Came in during the gumbo crawl. Decided to sit at bar and have some drinks. Didn't order food. Ordered a cucumber margarita, spicy jalapeno margarita, grand margarita, and a grapefruit Paloma. All were good. They don't use the cheap margarita mix. This is fresh stuff - watched them muddle cucumber, jalapeno, and grapefruits for drinks. Very nice. Lots of creative options to pick from. When we asked to move, management flat-out refused. It only went downhill from there: Drink Service: Our server brought the wrong drink order three separate times. We eventually gave up and drank whatever landed on the table. Food Quality: Every dish was Swimming in oil. It was so overly greasy that several people in our party felt sick shortly after leaving. We had heard about Mariachis and they have been on our to try list for a while. Lots of good reviews. Unfortunately last night was a huge disappointment. We went with another couple who have been there before and really recommended it. My husband and the other guy ordered chimichangas, one beef and one chicken. My husband's had lots of chicken in it but he said it was very dry and tasted like cardboard. The gentleman with the beef one said his was only fair. My girlfriend had salmon with rice and one stem of broccoli. Small portion for the price. She liked hers. I had a big bowl of the appetizer mussels that were tasty and plentiful but the mussels were tiny. Broth they were in was good. Two of us had peach sangrias. Good, but small in a champagne style flute. My husband's margarita was mostly ice. Giving one star as server was very good and staff greeting us was very welcoming. The upstairs has a festive, barbie, chill vibe with smble seating. It can be hot in the summer as it's a covered outdoor space with fans. The downstairs is smaller with a more upscale, clean fresh look. I got the who fried snapper (smaller than average) with the Yucca fries and salad. Popped in for an afternoon snack. Had two frozen margaritas each which hit the spot on a sweltering hot day: the sangria rita and the fruity rita (strawberry). Had two orders of the chips and salsa (the salsa was really flavorful and fresh), a Margarita Salad which came with some sort of surprisingly good honey mustard dressing, the churros, which my GF housed, and the white fish ceviche. We both agreed we'd come back just for the ceviche. Service was quick, attentive, and friendly. We arrived at about 5.15pm on a Wednesday and it wasn't terribly busy but crowds of people started pouring in about 20 minutes after we arrived. Got a little loud but that's not unexpected with the amount of people that came in. Haven't been to any other Mexican places in Rehoboth Beach but this place was pretty damn good. This is one of our regular stops when we are in Rehobeth for our annual vacation. We love the chips and salsa and always add on an order of guacamole. My favorite is a picture of sangria, which is typically a white sangria. The service is quick and attentive. The noise level is low. We enjoy sitting on the upper patio for a nice view and some fresh air when possible. The seafood enchiladas are always a hit with fresh shrimp and scallops and a light cream sauce. My dad ordered the salmon with rice and said it was one of his favorite meals of the week. I got a mariachi salad which was fresh and full flavor. It's a Latin restaurant that covers the full spectrum of Latin cuisine from Spain, Mexico, Cuba, Peru, and across Latin and South America. Complimentary chips and salsa started us off, and then it was time to make a tough decision about our entrees. We decided on Seafood Enchiladas ($27) - "Two flour tortillas stuffed with shrimp and scallops topped with avocado and seafood sauce", and Mariscos Saltados ($27) - "Shrimp, scallops, mussels and squid sautéed with cilantro, jalapeño, tomatoes and onions in a Peruvian sauce, served with rice and black beans". My Mariscos was one of the best dinners I've had this year. It was a seafood stir fry loaded with seafood, and that sauce was great. I would have been happy just with that sauce in a big bowl of rice. Gotta give a shout out to our server, Jaime. It looked like he was the only one taking orders, so he was hustling around the dining room all night long. But he was always cheerful, helpful, and very professional. There is ample seating and its good for large parties. The service was average. The food was flavorful. The fajitas were super delicious. Especially the steak fajita. I also enjoyed the chicken soup as it had big chunks of chicken and veggies. The down sides were the bathrooms that had a broken lock and the floor is very slippery to the point that we almost fell multiple times. The sign isn't enough. Something should be done to mitigate the fall hazard. read more

Wow. We were down this week and made reservation like always. And we have religiously eaten here because it is right near the Avenue inn where we stay each year. However I feel like the food quality and service has gone down. First stop shoving a million people in the restaurant. We were placed in the corner by the stair entrance by the kitchen doors. I asked to move the waitress said sorry. But we can't. Then we ordered and that felt super rushed. Food came out in a flash like every year. The food was subpar this year. The steak was super chewy and the enchiladas were barely filled with chicken. My son's cheese quesadillas looked awful I made them take it back. But my god the minute we finished it was wham bam thank you. Here is your check move along. Very off putting when you literally spend over 130.00 for dinner for 4 people. We love Mariachis. They take reservations and parking and a lovely rooftop patio. The place is happily decorated. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is great. We love the shrimp fajitas with huge butterflied shrimp, salmon Pacifico with a large portion of salmon filet in a lemon caper sauce, the tongue, and delicious guacamole. Finally a Mexican restaurant that serves hard shell tacos! I've died and gone taco heaven. What a great authentic Mexican joint in the heart of Rehoboth. They have a small private parking lot for convenience. Now for the amazing Tacos. I tried the beef and chicken. The beef was loaded with shredded chunks. Not the ground beef kind. These were meaty and delicious! Same with chicken nice long pieces and seasoned perfectly. The sides were great too! Beans, rice, lettuce pico and sour cream. They also give you a side of salsa and chips! Which were also amazing! I'm so happy I found this place. I highly recommend if you're a crunchy taco person like me. You won't be disappointed. Don't pay with American Express Gold Card at this establishment. Had a $173 dinner and only received 1x points because they identify themselves as "Other - Miscellaneous" in their MCC code. I normally wouldn't care but this establishment is definitely a restaurant. If you don't want to serve Amex customers why not have some integrity and just drop them or ask your customers to pay a fee? Food was excellent and our waiter was attentive. Then when she went to seat us, table wasn't ready so she told us to wait downstairs again. A big of organizing and attentiveness would help. Not trying to be picky, but I would say another table would have left if not sat first when sitting in host area for 7-20 minutes for a table and then the second one coming in and waiting a minute, gets seated before you. This was such a terrific place we accidentally ended up having a team dinner at! We walked in off the streets at 6:00 on a Saturday night. It was with low expectations we expected any restaurant to accommodate our large party without notice, but we were so lucky! We walked in and they had two large party tables open on the second floor. It turned out to be an unexpectedly fantastic dinner experience. The servers were amazing, the food was delicious, and the margaritas were impressive. Roughly a block away from the boardwalk you will find a slice of Mexican heaven. You will walk into a welcoming restaurant that serves some of the best, most authentic, Mexican food I have had in a hot minute. Before entering, I scoped out the menu posted up outside to see if there would be anything I liked. Of course there was, I Just wanted to make it streamlined for when I sat down at the table for me to get my food. I went inside and was immediately greeted at the host stand and shown to a table upstairs. It appeared that they weren't using the downstairs just yet at that point in the day. It was fairly early, pre lunch maybe. I was seated and greeted by my server and placed a drink order. I pretended to look over the menu to make it look like I was taking my time, but I was done with that charade by the time my drink, along with chips and salsa, showed up at the table. Without missing a beat my server was ready to take my order. I went with the burrito platter, chicken variety. While my server put in my order, I dove into the chips and salsa. This salsa had the right amount of heat to it that it wasn't overpowering and the chips were fresh, lightly salted. Pleasantly surprised was an understatement. Then the star of the meal, the burrito, showed up. This well stuffed burrito came with rice, beans, pico, and sour cream. The burrito itself is covered with a sauce and cheese. I will say that this thing was messy to eat, but all that couldn't be scooped up in a bite was able to make a nice little Mexican salad at the end of the meal. The first chips and salsa serving is free The second order customer has to pay- understandable to a certain extent. 4 of us ordered a second serving as we waited for our food. While having drinks. We requested from her-since she was walking around and she informed us in the most rude way that we have to pay for the second round. There is a certain way of conveying an establishments policy. The way she did it was unprofessional and rude in a full restaurant. As if we are just there eating free chip---I imagine that was her thinking. Was going to celebrate my birthday there.
