The worst dental practice I have ever encountered. I would give a 0/5 if I could…read more My son saw Dr. Haleh Azar for orthodontic care. My husband and I both had dental insurance through our employers, and I paid the full amount upfront. Dr. Azar was supposed to reimburse us for any extra payments she received from our insurance companies, but she never did. She refused to provide a statement of our account balance, so I had to contact both insurance companies myself to find out how much she had been paid. That's when I discovered that Dr. Azar's office had kept $1,177 that should have been returned to us. Even after I went to her office numerous times, presented proof, and requested a refund, she refused. I eventually reported the situation to the Massachusetts Dental Society and the Boston District Dental Society. Only after Dr. Azar received a letter from one of these organizations did the office finally return the money. Beyond this serious issue with handling our funds, I have not even gone into detail about the poor quality of service. The fees she charged were already much higher than the standard rates in our area.

He is a wonderful man, really makes you feel at ease, and is very gentle on your teeth - clearly he's skilled with his hands. I've been going to Brookline Dental for 6 years, but they've changed for the worse in the last two…read moreyears. 1. The dentists are all in a rush and don't listen to patient concerns. I'd been complaining about a pain in my tooth the last 4 visits which they ignored and blamed on my brushing, but when I pressed the issue they discovered I had a broken filling. The dentist who finally looked at it said my concerns were never put in my chart. 2. It feels like you're constantly trying to be upsold unnecessary things like teeth whitening and other cosmetic stuff. In my last two appointments all of a sudden they wanted to recommend additional cleanings, and even though I denied they've started sending me texts every three months to schedule a cleaning. 3. In my last appointment they quoted me for a huge bill, and when I investigated further it was because they said they were going to make me a retainer which was never discussed and I never asked for. 4. To top it off they've made the unfortunate decision to incorporate an AI assistant. I think some of the dentists there do a fine job but overall it's changed completely since I started going there and will unfortunately not be going back.

Extremely disappointed with how my visit ended. The hygienist was great and the dentist was fine,…read morebut the entire experience was ruined afterward. I specifically booked here because they supposedly take my insurance, only to be told after my appointment that the dentist I saw was out of network. Apparently, unless you explicitly tell them you want an in-network dentist, they'll randomly assign you to one who is out of network. That is absolutely ridiculous. Who in their right mind would choose to pay more if they didn't have to? It was illogical, misleading, and honestly felt like a trap in their system. The front desk tried to claim they "called me to double check" because I booked online, but I never received a call. Either they didn't call, or they're not verifying numbers correctly so they definitely are not organized. I walked in expecting a normal dental visit covered by my insurance. I walked out with an unexpected bill. Update: They said they would call me back to let me know the updated bill with the insurance, but never did. It is a shame because their office workers all seem nice, and their presence really shapes the initial and final dentist experience.

Sahara Dental honestly did not have to admit me for examination this week when I asked if Dr…read moreChammas could please check a toothache (which had become sore enough for me to stop eating for a day: I'd decided to wait a few months before having further dental work done, in order for dental insurance benefits to replenish in 2026): I was a little under the weather in a number of ways early this week. The whole office worked together to make my visit possible- and pleasant: they brightened my day, which ended up being more productive than I had even hoped- buoyed up by my morning dental appointment there! Dr Chammas was as informative and thorough as always- and so positive and supportive (I cannot say enough about her: if I could give her a ten-star rating, I would- including for her honesty and integrity about, for example, specifying risks as well as benefits of choosing one course of action/treatment over another. She has always been informed about new products on the market that I've asked about, and never once has seemed to be more concerned about dollars than my welfare and comfort with my dental decisions): Dr Chammas even let me know this week that my manual tooth brushing recently (instead of the usual electric toothbrushing...to protect a partially completed implant) proved more effective at removing plaque on all my teeth than electric toothbrushes had been for years: I can maneuver a manual toothbrush around my small mouth more easily than a bulkier electric toothbrush...so you might give manual toothbrushing a try, too, if you haven't for a while and reports at your teeth cleanings have been disappointing). ...And then it may not be worth mentioning, but I've sometimes thought that it seems almost unfair to "The Rest of Us" that Dr Chammas is frankly BEAUTIFUL, too(! Could not such gifts have been distributed a bit more equitably around the population?): In my mind, she could pass for a movie star or runway model any day (certainly tall enough!)...except, perhaps, for the facts that she is always SO informative: SO smart- and caring, and such a good listener; maybe a bit too reserved and kind to be a hot-shot celebrity type? In any event, Metro Boston hit the jackpot when Hollywood and the Grand Palais lost out on this one: we are most fortunate to have Dr Chammas as a *dentist* here, and I just hope lots of other dentally concerned folks like me will stop in to discover what a gem we have! My recent experience was also that X-rays at Sahara Dental were quick and comfortable (no gagging, or request needed to find a stabe to fit the laser-aiming mechanism into my tiny mouth)- so I thank them for updating the equipment/tech (and training), as needed, for us patients as well as the dental assistants. And- Alex at the front desk has been tremendously helpful this whole week, too: Because of his attention to detail, I double-checked to confirm that my dental insurance covers three teeth cleanings per year instead of two. Alex also kindly expedited some files' electronic transmission so I can better determine what to do next about my latest problem tooth- regarding which Dr Naji also stepped in to clarify the current situation for my further consideration. Thank You ALL again- to the whole Sahara Dental office! Sincerely.
