Came here as recommended by our tour guide. Wouldn't have been on our radar otherwise. Pizza and pasta on a beach in Spain? No thanks. But the food turnes out pretty good. After eating tapas throughout the trip, it was a nice change of pace dining here. We had the fried anchovies, squid ink pasta, and grilled squid. Everything was on point. The pasta could use more seafood and the squid could be a little more tender, but the flavors were all superb. The menu is huge, and they seem to do many cuisines adequately. The hotel we were staying at, Melia Sky, has an extensive and excellent dinner buffet, but we had a couple of meals here to enjoy the view and atmosphere. read more

We came to this place because it was recommended by our tour guide while on our two night stop in Torremolinos. Loved the location and view, sat in the covered terrace. The live music was really good, not overly loud. But the food was mediocre at best. Or maybe it was just what we ordered because the place was full by 9 pm?? I ordered the osso bucco, yes, maybe a risky choice in Spain. But I was tired of fish and this place did "specialize " in Italian. NOT GOOD! It came out spelling of marinara, first clue that it was not good. Osso bucco should Not be smothered in Marinara sauce! But I tried it anyway. The meat was cold, microwaved probably, and hot marinara poured over it. Took a few bites, don't recommend! My husband ordered the grilled octopus. It was warmed up somehow, but I wouldn't call it grilled Nice presentation on the octopus, the sweet potato mash was good. Overall a disappointing night in a beautiful town. read more

One expects average food on occasion when traveling. This was one of the most disappointing meals I've ever had. The food looked nothing like the pictures. The crust was obviously prepackaged. The margarita was just a cheese pizza. I've had better frozen pizza. Avoid! read more

(12/11/2016) We got into Torremolinos on the late side, Mare was the closest place and luckily open (especially during the low season). Since it's a beach town, it's absolutely dead in the winter. Place was very welcoming, quaint, candlelit, red and white checked tablecloths, decked out for the holidays with Christmas trees and twinkling lights. What really drew me in was the Espeto de Sardinas (salt-rubbed, skewered, cooked over hot coals) cavalierly stuck into a charcoal pit on display for all to see. A great way to get people to come it, and that's exactly what we ordered, they were delicious. Skin was blistered, well-salted, flesh was oily and moist, fresh lemon juice was just the right condiment. The Caprese Salad with Prawns and Anchovies was a sweet and savory mix of flavors, only detractor was the wan winter tomato. The sweet, poached prawns and salty anchovies were really set off by basil pesto and a reduced balsamic drizzle and creamy fresh mozzarella. The Galician-style Octopus tender chunks of octopus with a warming mix of potatoes and onions with sweet Spanish paprika. (12/13/2016) Came back on a second night (after a let down at a different restaurant the previous night) because this was the best place near our hotel, the Melia Costa del Sol. Had another delicious meal, got the Mussels a la Muniere, steamed perfectly, very tender, not overcooked at all, in a savory broth, well worth sopping up with bread. A simple bruschetta with tomatoes and anchovies would've been better with tomatoes in-season, was still worth getting, and don't worry about vampires afterwards (it was super-garlicky). Rounded out the meal with a lovely saute of artichokes with Iberian ham, raisins, and pine nuts, and a piquantly mixed with finely diced red onion and basil chiffonade. A surprising and refreshing dessert was the Olive Oil Frozen Yogurt with Crystallized Honey, was tart, smooth textured, contrasted with the crunchy, earthy sweet honey bits. Read the reviews and was walking towards it when 6 friends from the tour we're on walked past me and said that it was very good and better than the other restaurant they had visited. They enjoyed the food and said that the staff was very friendly. I went in and had a wonderful meal. The Sworc fish was flavorful and not tough. Veggies were cooked well and flavorful. They were having problems with their computer systems and manually doing the checks for a table of 10 was stressful, but they w of raked through it. I thought that they were very gracious. I wasn't rushed and left at closing time. Overall it was a very good experience. read more

This is a great place, excellent house wine thin crust pizza. Service was great go eat here it is right on the beach.
