La Ferla has a convenient parking lot for your vehicle and is just a couple of km from the Autostrada exit. And if you're hungry and are looking for a great place to eat, look no further than their restaurant at night. They offer a prix fixe menu that changes daily and the food is really good. You won't be disappointed with the quality or the quantity. They give you a lot to eat for the price, which only excludes wine (and maybe soda). The owners are always on hand working in the kitchen or taking care of the well manicured grounds. They're very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend coming here. I didn't give it a five-star rating only because I would reserve that for a full service hotel. But for the type of place, this place is tops!

The hotel is situated in a typical Italian style building, with lots of other businesses inside. On the 4th. floor they occupy half the floor. They have 9 rooms, all very simple but sufficient. There is no airco, so be careful if you there in the summer (like we did!) and the temperature is above 30 degrees Celsius. It's hot! The busy street is not really a problem, since a lot of the rooms are in a area that is more quiet. Ask for a room in the back and you'll be fine. The owner Augustino and his daughter Rebecca are just wonderful; friendly and very helpful. Augustino speaks a little French and Rebecca speaks German and English. All in all good value for money, the rooms are clean and spacious enough, the beds are good and the service more than good. Big plus: you can park the car in the garage of the shopping mall COIN opposite the hotel for no extra charge if you're a guest of the hotel. And that's a big plus in a city as dense and hectic as Genova! (For some reason the marker on the map for the address shows up further down the road, but it is directly opposite the COIN shopping mall)

The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the train station , a 7 minute ride to the bike shuttle stop, a 10 minute walk to the beach town or beach. They have a great little bar which is nice to meet people open all day and night. They have a nice continental breakfast with eggs but is about the same every day. Rooms are air conditioned and have good bathrooms. The beds were small for me probably 6 feet long and ok but not too comfortable. The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful and set up restaurant reservations and taxi as needed. The WiFi didn't work well for me, sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. Overall an excellent budget hotel and I would be happy to come back.

It was also very quiet, I'm a light sleeper and didn't have any issue sleeping through the night. Excellent coffee bar at bottom level. Nearly every morning I would have an espresso and a croissant. Bicycles available at lobby and the Pietra square is a few minute ride which was really great for shopping, eating, and people watching. Lots of cool old buildings, authentic Italy, I love it. Very large keypad-entry storage and bike room with stand and tools for maintenance and bike cases. World class riding for road and mountain from the location regardless of skill level. Excellent staff, very helpful and kind. A fantastic family owned business. Just perfect.

That's totally fair. However it did mean I couldn't take many photos for Yelp! We stayed one night here while transiting between Rome and Nice. Our room overlooked the square with the Christopher Columbus (boooooo) statue and was literally 30 seconds from the main train station. Our room was beautiful and massive, very comfortable bed and we loved the mechanical blackout shades that blocked sound and light from the busy streets below. The coolest surprise here with the Spa. If your room comes with access like ours did, don't skip out on taking advantage of it. Each room with spa access can book one 1-hour session per day. The spa includes a circuit of hydrotherapy pool, steam room, sauna room, emotional shower (yes really that's it's name), hot stone lounge, and ice sink. Silence is appreciated. There are no phones allowed for the privacy of the other guests which is limited to six people. Bathing suits are required. It was incredibly relaxing and cured quite a bit of travel soreness. Fresh juice, water, and hot herbal tea along with robes and slippers are provided. After our spa visit we hit the bar, it was super swanky and we felt the need to dress up a bit! But it was fun. The bartender provided a very high level of service as we lounged on a gorgeous cream and blue davenport style couch and enjoyed our drinks and nibbles. Breakfast was included and fine, but the buffet felt disorganized and it was awkward trying to order a coffee, there wasn't a dedicated barista so you had to kind of flag someone that was minding the buffet or seating patrons. I would have been happy making my own coffee so this isn't meant to come across as snobbish! But they didn't allow it so it was sort of a problem. If you're in Genoa, I do recommend a stay here. One night was great, two would have been fine, but more than...ehhh. Go venture out to Portofino instead!

The bathroom had every amenity that you could need. We had a walk-in shower and a bath tub. The towels were large and great they also had a warming bar for the towels bath robes, and slippers they have a coffee machine complementary and they give you a bottle of water every day. The TV unfortunately didn't have very many channels in English. I don't understand why they don't put the fashion channel on all the TVs in Italy, since this is a one of fashion capital of the world, the roof floor seven where you had breakfast every morning was a nice way to start your day overlooking the city of Genoa the breakfast was plentiful. Anything you could possibly eat including gluten free products more than I've seen in most hotels, and the homemade pies if you stay here too many days, you would definitely gain weight from that the staff was excellent. You got your own food but they did bring you your coffee, we ate dinner in the restaurant which was the same place where breakfast was it was good but I really enjoyed the Trattoria that also part of hotel which was down the street from the hotel and since we already have been up in the morning and having that great view of Genoa, it was nice if you're staying in the hotel, I would definitely recommend eating in both of the restaurants and if you're not staying in a hotel, but you're in the area they are definitely worth your time to try and definitely make sure you get breakfast included because it was delicious I was happy that they had the restaurants in the hotel because the areas a little seedy remember we are in a train station area but it's very good for walking During the day to all the activities that you will be doing when you're in the city I would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again, and I'm going to check the hotel chain for other hotels in Italy

This is an airport hotel; so it was a very short walk for me with my luggage after arriving at the airport. No need for a taxi -- very short walk couple block walk. Front desk was very friendly and efficient. One front desk member suggested a restaurant in the Centro Storico part which was very good; and he also offered taking the complimentary hotel shuttle to Centro Storico (downtown). That was nice and unexpected - - i thought that I may have to take the train downtown, but a free shuttle was even better! As a Platinum SPG member, i was upgraded to a nice Junior Suite room. Nothing too fancy, but from looking at the map on the back of the hotel room door - - this was the largest room on the floor that I was on. As reviewers on other sites have mentioned, the decor is a bit dated -- so I knew what to expect up front. I couldn't figure out exactly how to control the room temperature - - it seemed like it was always warm. And when I tried to cool it, I think it only got warmer. So i "think" I turned the fan off. Internet speed...so-so. Not the fastest internet, nor the most reliable.... but again, as a Platinum guest it's always nice to have free internet either way. So i can't complain too much there. Smaller and adequate bar downstairs. Friendly service there too - - and love how you get a small smorgasboard of goodies with your drink. I received some chips, olives, and a dish of peanuts. Reading the room service menu, it says that a complimentary continental breakfast is including in the hotel rate w/ a delivery charge of 5EUR per person. I wasn't aware of that either when I was booking the room online, but I think i'll still just go downstairs for the seated breakfast at 6am. Comfortable bed -- friendly service -nice large bathroom with marble floor - very close to the airport, without hearing any airport noise. This property served well it's purpose for me - - a place to rest up before my journey into other parts of Northern Italy.
