Stayed here very much so "on a humbug" as my folks might say. I found one heck of a deal online for the week and jumped at it. Really, it was a 3.5 experience but I'm rounding up. I do think this place is sort of a gem if the price is right. My findings below: -pool: clean but on the smaller side. I saw many kids while there Beach area: very nice and clean. You'll need your towel card. Go to the towel hut and request a towel and chair cover. Sometimes they put them on for you, sometimes they don't. The staff on the beach seems to only go out of their way to be accommodating to certain folks but more on that later. Room: I had a King Balcony room. My room was on the side of the building where they're building a new hotel. It wasn't THAT bad. Could you hear construction loudly while on the balcony? Sometimes. Could you hear it from inside the room? Not really. Room cleanliness: pretty good. The balcony needed a good sweep. Very dusty. Had to make a makeshift rug to go in/out. Other than that, the room was pretty clean BUT there are signs of wear/previous water damage such as corners around the bathroom door/tub floor area. Also, the shower button kept falling out and the toilet stopped working while I was there. I added water to the tank and it was fine. Hotel amenities: the elevators are slow AF and one was out of service on my last day. The gym is nice enough. I didn't even attempt the restaurant or bar but it looked nice. The welcome glass of champagne was nice, too. Service: okayyyy, so here's where I'd say work is needed. While I didn't have a direct issue, it'd clear that providing good service to me, was not a priority. I noticed this immediately when I was checking in and the person checking me in asked his colleagues to pour me champagne and the one with the ponytail just looked at me . The person checking me in ended up pouring it himself. I noticed multiple times that the staff didn't speak to or acknowledge me at all. No urgency when dealing with me. I was also like one of four Black people in the hotel. I also don't fluently speak Spanish and the staff seemed excited to chat with/accommodate other guests in Spanish. I know how anti-Blackness works in Miami so I'm giving side eyes because it FELT like that but can't be certain. Balcony: nice view. Nicer furniture needed. As you look around from balcony to balcony, you see there's no consistency. I'd prefer something soft or something to lay on. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. I got great sleep. Housekeeping was very loud when knocking next door despite me having my sign up but probably not much that can be done there. I would stay here again but I'd be curious to see if the service is better next time. read more

Hidden fees and overpriced food really took away from what could've been a great stay. It's frustrating to be surprised by extra charges after already paying a premium price. That said, the staff is extremely nice and attentive--they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The residence itself is charming, and the complimentary champagne at check-in is a lovely touch. The pool is heated, which made for a relaxing swim even in cooler weather. The setting is peaceful and well-maintained, and there's potential here for a top-tier experience. With more transparency around pricing and better value for the food, this could easily be a 5-star resort. For now, I'm giving it 3 stars based on the overall experience. read more

We were very disappointed in our stay, especially the arrival. When I booked the reservation through the Marena's Beach Resort reservations phone number on May 14th, I gave my card number to cover the first nights fees. During this phone call, I was told to bring that card along because it would be charged the remaining balance on our departure. I let my bank know that my card would have a charge in Florida (we live in Nebraska) on May 30 for the said amount so they would allow the charges to go through. When we got to the resort on May 27th, they asked for the card for the " insidental fee". This fee was $200 more than what I was told in my reservation info that was sent to me. It claimed you would hold $100 per night, then refund it after checking out. Also when we arrived, the men at the front desk wouldn't check us in until we paid the remaining balance which I was told wouldn't come out until the 30th, the date I gave my bank authorization to accept that charge. Needless to say, my card was declined and flagged for fraud. When declined the whole demeanor of the men changed. They began speaking in their language under their breath and were getting upset with us. When I finally decided to use a different debit card, they did not want to allow that. I finally got my bank on the phone and was able to get the charges to run. By this time, my kids, husband, and I were felt we were being treated like trash. We were not offered champagne as we watched others check in and toast one after another throughout the course of our stay. The unit had a stunning view but the showers were not clean and everything looked old, dirty, and run down. They whole place seemed as though they'd like to be referred to as a resort, but your "resort" fell short. I feel the place was nice in its day, but has lost all of the luster it once had. The cushions on the loungers by your disgusting pool and hot tub were all stained and smelled bad. The only positive part was the concierge, the pool bar bartender and the gentlemen that assisted us with our luggage. They were so kind and helpful. They treated us with dignity and respect, and I hope that they receive praise for that. The whole experience put a damper on our stay. I couldn't help but wonder if were the target of a scam. None of it set right with us. You must do better. read more

I've been staying at Marenas Beach Resort for the past three days, and I have to say--the customer service here is truly exceptional. From the moment I arrived, Claudia at the front desk (manager) made such a great impression. I got there around 2:45-3:00, and she kindly allowed me to check in early so I didn't have to wait. Most places wouldn't do that, even if your room is ready. She was warm, professional, and I watched her multitask nonstop without ever losing her smile--she's amazing. Later that evening, after hours when the main restaurant was closed, I went to the pool area to grab food. Heidi helped me, and she was fantastic--so friendly, attentive, and just genuinely kind. She made the experience easy and enjoyable. When I got back to my room and got into bed, I noticed small black particles in the sheets. At first, I was concerned, but it turned out to be some kind of sand. I called the front desk, and within 6-10 minutes, Jeremias and Samira came up with fresh, hot, clean sheets. They were both incredibly kind and kept apologizing, but honestly, there was no need. They handled everything so quickly and with such care--it really stood out. Things can happen anywhere, but it's how a team responds that matters, and this team went above and beyond. Every single person I encountered was kind, professional, and truly deserves recognition. This place is well worth more than the 3 stars it is currently at. Great for a quick getaway. For what you pay, it is worth it--ocean front, great service and lovely accommodations. Staff set up your loungers and umbrellas for you on the beach. Valet all the way. The pool is small, but I prefer the ocean anyway. They have lovely outdoor seating that is especially nice at night with the breeze. Staff is nice--offered us drinks upon check in, our room wasn't ready (we were early) so we lounged by the beach and got an email, bartender even gave us some salt and pepper packets for our in room kitchen. We had a 1 bedroom suite with kitchen and balcony with a side view of the ocean. It was clean and well equipped with a full size fridge, full stove and oven with microwave and dishwasher. People complain about the construction next door, but that's not the hotel's fault! Besides, it's barely audible with the waves. There is a Publix grocery store and CVS walking distance. It is about 35 minutes from downtown south beach, but that's ok with me. It's not my scene anymore. You can still got to dinner in south beach and then escape back to your hotel. read more

Stayed Oct 18 to 21 and this was the worst place to stay at. I stay in the area twice a year for over 25 years. Wrong room provided first of all and when asked for the correct room there upgraded me and charged me even though the price of the rooms went down $100 a night. on top of that, there was construction that we were not notified about and it's as a stay to forget. read more

I never knew this was a resort, believed it was a condo when I was a kid passing through in the area. Years later it's actually a resort in a great location. Nestled on the strip of sunny Isles beach, not far from Aventura mall and Bal Harbor shops. Found a deal for Black Friday through Hopper ($698.00), not bad I thought to stay for the weekend after Thanksgiving holiday. Check in was a breeze, I was greeted immediately and was offered complimentary champagne. Upon check in I paid addition$280 (resort fees and deposit). Having high hopes of excitement of a relaxing staycation I didn't mind paying it. I booked the one bedroom suite with ocean view and intracoastal view from room. Entering room, very clean and neat. Personal balcony with a view.. construction site from my view and the beach. Cons: Tv in sitting area did not work, request to fix by maintenance which did show up but was unable to fix. Fridge did not work properly to cool or freeze drinks. Water in shower was cold ( didn't matter what time I showered) Shower head fell in the midst of preparing to shower (was repaired) Bedding was ripped with hole (pillowcase) Carpet had frails (outdated) Pros: easy access to beautiful beach and onsite bar! read more

We loved the Marenas Beach Resort.. our room was clean and lovely. The staff was friendly and accomodating although they never told us that the outdoor pool would not be available when we booked. Still the beach was goreous and more enjoyable than the south beach area. I would love to stay here again. They did book the lower level to an obnoxious group function on the weekend that damaged the elevators. I would love to come here again and try out the pool when it is actually open. read more

NOISY LOUD CONSTRUCTION 6 DAYS A WEEK!!! No one told us and the website said nothing but I'm gonna warn all!! They are building a huge resort next door and all day starting at 7-8am cement trucks are beeping as they reverse, three bulldozers are digging and beeping when they back up, and two cranes are lifting huge rebar columns into the muddy ground below. We were 23 floors up and did not get to sleep in or go out on our balcony to relax the whole time because of the noise. Even the beach was noisy. As we booked thru a third party, we were able (after negotiations) to get a small portion of our fees removed. It was either that or get charged two nights, and at 9am had to be out of the hotel at 11 and booked somewhere else. I don't know about you, but after unpacking, that was the last thing we wanted to do. We booked thru booking.com and the unit was privately owned but we still got the amenities of the resort. Let's talk about that. The beach was nice but there were tons of Portugese Man of War things all over the beach in the morning. These are highly poisonous! The staff at the beach chair area was less than friendly unless you were a young girl in a skimpy bikini. I came down at 750am to get a lounge reserved and they literally made me stand there for 5 minutes (and helped another couple set up their chairs) while they waiting the three minutes until 8. Guermo, (?) was nice and at least let me have a table to put it on while I waited. Also, and this is a big one, the housekeeping staff came into our room while we were out to drop off toilet paper. We did not know they were entering and that is a big no no. I found the staff the treat us with "tolerance," not really friendly but also not nice. I can't count the time I was jumped in line while I was plainly standing there. Construction will last for years, according to the staff. We thought we would get quiet on Saturday and Sunday, but nope. They were there even earlier on Saturday, smashing huge pieces of concrete and beeping all day as trucks reversed. I had to upgrade rooms. I first stayed in Room 2501B...it was one of the worst rooms I've ever stayed in. I hated it so much that I cried. This was supposed to be a birthday weekend getaway but it started so bad! The room was small, felt dirty, the carpet seemed like it had been there forever. The room had a chrome DVD player in it and needed a total makeover.. This room was certainly not worth what I paid and even after trying to change it the night of arrival, I had to wait the next morning..and I literally cried even more. The hallway felt old, gloomy, and cramped. I am so surprised that this room is even an option for a party of 2. They are def wrong for this! Thankfully I was able to upgrade for a charge the next day, and to be honest, it should have been complimentary after staying in that overpriced room that was shameful. However, The upgraded room was so much better. It was a suite with a kitchen, washer/dryer, a biggerTV in the living room and smallmouth TV in bedroom. The hallway was brighter and the room felt clean, bright, and spacious. When I got off the elevator I immediately felt the difference in floors. I booked through a 3rd party as I have many times before. This is the first time that I've felt like a hotel just put me anywhere because of it. Now I'm skeptical of using a 3rd party to book because of this experience, but to be real, it doesn't matter who you book through, this room was simply ridiculous and should not be an option and if it is, it should be significantly lower. (It was 800+ room change fee for 2 nights.) As with many other hotels in the area, there is no privacy on your balcony. But this was a step up from the previous room so I was satisfied. Make sure to avoid the 25th floor unless you ask if they have renovated it! Also, they are doing work on the outside drive up. read more

The Marenas Resort was the host hotel for the out of town guests at a wedding I attended (the wedding itself at an other location). I was a little concerned before arriving after reading some recent reviews but after arriving all of those concerns quickly diminished. We arrived at the hotel around 5 PM and were warmly greeted by the front desk and even offered a glass of champagne. Our room was ready and upon entering our two bedroom unit we were pleasantly surprised on the layout. After a common entry door the until was split into two separate units of a bedroom on one side of the entry hall and another one bedroom full unit on the other side of the entry hall, providing very good privacy for each unit. The larger unit included a full kitchen, two full bathrooms, living room and bedroom, so much space. The other bedroom unit was more typical of a hotel room also with a full bathroom for that bedroom. The rooms were very clean and we had daily cleaning if we wanted it. The unit we had was at the Western end of the building and we had a nice view of the city and a wide area of the Intercostal Waterway. Two things were a little off. The first being there are only three elevators for such a large building and at times the wait for one was a little long. The other was the size of the pool, though having an amazing beach kind of removed the pool from consideration for sitting around. The beach is very wide and the staff was so accommodating in getting chairs and umbrellas. There is also an area with very nice palm tree shade coverage to lounge and have a nice cocktail. One more thing that surprised us was that the lobby bar closes around 9-10PM. We asked about that and was told that this being a condo/hotel type building is why they close early (for Miami standards). This was overall a very nice stay in very nice accommodations and we would return again. read more

I had the most amazing experience at Marena's! I booked the rooftop penthouse to host a a surprise birthday gathering where I popped the question! The manager, Grisel Camile, was professional, proactive, and so accommodating to every single need we had. Her communication was incredible! The pricing was great, the staff was friendly & helpful, the room was GORGEOUS, the food was delicious, and the memories of our engagement were PRICELESS! Marena's Beach Resort gave us a dream come true that we'll always look back on as one of the greatest memories of our lives! I just wanted to clarify that the closer G2 entrance to the walkway to the pool and beach was opened up. You do need your key card to enter back in the building. That made it easier for my last couple of days. I tipped the beach staff well, and they remembered me and took care to set me up away from families and crowds. I got a call while I was in the airport that the ocean front penthouse was not available and they were placing me in a bay front room, compensating by waiving the valet fee and resort fee for one day. However please see the photos of the rooftop of the room they gave me. After calling the front desk at least five times to request the jacuzzi be filled, I was finally informed that it is out-of-order. I paid over $800 to stay here for one night, with my focus on the private rooftop jacuzzi and this is what I got. I asked for a different room and was told there's nothing available. I still have not received any compensation. I would not recommend this place. (Hallways are carpeted and also do not smell fresh.) read more

The Marena is such a beautiful hotel resort, once you walk in you will notice a very comforting and cozy layout of the main lobby, a lot of nice lighting and friendly faces. The interiors of the rooms are well designed with full kitchen all appliances needed, including washer and dryer! Bathroom was ok, shower just needs to be a little stronger. The room looks amazing with a TV that we barely even used, throughout the room there's a high ceiling and it has a nice modernistic beach resort look, not to mention a breath taking view of the ocean and the city from the balcony. Very small things that needed to be fixed, throughout most of the time, service was good, but I had to call more than few times for them to handle some fixes needed. Other than that other services were spot on like valet was prompt and always ready, and their services at their main lobby bar was amazing. Look for this bar tender named Leo, I have to say in my own opinion, he makes one of the best mojitos I ever had and other very tasteful drinks to get you ready for the beach. The water is literally right there, and they have a nice small lounge with a day time dj including another small bar downstairs right next to an outdoor pool before the beach. They have great services outside too, the guys there ask you right away if you need an umbrella and beach recliners. Gym was small but had all the equipment needed to keep your beach bod in shape. If you got the package deal with breakfast included, every morning you get a free breakfast. Make sure to ask for breakfast vouchers when you check in, if not it will become a hassle. The hotel/resort is a time saver, the location is so convenient with surrounding Restaurants and convenient stores within walking distance. Overall the Marena has been a pleasing experience, if it weren't for a small mishap with one of the front desk and some things not working in the room I would give this a 10, so I'm giving the Marena a 9 out of 10. read more

Upon arrival, we were not assisted with our luggage as we saw so many that were, despite there were two men standing there in the booth as we unloaded our luggage.   Our room was not ready at the 4pm check 8n time and had to wait an hour to finally get in our room. Cynthia Perez the guest services manager is rude and has no idea how to actually give customer service. There were dirty dishes, utensils, and mold in the bedroom bathroom shower. The gym bench was falling apart and the stench of marijuana was so strong in our hallway that it lingered in our room, We decided to check out early. Romina, the hotel GM is just as bad. Does not respond to inquiries. I guess its because there are so many bad reviews online for this Motel. Thats exactly what it is, a motel. NOT a resort. read more

Very bad experience here. This is a terrible, horrible establishment. I wish we knew this before we traveled here. We came into town to visit family and had to deal with some rude manager Roberto arguing with our family and supporting his staff Cammy or something physically assaulting them over TOWELS they were told to take! I have never heard of such a thing especially somewhere supposed to be upscale. The police had to be called to investigate as Roberto kept the ghetto maid working on the same floor after her crime. We would NEVER return. It is unthinkable to have to encounter such insincere hotel management, poor customer service, and low class behavior from employees for the prices they try to charge. I absolutely loved my stay here Marie and Marcela were the two desk clerk's they made sure my stay was exceptional this hotel is lucky to have them both. I travel a lot and always stay in hotels and I have never been treated as great as these two ladies treated I will definitely stay here again thanks to them. Spent a good amount of money to stay at this hotel/resort. The term resort means a place where you can get everything done without wanting to leave. Marenas hotel/resort is not that place. I could not wait to check out. The advertisement said ocean view, what it should have said was partial ocean view. See pic for my view. I went to take a shower Friday morning around 8am and wouldn't you know it, no hot water. I called the front desk and the apologized and said they would look into it. At a little after 1pm I received a call back to tell me I now had hot water. 5 hours later. Not real happy about that. No comp, nothing. If I could give this place minus stars I would. Let's get back to the Resort. The reason they call it a resort is because they charge a $45 a night resort fee. They also have a small restaurant plus a small pool. The parking is done by a Valet only. The fees for that are also part of the "resort" $30 a night. Beware of this place. Would not stay there again if it was free. First of all this place sucks - the entire experience of entering the hotel with their scumbag valet tactics leave you with a nickel n dime feeling. Then their lobby and their tiny bar compared to the 30 stories towner it's in makes you feel like your being cheated out of a true luxury hotel experience but your stuck with the bill. Their fees for the beach access and pool is a joke - I wouldn't step an inch into their dirty pool "pond" ever. The other issues they have is they charge fees for everything like getting towels replaced $12 REALLY??? And if you stay for a few days - we stayed 4 we had some Amazon packages deliver to get new swim wear and they charge $5 per delivery we ended up with 5 small soft Amazon bags so they added $25 to the bill.... Do yourself a favor and book anything else - this place is a smelly heaping pile of rotting garbage!!! read more

I will start off by saying the Hotel View and room is beautiful. If you are looking for a nice spot on the beach but not on SOBE this is a great area. You can enjoy the perks of a beautiful view. However I am rating this hotel based off of service. I don't know why but we (me and bae) were consistently treated poorly by staff. To start we arrive at the hotel at noon and are told check in isn't until 4pm. What hotel does this? 4pm? With an 11am check out??! Like we couldn't put our stuff in the room. Bae ended up tipping the front desk staff and well we checked in at 12:30pm because of his tip but dang why did it take that? Next we get to our room and there are zero toiletries and only one wash cloth. Had to ask for towels, lotion, tooth paste, and just basic necessities that even Motel 6 provides. We then go to the beach. Bae orders drink. Pina Coladas that were $15 a pop plus %30 gratuity that might as well been virgin. Then we went to happy hour and encountered another very rude bartender who was very short with every answer. Okay, so I have to mention that we are black and as much as I try to ignore that this may have factored into our treatment, I think there may be something to it. We shouldn't have to prove our worth by tipping you well even when you take advantage of our business. Do better. read more

It was a busy weekend and our room wasn't ready for over an hour, we were almost late to our dinner. Nothing offered for our inconvenience. No room service, no maid service, and when you call to tell them anything is not working they never show up when they say they will to fix it. The Marenas Resort looked like an outstanding place online to stay. My first impression was that the in the images of the hotel I had found online were not the same in person. The hotel in the pictures presented to be somewhat secluded from others. But there were in fact 2 larger towers extremely close to the hotel. Pulling into the hotel was eye opening. We had driven up a spiral driveway with well kept beautiful grounds and a very welcoming valet. Normally I'm not a fan of being forced to use valet, but there was no parking lot. Checking in was a very fast and welcoming process. Since it was our first stay the hotel had upgraded us to a suite with no extra charge. The suite was very beautiful inside. All decently sized rooms. We had a full kitchen, living room, Full sized bathroom and bedroom with a king size bed. The balcony was off the living room and enough to fit 3-4 people comfortably. The down side to the room was there were a couple light bulbs out, the sliding door to the balcony had to be muscled open and the housekeeping was horrible. Housekeeping didn't come till about 3:00pm. Every day we had to ask for towels because they would take the old ones but forget to leave new ones and we had found the bathroom trash on the kitchen counter another day. The restaurant in the hotel was pretty decent. The wait staff was great and the menu had some great selections. The prices in the restaurant were very reasonable. The only down side is that from the website the restaurant looks like it's a separate area when in fact it is right in the main lobby. The pool seemed to be loaded with sand each day because it was right on the beach. The beach staff was great offering towels, beach chairs and umbrellas. The beach was very well kept and always being maintained. The one down side was the beach would be shady by 2-3p and so would the pool area. If your spending the day on that beach I recommend getting out early to get the best pick of beach chairs. The bar staff at the beach complaining the entire time about how hot and slow the day was. As she was making our drinks the bartender had been talking to the waiter at the bar about the pimple he had on his face. After paying $30 dollars for 2 Pina Coladas we had noticed later that the drinks were only supposed to be $8 a drink. Overall the experience of the resort was "Ok". The next time I visit it will be at a different resort. read more

I came here to visit a friend. I have never been fond of the idea of hometown getaways - but that changed after this past weekend. There seemed to be a lot of families in this place but i have to say that the room layout is ideal for couples looking for an intimate weekend. I can't say exactly what it was but something about this beach view suite felt sexy. The bedroom has a full wall window with a view of the ocean - this is my absolute favorite thing about this place and it should be a requirement for any ocean front resort! The glass didn't seem to have any sort of tint but who cares, leave the curtains open, live a little. I also really liked the bathroom, maybe because it's got enough space to play twister in it. There is this "seat" at the end of the tub, i'm assuming for geezers, but youngsters could find a good use for this - lay a towel on it, obviously. It was also the nicest smelling bathroom i've ever been in and i couldn't figure out where the hell it was coming from. Everything in this room was just the right height... they even had 2 peep holes - good selling point for those with kids or the "shawties" so they can avoid that stranger danger. There is also a decked out modern kichenette which was really nice. The parking situation could be rough. Overnight valet is about $30 so aim for a package with complimentary valet service. The only other option is public metered parking which is about 1/4 mile north of the hotel and goes for about $2 an hour. The pool area is pretty small but there is plenty of water and space for sunbathing on the beach. The hotel overall is really clean and housekeeping is fairly quick. Marenas Beach Resort - "Look what i can do!" - Resorts Near Me - Sunny Isles Beach, Florida

The Marenas was a great place to stay for a week during the summer - got the room through an Airbnb rental (different Airbnb room/host from Jessica R.). I'll start with the cons first: Upon our Lyft arrival the bag handlers of the hotel opened our doors which was nice and welcoming start, however we later discovered someone left one of our bags in the car which had my mother's diabetes medication which was a HASSLE to get back. I understand they may be tired, but they didn't do their job properly and that's not ok. We would've happily carried our own bags with no problem. There was a male employee in particular who also seemed a bit arrogant and standoffish who worked behind the desk, said he didn't have time to assist us with something the first day we entered the room and implied we should figure it out. Pfft. Whatever, have a slice of humble pie. All the other employees were friendly though. They took extra money from our credit card because they thought we were using valet parking, we didn't own a car, so that had to be refunded. Wasn't refunded until the end of our stay. On the plus side, the room itself felt like home away from home. The king bed was super super comfy, clean sheets, clean pillows, TV (multiple cable channels) right in front of the bed plus the big open windows with that Miami beach view were wonderful to wake up to in the morning, and take in during night time. Living room also was equipped with an extra TV and comfortable couch & chairs. Kitchen came fully stocked with a coffee maker, microwave, pots and pans, dishwasher, cleaning essentials, toiletries, etc. Washer and dryer inside. We didn't have to ask for anything. Bathroom was clean and relaxing with a back seat shower if you wanted to sit down. Balcony had a great view but we didn't use it too much, chairs could stand to be replaced since they were a bit worn but that didn't bother us. Not a lot of restaurants near the area so you'll either have to use Uber Eats app (or any food apps) on your phone or take the bus to a mall area nearby. I don't recommend the hotel restaurant strictly on the basis of it being too expensive nor do I recommend the restaurants directly across the street (food sucks). This is not a resort. It is an old condo building that scabbed on some low rent amenities to pass off as one. The pool is terrible, the service is terrible, and there is not really a restaurant. Recently stayed the night here just for a day (thankfully). This hotel looks great online but honestly it definitely does NOT meet your expectations! Of course when u first walk in and you see the lobby your thinking it's going to be a nice stay. The view from our room was nice. We didn't have a ocean view it was more of a city view but it was still nice. The room didn't seem clean it looked like someone just tightened up the things. Anyway, We decided to go down to the hot tub and that's when things went down hill.. First to get the towels we had to go all the way to the lobby and get them from the front desk. The hot tub wasn't hot at ALL it was barely even warm. And it was dirty it has bugs floating all in it. The pool looked like a backyard pool nothing special about it. The extremely small bar by the pool wasn't even open. Went back to the room to take a shower and the water took I kid you not, 15 minutes to get hot, with extremely low water pressure. It was just a disaster. After problems with valet, less than average pool, the ridiculous "warm tub" and shower issues we were so ready to check out The reason why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the staff overall was very nice and apologetic of the issues we faced. The moment you drive up your greeted with Palm trees & aquatic waterfalls. Valet & check in was pleasant & fast. I was kindly upgraded to a suite. Our room has an amazing view to both the bay & ocean. The suite is spacious with a full kitchen, living room, & bathroom. The beach attendant was friendly. Towels & chairs are provided. The bar guy got lost & never came with a menu. We waited at the bar & there was no bartender to be found. Other guests were complaining. Tg eye had been waiting for their burger over 45 minutes. The outside bar/food attendants need more employees. Its a shame that such an upscale hotel has slow poor service. read more

Terrible experience, first we get in a room which the AC took for ever to get cool. Then the room has a fridge that doesn't get cold. The room doesn't have a bucket for ice so we call front desk to bring us one and they say they don't do that. We decide to go out and on our way back into the hotel we ask front desk for the bucket of ice... the girl says they will send one up to the room. (What happened to we don't send ice to the rooms?) Moving forward when i made the reservation it says 11am check out and we had house keep knocking at the door at 10am. Last but not least we have security come on a PA system talking about disregard an alarm, REPEATEDLY, that we never heard. Terrible experience. The only reason i even give 2 stars is because the valet was very nice and we had a nice view read more

Avoid the resort's Epicure Restaurant unless you are a gourmand of false advertising. The menu boasts eight flavors of gelato. In fact they have no gelato at all, just chocolate and vanilla ice cream. The menu also promises fried calamari "and fresh salad" for $15. There was zero salad. The server told my girlfriend that was a "typo" in the menu, but she could order and pay for a side salad if she wanted one. There are plenty of good restaurant options in Sunny Isles Beach that actually deliver what they show on their menu. Avoid Epicure. read more

My friend and I stayed at Marenas over a January weekend. We were coming from Chicago and our goal was to relax. The Good: The room was clean, comfortable and the view was amazing! We got a 2 room suite with a kitchen and it had everything everything we needed. There were a couple of small cosmetic updates which could be done but it was CLEAN and not outdated. The staff at Marenas were all very nice. Not that great: If you stay in a room facing north/northeast be prepared to be woken up around 6am by bulldozers and constant honking by construction machines Mon-Friday. The pool is small. There really is not any great restaurants or shopping, besides a Publix, within walking distance. If you want to stay close to the resort, take a $7 Uber to Adventura Mall. If you stay at the resort during the wInter, be prepared for the sun to disappear over the building at 1:30pm. Other places did not have this problem farther down the beach. Not the resorts fault... I would probably not stay at Marenas again, but We had a very nice and relaxing weekend read more
