Margaritas Mexican Restaurant is a well decorated and very vivid colored establishment that offers a unique twist on Mexican food in Maine. The menu has a fairly wide selection of appetizers, entrees, and deserts. The Barria Taco plate was served with 3 tacos and a small portion of pineapple. The Blackened Salmon Fajita platter came with a full skillet of bean, Spanish rice, 4 oz of Salmon, and a fair amount of sautéed onions and peppers. Additionally the meal came with an additional plate filled with salsa, cheese, fried pineapple, guacamole, sour cream, and pickled peppers. Collectively the food was flavorful, well prepared, delicious, and appealing to the eyes. The waitress was kind and very busy. It took roughly 45 minutes from the time we ordered food until it was served. Due to the waitress being so busy, they made minimal visits to the table. 8/10. We will be making another trip to Margaritas for another delicious meal soon enough.

Tough time deciding if they should be a three star or four star review. There are a lot of hits and misses with this visit. First off, the waitress was super sweet and had our drinks refilled as needed, and kept our chips and salsa full. She really was the deciding factor on four stars. I had a grilled chicken and avocado salad with grilled vegetables, spinach, and quinoa that was very good. I would totally get this again. Very flavorful with a light dressing. The quesadillas that my dinner mates ordered weren't so successful. They were small and left my son and husband hungry for more food. Flavor was fine, but nothing special. The chips, while light and crispy, tasted like the fry oil may need to be replaced. Not sure that I would be back to this location except for that salad.

I ordered the tacos Americanos, which were wonderful. The complementary salsa and chips were also great. The food came relatively quick which I liked. It was a bit loud at first, but gradually quieted down as it got later. Waitress was very nice. Overall great experience.

The food was delicious and the service was great. I order the loaded skillet nachos for the 4 of us and it was so good i regrets shearing them lol jk. It was delicious i do highly recommend this nachos. I also order the combo fajitas add shrimp. I usually don't like the mexican rice and i was hesitance to try it here but i was glad i did it was fresh not hard and the taste was amazing. The steak in the fajita was soft and well seasoned. Our waitress was very attentive and the rest of the crew in the restaurant were very friendly . The ambience was nice not to loud but not to dead, I will definitive go back. My complements to the chef.

I'm so grateful for how seriously margaritas is taking COVID precautions. All of the employees are properly wearing masks, they have an optional outdoor seating area, and they have spaced out tables indoors to keep people apart and safe. Of course I love the waitstaff you pieces and today's service was no different. Allie was attentive and friendly. Lastly, I am so glad they finally brought back the Jalapeño Baby Chimis. If you're a Jack Crisp fan, sorry to disappoint, it's recently been exiled from the menu.

Shrimp fajitas were good with lots of food. Lost a star because both margaritas were weak - could barely taste the tequila.

I really hope this restaurant stays. I have one concern.....the parking, yes, for the customers, but more so for the restaurant staff. Restaurant staff are getting parking tickets. What's the point of working downtown if all restaurant staff tips go to paying parking tickets? I suggest the owners of all the restaurants downtown talk to the city of Lewiston, and ask if restaurant staff could get a free pass to the garage after they show proof of employment. Go to impress parents or similar if you are a college student. For quality and price, based on our experience, would not do again. Overcooked eggs, grudging portions, mix and match plateware that just confounds (bacon and eggs in a bowl - really? but only for one person in the party?). The menu is also misleading. The fabled "hash of the day" turned out to be just a pile of ordinary unremarkable overcooked and unseasoned home fries. The same side everyone else had for free, but costing some part of the wallet-stretching $21 in the context of the all-in "165" breakfast - two overcooked over-easy eggs (no seasoning), a slice of thin sourdough bread cut in two, a pile of indifferent home fries and two of the smallest pieces of bacon you can imagine. $8-12 in any self-respecting diner in the country, and typically made with far more care and flavor. When asked how plain ordinary home fries were a "hash of the day" when they were also unmentioned sides for other dishes, the waitress shrugged and said "it's a KIND of hash. We call that hash here." Touche. Should have asked more questions. And the toast is a single piece of seemingly storebought sourdough bread cut in half (no evidence here, just disappointment being expressed). No substitution, no extras. Pretty much no butter, either. Another member of the party had the blueberry pancakes, Thick and heavy, and unremarkable, once again. Any diner does it better - for half the price. Timing was a serious issue too. The dining room was somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 full. 3-4 tables in other words. Still took well over 45 minutes to get food. Watched 2 pairs of other diners come, order, eat, pay and leave as we waited, Food came cool with no explanation or apology for the long wait. Small complaints perhaps, but at this price, they are making bold claims and utterly failing to match up. Breakfast should be a lay-up for places like this. The ingredients cost almost nothing and the work involved is strictly short-order, simple, fast-turn work in a relatively uncrowded dining room. No reason to go light on ingredients or on flavors. Breakfast is an easy meal to wow in aplace like this, and New England has traditions to uphold - and yet the establishment clearly did not see the point in putting in the effort to match their prices, decor, or location. The capper was watching the tables cleared by a surly teenager in stained board shorts and stained tshirt and sneakers with unwashed hair in a beautiful dining room. The young man clomped in and would withdraw 1-2 plates at a time before stomping out, taking over ten minutes to clear a single table. Overpriced and under-quality. It's for tourists. Beautiful building, though.
