As a first-time cruiser, I was honestly reluctant to take a cruise and probably never would have if my loved ones hadn't talked me into it. I'm so glad they did! We sailed on the 7-day cruise to Key West and the Bahamas in April aboard the Margaritaville at Sea Islander, and it exceeded all of my expectations. The ship is absolutely beautiful, the food was excellent, the entertainment was fun, and every member of the staff we encountered was friendly and welcoming. We also thoroughly enjoyed our shore excursions, and the embarkation and disembarkation process was surprisingly smooth and easy, making the entire experience stress-free. If we lived closer to Tampa, we'd be booking a cruise on the Islander every month! We went on a 3 day adventure for our 1st Margaritaville and Sea Cruise! Boarding was a breeze! The staff was super friendly and they had us on board shortly after we arrived. At 1st glance that ship was very clean and fresh. Plenty of smiling faces around and everyone was happy to be there. As per the usual we had to get acquainted with the ship and find our muster station. (that was easy) Now on to some food and drink. It was raining but we made the best of it and most did. Room time! Spacious and well kept. Large port window and the standard bedding. (We did NOT have a fridge!) We asked our porter and he said "it was broken so they removed it" WHAT!? Ok :( The club was great every night and the white party even better! This is a small ship but still a fun ship. First and LAST time on a Margaritaville cruise. The port parking was easy to find. We parked and checked our luggage with the porter. We entered the terminal to check in. Check in was easy but busy. We were assigned the time between 12pm-1pm to check in. Once on the ship, it was down hill. We went to our muster station, which was not labeled to find easily. Completed our muster. Then we went to get lunch from the buffet. The options were limited at the actual buffet area where you serve yourself. They had the buffet, cheeseburgers, tacos, pizza, and sandwiches. The food was mediocre at best this day and throughout the week. It was a struggle to find something to eat that was edible and tasted good. Even the jello was tasteless. Once our room was ready, we went to it. Luggage was not there upon arrival, but it arrived shortly after. It was a struggle with the AC in the room from the moment we checked in. We told our room steward immediately, who said once the ships sets sail, the air would work better. That never happened. It was consistently warm to hot in our room. Guest services was notified a few times via phone and in person. But it was not fixed. Not even sure someone came to our room. We waited several times but we never made contact with the person who came to "fix" it. We made the best of it but it was not comfortable at all. Most of the time we were hot and sweating at night and while in our room getting ready for the day or dinner. Mohamad was fantastic! He was our room steward. He took amazing care of us and our room. Our room was always clean and we always had fresh and clean towels! Entertainment was lacking for sure and limited. There was a lot of time where there was very little to nothing going on and to do. The excursions through the ship were limited as well. We picked to do the Margaritaville Resort in Nassau. We walked off the ship and through the port to transportation. This part was easy and well organized. The resort itself was clean and the staff were friendly. The pool was nice and not crazy crowded. The beach was another story. Absolutely packed and barely room to walk down to the waters edge. Not sure if it's only for Margaritaville Resort guests and day passes or if it's open to the public too. Drink package felt pricey at $360 for 4 days, and this was on sale. We had two port days, one embarkation day, and one sea day. I would NOT ever cruise again with Margaritaville. read more

My wife and I went on this cruise to celebrate her birthday and had a great time. The service was very good, even though some of the of the staff didn't have the best English skills and were difficult to understand. There's plenty of food options, ranging from cheese burgers, pizza, tacos, buffet style dining and even more upscale dining, for an extra charge. There are plenty of activities on board and you can find something fun to do, or just lounge out on the pool deck and soak up some sun. They don't spend a lot of time in Key West or Grand Bahama, but it's enough time to go on an enjoyable excursion. read more

Margaritaville Cruise is a great option if you're looking for an affordable getaway with friendly, incredible staff. The shore excursions were reasonably priced, and for $219 for a four-night cruise to the Bahamas and Key West, you really can't beat the value. It's a mix of people mostly older 50+ with some younger folks mixed in. That said, this is definitely a budget cruise line the food and entertainment are pretty mediocre. Dinner is offered in one main restaurant with a three-course sit-down meal, which is nice for the experience and service, even if the food itself is just okay. Rooms can be small, with a Murphy bed and one larger bed. Best part is the mixology course if you can get Vlad to teach it. $35 and you make 4 mini cocktails and a full size one you pick ingredients for. Lots of indoor and outdoor bars to choose from. Drinks are pricey ($10-11 for wine, $15 for cocktails), and gratuity is added on, which is something to factor in. Overall, if you're going in with the right expectations and want a fun, affordable escape, this cruise delivers! read more

I truly enjoyed my 4 days on this ship! As someone who has only taken cruises as a child, it was nice to take this one, and take it solo! My room was nicer than I expected from what I knew of Margaritaville, with a large, super comfortable bed, plenty of seating and storage space, a mini fridge, and ample closet space. The bathroom was stocked enough for two however, I didn't have any shower gel. My room attendant, Nanda, corrected that right away. I loved the shower, although the warning listed inside about the water temperature is VERY necessary! Please make sure you check as I almost melted my skin off lol. The food on the ship was right up my alley, with several themed restaurants if you wanted sushi, burgers, steak, or fine dining. Or you could check out the buffet, serving meals from 6-9, 1-3, and 6-9pm. Everything was good! The ship wasn't ready for the heat though, with the ice machine not being able to keep up with everyone. While I didn't go on any excursions, I did participate in shipboard activities, such as the mixology class, bingo, the white hot neon rave party, and the singles mixer. There's a few things that just needed a touch of salt, but there's salt on all the tables! For the bacon lovers, they didn't have any bacon for breakfast on any of the days. I love that they had different food options every day for lunch, dinner, and dessert. I'd recommending trying a small scoop of everything!! Fins: The menu changes daily, so I have photos of 2 different days menu's. You can tell they are short staffed. Our server forgot to bring us butter twice and refill our waters multiple times as well. - spring rolls 7/10. Not bad, cooked good. Dipping sauce was flavorless though, soy sauce would have been better. - Mississippi braised brisket 10/10. Super tender. Good flavor. Good cook. - Key lime sponge cake 8/10. Mine was super wet and syrupy, but my friends was dry. Not consistent. - Ahi Tuna: cured not fresh - Antigua Shrimp 8/10. Cooked good but didn't love the sauce flavor. - fins up Chocolate cake 6/10 didn't love this at all. One bite was enough. JWB Steakhouse: the cooks don't really know how to cook steaks properly it seems. All 4 of our steaks were overcooked. - Caprese 7/10. The balsamic was missing, but the pesto dollops were super delicious.i didn't love having two different types of tomatoes in there, but everything was fresh and tasted good. - Steak tartar 10/10 Really good and fresh! Good citrusy flavor. - lobster bisque 7/10. It was cool, the compound butter they had in the bowl, then poured the soup over it at the table. A neat plating technique. You can tell they homemade the dressing cause it was super fishy tasting. - ribeye, Med rare 9/10. sent the original back cause it was overcooked, but the second one they brought was actually really good. It was seasoned good and had really good flavor. - Filet, med 7/10. Again, overcooked. It was just ok. Got the chimichurri to go with it, which really was not very good either. - Key lime cheesecake 8/10. Not bad. - Banana cream pie 5/10. Actually not a very good banana cream pie. - "Honeymoon" cake 8/10. Not too bad. Don't love the ganache on the outside but the rest was pretty good. DRINKS: - NA: Water, juice, and coffee are included and in the buffet area. Soda and alcohol is not. - Alcohol: The 5 cans/bucket is a great deal, and the $10 cocktail of the day. Otherwise, they're pretty pricey if you buy them one at a time all day. Again, drinks are free while youre actively gambling in the casino. As a regular Florida boy and cruiser, I was pleasantly surprised on my first Margaritaville cruise. I stayed onboard the entire trip and enjoyed the entertainment, staff, and food during all 3 nights. I was even surprised at a vegan protein-packed breakfast item provided - beans and tofu. Honest Review of Margaritaville Cruise (Port of Palm Beach to the Bahamas, 10/24-10/27) My wife and I have cruised with Margaritaville four times now, but this most recent trip fell short compared to our past experiences. Parking & Check-In: They now charge $75 for self-parking, and you have to walk a block or two depending on your assigned area. In the past, they parked the car for you, so paying that much to park it yourself felt unnecessary. Check-in, however, was smooth and organized. Ship & Staff: The ship is definitely showing its age -- it needs a deep cleaning, fresh paint, and rust touch-ups. Some areas looked worn, and even a few staff uniforms had holes. The overall energy from the crew was lower than usual, which makes me think they might be short-staffed or overworked. What really bothered us was finding extra tip charges added on top of the automatic 20% gratuity, plus receipts signed by other people under our room number -- which is unacceptable. We always tip in cash, so we knew these weren't ours. After going back and forth with guest services and showing our receipts, they eventually fixed it, but it took time and effort. It was frustrating and another sign that service quality has slipped. Food: Food was decent but basic. The buffet and grill offered the usual burgers and hot dogs. "Fins" had a nicer setup but limited wine choices. The "Prime" steakhouse side felt more upscale and had better wine options. Overall food rating: 2.5/5. Entertainment & Activities: The comedy show and live entertainment were the highlights of the cruise. However, I didn't like that they now charge to reserve cabana chairs -- most sat empty anyway. With the cruise already paid for, it feels like an unnecessary upcharge. Ports & Excursions: Freeport was relaxing, and you can find cheaper excursions off the ship at a nearby office. Nassau was more crowded and had a flea-market vibe; we didn't feel very comfortable walking around there. Room Steward: A big thank-you to Nanda, our cabin cleaner. He went above and beyond to make sure our room was spotless and that we had everything we needed. He had great energy and represented the type of service that makes guests want to come back. I enjoyed most is the 2 port stops: Nassau and Bahamas, better to take a shuttle taxi with a small group or you can avail the excursion tours (minimize time) just head to deck 5 to avail. Pleasantly surprised this cruise my Husband and I sailed the 2 nights cruise to Nassau, Bahamas was very affordable definitely bang for buck! The room was an ocean view and larger than other cruises we have been on! Very comfortable, no complaints! The drinks were great! My husband or I wasn't a fan of the buffet food or pizza but the Fins Dinner food, sandwiches, tacos , and cheeseburger paradise were great! The entertainment was nice loved the shows , alcohol tastings, & casinos "loved that there was no smoking in there"! The staff were very friendly & helpful! Some things they need to approve on especially their emergency plan for the mustard stations this process was all over the place no as clear as it should be! Also some hidden fees which wasn't bad for 2nights but couldn't imagine 4 or 6nights with these charges not being clear! Overall the cruise is nice and great for all ages! Will sail again! My wife and I are 2 nights into a 4 day cruise. This boat is a step down in every way possible. The food is fit for state prisons. The one thing that had a positive effect was the sandwich station. Even they ran out of ingredients for certain sandwiches. The room had 1 working electrical outlet. A large leak under the carpet by the restroom. 2 small backyard sized pools and 2 cold "hot tubs". We paid for an all day experience with unlimited drinks $150 per adult, when we get to the boat ride that they only travel back to the cruise ship at 130 pm. So now my all day drinking at adult only beach has a 3 hour time limit. So I paid 100 per hour of the worst tasting drinks, an overcooked lunch plate. I this to be a rip off but it's so much worse. read more

On recent cruises, we were pleased to see washy, washy stations and sanitizing before entering the dining room areas. it was highly encouraged, and there were people standing there, ensuring that you would wash your hands . The ship overall was a little bit grimy. It needed a serious sanitizing! The food in the buffet area was well below average. I thought that I was in a prison camp eating terrible food. But what made it worse was how the music kept getting louder and louder as the morning would go on. We did not even venture into that area in the evening we stuck with the Fin' s restaurant at night and the food was not too bad. We enjoyed it and we liked our server and we went and saw the same server every night by request. we also bought a bottle of wine with every dinner. We did not get the drink package because our trip was only for three days and we did not think $250+ per person for three days worth it. In regards to the clientele on the ship, there were some individuals that were definitely a bit on the raunchy side. We ignored it, but there were some rude people who would scream in the hallways at night, running around acting fool. We were happy to get off the ship in Nassau. I booked a cruise to depart April 23rd, took out cruise insurance. Had to cancel because someone from our group was in ICU. No problem insurance paid us back within a week. Still call cruise line to reimburse drink package. Internet and port fees. Have called 5 times and haven't gotten anywhere. Asked for supervisor to call 3 weeks ago and still haven't heard from anyone. Put in a complaint with Better Business bureau and cruise line hasn't gotten back with them. I will never use this cruise line again and will bad mouth it to everyone. They have taken just under 2 grand. read more

I did my research and knew what was coming, and even with that, i still don't even know where to start. From the moment you arrive, it's a money grab. $57 just to park, and once you step on board, the upselling is nonstop. Little scam "deals" everywhere you go or look. Between the Nassau street sellers and the crew, you just can't catch a break. The ship itself is old and smells old. Water stains on the ceiling, dripping vents, rust everywhere, and furniture that looks like it came from a yard sale. I'm talking stained pillows, flipped wall art, and weird noises in the room all night. The food is rough. Somehow, the jello had a crust. Pork chops looked gray and unappetizing. You'll spend more time looking for clean utensils and ice than enjoying a meal. And don't expect anything included, soda isn't free (since you have to buy a drink package), and the included "juice" tastes like tap water with color, IF there is juice. Pools? Only 2 and very tiny. Jacuzzis? Overcrowded. Showers? Too small for comfort. And the bathroom has no ventilation, so it stays humid and musty. There's only one outlet in the entire room. Lighting setup is so bad it took minutes to figure out how to turn it on. And the biggest issue: everything feels like it's held together with duct tape. Safety and cleanliness seem like an afterthought. It's clear this ship was patched up on a budget and sent back out to sea. Pros: The international crew is kind and helpful. The shows were genuinely entertaining. The gym was somewhat decent but still slippery and well maintained. And one dessert, a weird strawberry soapy flavored cake, it was oddly good. Final thoughts: Many will say "you get what you pay for", but even for a budget trip, this ship falls short. The gratuity and fuel surcharge fees are MANDATORY so you're basically paying the wages and fuel expenses and they pockey the rest because they are definitely not using it to upkeep the ship. Unless you're planning to drink all day (which costs an arm and a leg) or bring a great group of friends, the fun is VERY limited. I took my parents on a quick 2-night cruise to the Bahamas and, for what it's worth, I thought we had a great time. I immediately knew I didn't want the standard package, so I upgraded all of us to the License to Chill package. The morning of the cruise, we drove to the port, and parking was smooth and secure. The port offers both valet and self-parking right next to the cruise terminal. We chose valet parking and were able to quickly enter the terminal after dropping off the car. With the License to Chill package, we enjoyed express check-in and debarkation, priority luggage delivery, and access to the VIP Lounge at the port. This meant we skipped the regular lines and started our vacation in a relaxed, stress-free way! The lounge itself was nothing special--just some seats, snacks, and coffee/tea--but at least we didn't have to search for a seat at the terminal while waiting to board. Since we were only there for two nights, I thought it was worth it to add the License to Chill package for the extras and convenience. Here are the highlights of the package: First, I liked the drink package, which included 10 cocktails, wine, beer, or hard seltzers per person--more than enough for a short cruise. We care a lot about food, so I appreciated that the package included dinner at the JWB Prime Steakhouse and a brunch with mimosas. There were also other dining options included for everyone, such as a buffet, Fins dining room, and a burger bar. There's a coffee shop and pizzeria if you want to purchase your own food and drinks as well. The package also included Wi-Fi for each person (one device per person). The Wi-Fi wasn't the best, but it was good enough to stay connected with the rest of the world and upload photos and videos to Yelp, Instagram, etc. We didn't do the wine tasting or use the spa credit, but those were part of the package too. JWB Prime Steakhouse was the highlight of the trip. The menu had all the dishes I like. We tried the steak tartare, shrimp cocktail, and French onion soup. The steak and lamb chops were cooked to perfection, and I tried the key lime pie for dessert. We didn't order any wine or drinks during dinner, but you can use your drink package in the restaurants. Other than that, the Fins Dining room was nothing special, the buffet had some options that were good such as the pasta, so I am glad I upgraded to have more dining options included. We had reserved seating for the shows, and the shows were actually pretty entertaining! It was a good way to end the night. On the day in the Bahamas, we decided to visit a nearby resort. I recommend looking into Resort Pass--I booked a day pass for less than what Margaritaville was offering. If you want to kayak, zipline, jet ski, or swim with pigs and dolphins, there are a variety of experiences to try! There's just so much to highlight, even for a short cruise. The rooms were cozy--not the most comfortable, but good enough to get some rest. Some of the decor look dated, but they recently upgraded the ship so I have yet to go back since then. The main thing is to have realistic expectations. You're not going on a Royal Caribbean or Disney cruise, and you're not paying that amount either. So I don't see why others are unhappy with their experience. If you want something super fancy and luxurious, then you have to pay the premium price. That being said, if you want to maximize your Margaritaville at Sea experience, the License to Chill package is a great value! read more

Wow wow wow. Just called and spoke to ROWBIE who hung up on me after I asked to speak to a supervisor regarding the horrific reviews and ultra cheap prices after I paid quadruple what they're offering now. My cruise is in 2 weeks. I paid $937.08 (included swimming with the pigs ) and an ocean view. When I asked for an upgrade after the terrible reviews of the staff doing inexplicable and horrifying criminal acts to female guests, ROWBIE replied those BOGO were for TAMPA even though the results were out of the WPB ship/destinations. He said he couldn't upgrade me. Only a supervisor could. So I asked for a supervisor. He then said SURE AND HUNG UP. IM now calling back and again in line on hold for another 22 minutes. I'll update post after hopefully speaking to a supervisor that does the right thing. read more

A pair of $19 shorts came up missing from my room. I noticed while I was packing for debarkation the next morning. Simple enough, go to Guest Services let them know. Little did I know, this was going to introduce me to the scary side of the ship. In less than an hour, while I was named with just a robe on, I had my personal items, luggage and room turned upside down. I felt so violated since I was on a solo cruise being treated like a criminal. When I complained, I was ignored, blamed and dismissed like I didnt matter. Today when I followed up on my complaint, I was called annoying, while checking up on three unresponded to emails by a rep named Michelle on the phone. Save yourself the headache. Just dont do it! Spent my cruise in line at customer service- told to spend my credit and it would be resolved by end of. Nope! I had to re/pay ..was given an 800 number, spent 1 hour on hold then hung up on, then called back 1.5 hrs later..told i need to call back tomorrow!! Rip off! The ship is older and looks it-Fairfield Inn with Motel6 vibes, is the best I can do. Staff however is top notch. Attentive, friendly and kind. It's not their fault items don't get replaced when needed. Maybe if they charged more for the cruise they could replace items that are in need? Food is best described as cafeteria quality, the shows are ok. If you view it as a ferry ride to the Bahamas it's a lot better than a cruise. I had hoped for more Margaritaville vibes than the decor. Music, people, but this is being marketed to the budget travelers more so than parrot heads. read more

This was my 15th cruise, first one on MAS. I am a big Margaritaville fan. I booked a year ago for Halloween. We did have fun, but it's what you make of it. The shows were great, but I wish they'd had a comedy club. My first impression of the ship, was that I thought the decor was adorable and right in line with margaritaville. I thought it was cute. The rooms are cute too. Food: I was slightly disappointed in the food, as I was holding a standard compared to other cruises and also was hoping for some of my margaritaville favorites, like the volcano nachos. I would've even paid for those to be honest. The buffet was pretty mediocre at best. They won't let you self serve your own ice cream either. The cheeseburger in paradise food area was very cute, but food was ok. The Fins dining room was decent and they do let you order several items like other cruises do. We did end up getting pizza, which is free on every other ship. I feel like it should be free. But it was good. Excursion: I booked my swimming with the pigs & beach day excursion well in advance to get the 10% discount. I thought it was worth it. We left the boat at about 9am and came back at 2:30pm. I wish we had brought snorkel gear because there is a reef right off shore and we saw several sea turtles popping up. Lessons for next time. The pig activity was different. They have you line up in the water and give you apples and the pigs swim out to you. You do get to hold the babies. They were so cute. They do poop, they are animals. Get over it. The restaurant and bar at the beach was great. Cracked conch was delicious. There should be more chairs. They are free. We took up a picnic table with an umbrella for the shade. Rooms: we had an ocean view room and it was really cute. They have the St. Somewhere soaps in the showers like at Margaritaville resorts. Decor is adorable. There is only one main outlet, but we brought a power strip. There was a USB outlet by the bedside too. Not sure if that's in every room. Our room steward was amazing and left us kissing Swan towel animals with rose petals. Faster Chill Package: I ended up booking this a few days before because of everything I read. We did get a special waiting area and priority boarding. Our luggage arrived by 4pm. We had special front row seating at the shows. There was a VIP disembarkation line after the cruise as well. Booked ahead and got 10% off. Drink packages: of all the things, this is probably the most worth it for this cruise. Other cruises, the drink packages aren't worth it. Here you get a preloaded bracelet and you can share. Also, booking ahead you get 10% off. To give an example, 2 drinks at the bar without a band was $35. That's $17.50 per drink. We got the premium drink package, which was about $11.50 per drink. You do the math. I am not sure we'd go again because our expenses were more than most other longer cruises we've been on and less free food options. I also didn't appreciate the surcharges being added to onboard accounts ($56 per person), where other cruises add it to the fare before so it's already paid. So 1st attempt at the cruise life. 1. The food- HORRIBLE- 1 star. They need to hire a new company for the food. I did not like anything. Limited selection. Even the sit down dinner at FINS is subpar. 2. Drinks- alcohol drink package I purchased was $119 for 10 drinks and my friend and I split it. 3. Shows. I attended 1 comedy show. It was okay. I laughed. 4. Room- clean. But we had to ask several times to give us two beds and that was frustrating. Shower small but the water was hot. 5. The club was a good time. Good music. You get EXACTLY what you pay for. Its a cheaper priced cruise so expecting more than that you will be disappointed. The crew was friendly, everyone greeted us by name , checked in with us multiple times thought out the trip. Even pulled us to front row seating at the shows. Our crew director was fun and lively she made it exciting, She gave out ALOT of free margaritas too. The game show was fun, the guest were a great time, the night club was fun and not to crazy, good music. I did not bring my children but the kids club looked fun the kids were always grouped up even outside of the kids clubs, there was plenty of activities for the little ones and alot of laughing. The buffet food was ok (taco station was amazing) On the not to bright side there were only 2 pools on deck that had a capacity of 18 people forr a cruise with over 300 guest. The theater was small with 1 show a night if you dont get a seat you miss it. It was hot on the ship the ac was not kicking. (We are in florida in the hottest month of the year) The back of the boat is loud because its closer to the engine, it will shake you till you wake up. i will start with you make the cruise the cruise does not make you.... from the moment i got on the ship i could tell there where things i did not like... you do not feel the air conditioning at all. then i went to the smoking section and there is absolutely no ventilation at all. i got the lower grade wi-fi if i knew i had to stand next to the concierges desk the entire time to have a connection i would have. my phone kept going to sos mode or no service i have a 92 year old father in law i am his point of contact and if something was wrong then what. now lets hit the food. well i rather pay for a better meal then what they served. the only thing that was half way decent was the sandwich spot the pizza looked days old the free standing machines had no soda at all so if u wanted a soda u had to stand on a line at the bar. lemonade was half way decent but you only got that at lunch time.... the buffet food was never looked fresh, so i would go to fins or the steak house. the sail away party would of been better if we were not in the rain, the two women that did some entertainment were not pleasant at all, mohamed the director i believe from entertainment crew was amazing i had a lot of laughs with him.. but this will never be a ship i will sail on again.... but like i said you make the cruise the cruise does not make you. read more

The ship has been renovated and have updated all. I like the activities. The excursions, I like that it's smaller and their no over crowding. Not alot of kids. The music was way better than MSC NCL, Carnival or Celebrity. It had Jimmy Buffet mixed with Calypso, Raggae and Rock some classic singers and Standards, No Taylor Swift No Karie Perry? No MILEY, No Gomez, etc. Hardly any 20 year old cuz it's not trenty,I never liked 20 y/o's even while 20. The service was great. It had a great vibe. More chill everyone polite. Not a gang ghetto vibe. My only gripe I'd the buffet, a small and weird selection. It should be more Golden Corral than Indochina China and Indonesian dishes. Where do I start... this is the nastiest cruise ship I have ever been on. It is beyond old. It was actually filthy. Nothing was dusted not even the top of the kleenex box. This is a great cruise for someone that isn't able to get around like myself.. For the money you pay ,it is well worth your time.. it's the smallest ship in the industry but the crew are awesome.. Not alot to do on this ship as far as water slides and stuff like that,, I just wanna cruise anyway,, not into all the excursions. They got bars and the boat stayed on top of the water.. that's all you can ask for in my opinion.. Food is as you would expect on any other cruise, Buffet items that are ok but not great.. But they get the job done..For the money we paid it is a great cruise.. You make it what you want it to be.. The boarding was the easiest of any cruise i have been on..disembarking was equally as quick.. Two complaints i do have is we were forced to both buy an alcoholic drink package just so i could drink,, ehe. Ordering my first drink i found out they do not have Jim beam.. that's all i drink,, after trying many drinks i finally landed on the vodka and orange juice.. I had 100% the WORST trip I've ever had with your cruise line. Not only was the service incredibly terrible & despicable... I was placed in a dirty room with mold in the toilet, a used soap bar in my shower & also dirty black finger prints in the bathroom on the ceiling.. As a paying customer & a WOMAN this is highly unacceptable. I work in the medical field and when something is unsanitary it can lead to so many other things/ problems. Not only was my room clearly not cleaned before my arrival, when I brought it to the attention of the staff they asked me why didn't I check my room on arrival... again I am a paying customer... Your crew staff knew a new group of guests were boarding the boat on this day.. I should NOT have to check my room when, if I purchased to stay in a room it should 100% be already cleaned and ready for the next guests. When brought to the attention of staff they offer me to NOW clean the room I was in, when again this should have already been done before my arrival. The stateroom attendant called for a manager or supervisor (I'm not sure who it was). Once they have arrived to see the issues with my room all he did was take pictures of the incident & said he will be right back. After waiting in the hallway for OVER 30+ minutes & missing my 7:30PM dinner reservations I proceeded to tell the stateroom attendant this is ridiculous... What was I waiting for over 30+ minutes in a hallway for this problem to be resolved?.. Proceeding telling him this is unacceptable the "manager" or "supervisor" told me to pack my things and go to guest services. After another 30+ minutes we still haven't gotten to a solution. This was an incredibly horrible time & to be quite honest this was a waste of my time & money. I will be posting pictures on your website, google, yelp & wherever else I can to ensure nobody rides your cruise line to get the experience I received. THEN to top it off your staff HARASSED me at my room door to do the surgery & put "10" for recommendations to come on your cruise line. Never in my life have I received such terrible care. Freeport Bahamas was absolutely breathtaking. The beach was beautiful clear blue waters, snorkeling and seeing the coral and all the pretty fish, catering service, unlimited drinks and food with the excursions. Friendly people and an all around great experience with the beach!! The cruise line on the other hand, I do not recommend unless you and your entire group would like to be double charged all your prepaid fees. My uncle of Allen Transportation pre paid everything to take 24 people in our family on this trip and they still charged all of our rooms. Oh and from the very beginning we were told my 80 year old grandmother who just traveled an 18 hour trip, could not come because her license was expired this year. One guy told us that if we got a photo copy of the new ID and the old copy with her birth certificate it would be fine, we spent two hours to get a photo copy just to then be told it wouldn't work and had to get her an Uber to send her two hours to my sisters house.. (I understand the issue at hand, but they could have found out that the photo copy wouldn't work before wasting 2 hours of our time and us boarding at last minute) Then we get on board and our drink packages that we paid for in advance were not working. They only had 9 rooms for us when we paid for 10. And it took them over 5 hours to correct that mistake. then the next day while we were stuck out at sea, they charged each room for our drink packages AGAIN after it already being paid for and if we didn't have the money in our accounts our drink packages were deactivated and we were not allowed to use them except this time we weren't able to get ahold of our banks because we had no service and the WiFi some of us paid $30 a day for wouldn't work so we couldn't figure anything out and they did not care about it really at all. We were told if our balances weren't under $500 we could not get out at the bahamas. My sister then came out of her pocket to help out and get everything working again. My uncles did not get fixed because they locked up his account. Then this morning when everything was supposed to be cleared we were getting off the ship and was told we could not get off and had to go to the service desk because Johnathan still had $370 charged to his room, we went to the service desk which my uncle was already standing at for a while before me and he was trying to get print out of all ten rooms of the charges, they were trying to only give him 3. One of which he was trying to get was my room. So I went up there with him and demanded for them to give me a print out of all my charges. I realized that they were charging me double and also adding other peoples charges to my account. After that we were still completely ignored while they helped other people and then they proceeded to ask us to go sit down. No we would not go sit down. We're handling this. So I then asked the lady to print the other rooms charges. Keep in mind she printed mine quickly.. it was taking her several minutes to even print the first rooms charges so i asked her why it was taking so long. She said "oh I just have to move some charges around..." What??! Okay so after that, my uncle was trying to repay AGAIN for our room charges so we could go home and the lady ended up swiping his card on the wrong card reader paying for the lady beside hims room charges!!!! Which they could not take back. We finally got off the ship but nothing got figured out. Nothing was changed or even tried to be fixed! They are crooked and money hungry and absolutely an absolute embarrassment to cruise lines. The beach was worth it, but i will not be back with Margaritaville at Sea!! I've heard very good things of other cruise lines but this experience makes me very Leary of even trying them. read more
