat and it was tasty! Kenneth, a bartender has always been friendly and prompt with service! Overall, I love this theater! I've had a love of movie theaters ever since I was little - a passion so great it eventually drew me into working at one throughout college which additionally lead to me to finding some of my best friends. So, needless to say, I love movies and will get my butt pretty much anywhere to watch some. Having said that, South Shore has always been my number one spot because it was so close to my parents house. But man, this place has really "glowed up." Since it's giant remodel, it's pulling people from far and wide. Every theater has dream lounger chairs which are super comfortable - so much so I've seen other movie goers fall asleep in them. You get the delicious horrible-for-you buttery popcorn and stand candy snacks at this one, but in addition you have Zaffiro's pizza and the Take Five Lounge where you can stock up on some adult beverages before your flick. I've been hitting this place up for great movies since I was like 6 years old and will keep on coming here when I want something on the big screen. read more

We're a big time movie fam. Hence my many reviews of theaters! I would call my experience at South Shore a good one. A typical cinema with typical high priced snacks. But hey, that never stops us. They do a great job of keeping this place clean and up to date. Always a massive bonus when there is an option for the dream lounger recliner chairs! I might almost be to the point where I don't want to watch a movie without em. So thank you South Shore for fulfilling my comfort needs! With 16 state-of-the-art auditoriums, and one SuperScreen DLX auditorium, there is always plenty of movies on offer to pick from. Including family friendly. My suggestion however, is to reserve your seats online ahead of time because often times the sell out. I've made that mistake before. They also have a newly added food and beverage options for casual drinks and dining, and a Zaffiro's Express offering pizza and more. Hot tip: Tuesdays are $5 movie days, so get after it! read more

I've been going here since I was a little kid seeing my first movie (To give you an idea how long ago that was now it was Jurassic Park). The theater has changed a lot since then, but for the better. The seats recline and are incredibly comfy. The Dolby Atmos sound is phenomenal and the HD picture is gorgeous. If you go on a Tuesday a small popcorn is even included (definitely Doughboy approved)! OMG where do I start this is the most nasty unkept theater that I've ever been to ever. When you first walk in there is food every where on the floor, garage , popcorn it's like WTF nobody see this crap. I thought I was going to see a movie (Billie Eilish Live At The O2). Instead I found myself at a teenage rock concert. I had a great seat with nothing blocking my view until about the 4th song into the film when a pack of teenagers decided it was time to stand right in front of my row, form a wall and jump up and down. I was prepared to not hear anything in the film because I know Billie Eilish fans sing incessantly, but I did want to at least SEE the film. So not wanting to be rude to a pack of inconsiderate teenagers, I moved back 3 rows, so the kids could stay blocking the main aisle for the most of the rest of the film (glad no fire broke out cuz we'd all be tripping over them). Someone must have complained eventually, or maybe the kids just decided it would be more fun to go down towards the front row and stand directly in front of the screen for the last 2 songs. I was an inconsiderate teenager myself once, so I totally get why they did what they did, which is why I didn't cause a stink, but now that I'm an old person going to a movie theater to see a movie in a comfortable chair, not to a rock concert to stand on my feet for 2 hours with no view and kids screaming in my ear, I hope no one will berate me for my little rant here. I don't want to begrudge kids having fun, but this was not the Rocky Horror Picture Show, audience participation was not expected. And if they wanted to participate, they could have done so in the side aisles, blocking no one's view of the screen. I wish the management had made some kind of announcement at the beginning of the movie telling everyone to stay in their seats so everyone could enjoy the film. read more

South Shore Cinema is part of the Marcus group of theaters. With that comes: Dream Loungers Not sure why the ability to sit in a recliner at the movies pleases me so much, but it does. It's comfy and fabulous. Other things to love about this particular Marcus theater: +On Sundays at noon and Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm, they have a retro movie series. You can check out family classics like The Sound of Music on the big screen for $5 a person. Super fun! +During the summer months, on Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays at 10am, they have a kid focused family film series with a mere $3 admission. Super fun family weekday outing for stay-at-home parents! +Cocktails/beer/wine during the movie. They have a bar on site and welcome you to grab a cocktail to bring into the show! +I haven't tried it, but they have more robust offerings than your usual popcorn/soda/candy. Zaffiro's pizza can be ordered at the concessions (and then picked up at their pick-up window). Pizza and a movie? Sounds good to me! Their prices (other than their retro and family series) are the usual level of yikes. But, really, that's all theaters. Certainly not unique to them. always busy, South shore...how is it you're always so crowded? The inside is usually manageable but the parking lot has this crazy layout that's a wee bit difficult to get around. But once inside I kind of appreciate the small space, so it's not like you're walking through a labyrinth of movie tunnels (or something). There's a regular concession counter as well as a separate zaffiros window and a full service bar area with separate bar seating. (Pro tip...if you want a soda go to the bar instead of bothering with concession stand.) There's soda stations on both sides of the main concession area. I was once a non-believer on the dreamloungers but now I feel short changed when I go to a "regular" theater. This theater is convenient to the freeway and the whole South Milwaukee/oak creek area in general. They also do $5 Tuesday's (all movies $5) which is a great deal. read more

When it comes to Marcus theaters, we always come to this one. The customer service is good and this one doesn't seem to get as busy, although you can forget it on any $5 Tuesday. Tuesday's stay being packed! We went to a 2:00 showing thinking there wouldn't be many people; wrong. Seats are assigned. You can purchase ahead of time online or when you get there....but for popular movies good luck finding a spot in the evening on a Tuesday. If there's a movie you really want to see but is popular? You better plan ahead because there have been so many times that it's been sold out. Buying online costs you more. There's a $3 service fee. If I'm being really cheap, I just go to the theater and hope for the best. If I know the movie is popular, I just order ahead and pay the extra $3. This theater is pretty big. It has a lot of theaters inside, which means you get more options, which I like. Only the last time we went, we were in theater 6 and this one is my least favorite theater because it's not on The greatest incline. The seats in the back I think get the worst of it. It looks like the other seats were decent. Theater 6 is TINY compared to the other ones we've been in. Clearly they choose which theaters based on times and popularity of the movie... long story short, the heads of the people in front of us blocked the the bottom part of the movie. Nothing too bad, but still annoying. The only food we've ordered are hot dogs and popcorn which obviously was expensive, but that's to be expected. We don't do it often but we have liked both, so no complaints. read more

We love the dream loungers. The theater itself was pretty recently remodeled, but flow is a little odd. Getting popcorn during the busy times is rough on the wait and congestion with all the people eating, and entering and leaving in the same area., but the popcorn is delish. This theater has all the bells and whistles of your standard Marcus theater, Dream Loungers, Zaffiros, a full bar...But where they are lacking is in their restrooms. Their restrooms are probably some of the dirtiest movie theater restrooms in the city. No matter weekday or weekend, if a movie has just let out or I am the only one in there they are disgusting, and do not provide enough hand washing stations. Management needs to focus more on the maintenance of their restrooms. read more

I LOVE Marcus theaters (but only go to those with the reclining chairs). I'm so spoiled by Marcus theaters that I literally will not go anywhere else. But Marcus kicked it up a notch with this one because they also have a bar that you can sit down in and enjoy if you happen to arrive too early for for flick. (Or maybe if it's still working hours and you need to open your laptop and get stuff done before disappearing for a while... not that I've ever done that). My feelings are hurt piss off because I paid $150 for food/snacks and $27 for movie tickets my girlfriend and I saw the movie M3GAN some lame ass scare movie. My problems was their was nobody taking tickets so 60 people walk in without paying to get in. I've been going to see movies at South Shore Cinema for a long time. They've put in some improvements over the years like stadium seating (de rigeur now) and an Arcade. It's a relatively clean cinema and fairly affordable. Came here recently with my son to see the Muppet Movie. The theater was so dark while we waited for the movie to start (no ads, no goofy Hollywood trivia game previews) that everyone remarked it was hard to find friends 30 mins prior to movie time. Sound was good, seats are comfy, wasn't a fan of the father next to me that talked more during the movie than his kids. Could've done without him singing Rainbow Connection, too- that was just creepy. South Shore- A-OK. read more

This is our go-to of movie theaters in the Milwaukee area for a few reasons: 1. $5 Tuesday movies. We go typically 2 times a month and it's made movie seeing less expensive for 2 people. 2. Crowds are more manageable. If you read #1, you can imagine it can get super busy. We live closer to the 27th Street theater, however this is just less nuts on Tuesday nights - likely because it requires driving to it & there's been construction recently. 3. Recliners and reserved seats. This has changed my opinion about movie theaters. When I can book my seat and be assured it's a recliner that is as comfortable as my couch AND I get to see a new release before I forgot I wanted to see it, I'm in. We do use the Marcus movie club and, though we haven't gotten a lot of benefit from it, I'm excited to see how that pans out over time. We also aren't big snackers at the theater, so can't speak to broadly to quality - but there is a snack bar, pizza, food, and adult beverages that seem to make all sorts of folks happy. read more

I am upgrading a full star after tonight. They can't seem to get temperatures right here. The theater I was in tonight was a little smaller but sold out. Because of the sheer number of bodies it was warmer. I also planned ahead and wore long underwear beneath my clothes. With that I was comfortable, but I heard others complain that it was too hot. The Marcus Theater chain has some policies that just lead to inferior customer service. The kids working concessions aren't allowed to make change, as in "hey, can I get change for this $20? I need five singles." The answer is no, they cannot. I have to wait for a manager to come out and be angry about it because their policy is to not make change for customers for "security reasons." Without an explanation this just sounds insulting. Do I look like the kind of person who would try a swindle, a con, try to pass a counterfeit? Okay, maybe I do. I suppose it depends on your stereotypes. But if that's the case, how about just training the people handling money to look at the money carefully? I've worked cash registers before and that's what my training started with, making change and identifying real money from not real money. It's not the kids working the register, they really don't know that they sound rude when I ask if they would make change for me, and in fact, I just wanted to leave the helpful young lady a tip. The other rude policy. The kids aren't allowed to take tips. I suppose maybe they are paid so generously that they don't need tips? This reminds me of Kopp's where they also have a phalanx of young cashiers who are also not very customer service oriented, another food service business that doesn't allow cashiers to make change for customers and doesn't allow their cashiers to take tips. And lo and behold, mediocre patron service. It's a minimum level of customer service, someone needs some dollar bills, crack open the cash register and give the man five singles and fifteen dollars for a twenty so you get a happy customer who can leave a little thank you tip for a young worker. They take twenty dollar bills all night for your overpriced concessions, you can make the change, Mr. Big Rich Mean Corporation. read more

I cannot believe this is the same place I went like 10 years ago! This is usually my second pick for Marcus theatres because I really like Showtime but I think South Shore might start edging it out of first. The dream lounger chairs, amazing! Seriously, I'm actually concerned that a good number of people will fall asleep in these recliners because they are so comfy! The picking your seat when you buy your ticket is interesting. I'm assuming this is to eliminate the option of people hopping from one movie to the next because seats are assigned. I will say it might be helpful to have an usher to show people to there seats. Several people (they were on the older side) had a hard time reading their tickets to see what seat they had picked. Also it wasn't super obvious where the row letters were. A woman had her foot covering the small F when she asked me if I knew what row this was, so yeah that part was a bit confusing. There are also a ton more food options. I can't comment on the food though because it cost more than what I wanted to spend. Overall, great movie viewing experience. read more
