Loved it. Interesting atmosphere and friendly servers. I loved the lambics offered and the fries are A+++.

The food was fantastic and had lots of local flair. We really enjoyed the starters which included an eclectic collection of various salads, cheeses and bread. They had lots of flatbread options on the menu and the salads were fresh. The wines were very reasonably priced. I very much enjoyed the Chardonnay on the menu. I would come back to Belgischer Hof the next time I am in Cologne.

It was in the front room of the restaurant and our server provided the best service we had during our trip traveling across Germany. He was kind and his timing was perfect. The food was amazing! I ordered the duck and the sides were perfectly it was paired with it for optimal flavor. My friend ordered the rabbit and though it was weird it was very good. Afterwords we had creme brûlée which was again... perfect! It was so light but filling. Sharing dessert after dinner is a must and you'll leave fat and happy then have the best sleep of your life. The atmosphere is adorable. Food is perfect. And service is the best! What more could you ask for?

Whilst on holiday in Köln we ended up here 3 times for frühstück (breakfast). Bit of an odd place…read morebut wholely enjoyable. The business is divided into two halves. The large every nice cafe where you order your coffees, teas and some patesserie and the deli next door where you order your food. They bring the food to you at the table but you pay the two bills separately. I've not experience this before and felt like a very European way to run the business. I can understand some people not liking this though as in the depths of Winter the prospect of having to go back onto the street and next door to order seems annoying. The locals obviously look at the menu and order before coming into the cafe. The cafe itself is very nice, bare bricks walls with eclectic collected furniture, ranging from couches to what look like old school chairs. High ceilings, lots of mirrors and art for sale hung on the walls makes it a pleasant spot to while away a few hours. The coffee is good although there is no middle ground, the lattes and cappucino's are very milky and the macchiato's or black coffees very bitter. I like a middle ground coffee like a Flat White which is has milk but still retains the depth of a shorter espresso, this cafe doesn't achieve this but it is something I noted through our trip so it's obviously a German preference. I had the Strammer Max one day and liked it so much had the Strammer Käse Max the second time. A very simple but tasty breakfast of bread, cold ham, dill gherkins, and fried eggs with a dill yoghurt on the side, the Käse (cheese) is the only addition to the Strammer Käse Max

We were able to find parking right in front of the door. The crowd is generally also young and hip... my god I feel old saying these terms. But that's about the end of the positive experience we had here on Sunday morning for breakfast. The breakfast was way overpriced for what it actually included. The service was a bit forgetful (but friendly). And the tea was a disappointment. I assume their ice cream selection is better than their breakfast... So for breakfast if advice you against this place. Check out my other recommendations instead (like Römerpark). Would I go back? Only to be hip.

We dropped in on a Tuesday evening (around 9:15pm) and it was busy. There was a private event upstairs so the inside was packed. Luckily, we were able to snag a table outside beside the heaters. Nice touch with the blankets for you to use if you get cold. Only downside is lots of chain smokers but that's at most bars. There were a couple menus but we only were here for beers (€2,50 to €5,80 range). - Tannenzäpfle (€2,50 for 0,33L) - 2x Eifeler landbier (€2,50 for 0,30L) - 2x Bolten alt (€2,50 for 0,30L) Chill, laid back spot to grab a few beers with friends.

Located (as the name suggests) right near the Dom, Domkeller offers good beer (German, Belgian as well as others) in a cozy atmosphere. For me, Domkeller embodies what a bar should be--a relaxed place where you can share a drink with friends and listen to good music (at just the right level) or have a good conversation. The music played here is fantastic and is an amazing mix that just about everyone will enjoy. They also regularly have concerts--I'm sure this place gets packed for those! Although a bit pricey (our bill came to around 12 with 2 beers and a snack) I think it's a nice enough place to enjoy a drink (skip the snack).

When I was traveling to Rome last year, I discovered that the beer brand has bars in a bunch of countries (mostly Europe). To my surprise, I stumbled upon this location in Cologne. There was no way I was going to leave Germany without a visit. Service (5/5): I stopped by around 10:30 p.m. on a Monday night. The bartender was awesome. He's American, so we chatted about his immigration to Germany. He offered samples, let me go behind the bar to take a closer look at the bottled beers, and didn't rush us when closing time arrived. Service the way it should be. Ambiance (4.5/5): Delirium Cafe is a chill bar. Pretty much what you would want a beer bar to look like. Delirium signage in a bunch of places, and a good amount of seating. This location is much smaller than the one I visited in Rome, but it's cozy. Food (N/A): The Rome location has a full menu. No food here. But you can bring food from outside. There's a pizza spot on the same street, so I grabbed some takeout from there and had a glorious pizza + beer combo. Drinks (5/5): I mean it's my favorite beer after all. In addition to Delirium Tremens, they have three other Delirium varieties on tap, including Delirium Red, which is delicious. There are two other brands made by Delirium which I tried too. This was a nice surprise. A perfect end to an evening in Cologne.
