More than once they have billed me or my wife for services we neither asked for, were informed of, or approved. When I've brought this to their attention and asked them to waive the bill for these unauthorized services, they stone wall me or give me the run around by claiming it's an insurance coding issue or tell me to work it out with my insurance company. Incredibly frustrating. And they threaten to send the bill to collections. This borders on insurance and medical billing fraud.

When I tried to make an appointment to see her, the office called and rescheduled me FIVE TIMES before I finally got in to see her. Dr. Nelson seemed dismissive of my concerns and trying to get a referral from her is like pulling teeth. I recently turned 40 and requested an ultrasound and mammogram to establish baseline health and to address some ongoing issues, both of which Dr. Nelson refused as "unnecessary." We scheduled a follow up visit and after showing up for my appointment, the front desk had no record of me in their system but managed to get me in the following week. When I showed up for that visit, the MA mentioned I had called and requested labs (I had not) and handed me a form to verify with a completely different patient's name and signature. I spoke with Dr. Nelson and asked again about getting an ultrasound and mammogram. After some frankly unnecessary resistance, she gave in and order the ultrasound but referred me to a dermatologist (?) instead of ordering a mammogram. I had the ultrasound and - like I had suspected - the results came back abnormal. I still haven't been able to see the dermatologist because they didn't receive the referral despite me messaging Mednow over a week ago. I am very upset and annoyed!

Now I have seen that there are a number of complaints about having to wait in office for appointment times and this is a legitimate concern. However, different than other Doctors I have had in the past, Dr. Malabre is very thorough going over your medical chart and your medical concerns. He remembers you and is warm and personable. Never has he cut the appointment short and told me we could not cover my concern and I'd need to make another appointment for another day, something that is all to common with other Doctors, these are the reasons that his appointments run long. I learned to realize and accept this as the price I pay for the sincere concern and care I receive. I chose to either make the earliest appointment in the morning or the first one after lunch. If I need to make an emergency appointment and can not swing either of those time, I realize I will be spending time with my phone or a book. So if you're honestly just looking for a doctor that processes you and gets you in and out of his office in a timely manner, then the complaints are probably something you will heed. If your objective is someone who really listens, cares and treats you - then you accept that the extra time he takes with others and the extra time he takes with you results in some extra waiting in the waiting room. For me, more than well worth it. (Again, that trick about first appointment in the morning or after lunch just Solves that) I also LOVE the Staff. Thank you all for your great Care and friendliness.

I take him to most appointments and have listened in on many phone conversations with the receptionist, Cheryl, she is the RUDEST person I have ever encountered, especially for someone in the medical field that deals with a lot of senior citizens, they deserve a little patience, understanding and, above all RESPECT. SHE HAS NONE OF THAT! She does not give the full information required by my FIL to get his meds refilled when his appointment was cancelled by the Dr. but he still needs his meds filled, she gives him all the wrong info and then gets rude and nasty with my FIL, yells at him for the mistakes she had made and hangs up on him numerous times in a day! This is not the first time this has happened but as I said my FIL is 80 and is not about to change Docs anyone can make it past her then your time might be worth it because of the Dr. It's extremely upsetting to me to think that Dr. Kennedy allows this receptionist to treat his patients so foul. He needs to weed out the bad and bring in some receptionist that can handle this type of work and has more compassion for the elderly!
