Corte Madera Montessori is simply lovely. The school is set within the grounds of the old "Granada" school, which features sixties style geodesic dome architecture (aaack! my tongue feels fuzzy just typing that! like I've been licking macrame!). Don't let the questionable architecture throw you off, however. CMM's facility is set up such that it COULD have four full classes at all times. Instead of maximizing its space for profits, however, the school dedicates an entire classroom space for an Emilio Reggio inspired art room. I've compared many Montessori schools, especially after we moved to Denver, and I have to say that CMM stands out for the excellence of its staff and its warm ambiance. If you have any specific questions about the school, please feel free to private message me. I simply cannot say enough things that reflect how happy we were with this school!

I'm going to be honest and share that Educare wasn't our first choice. At the time, I thought I…read morewanted something more niche or up with the trends of other types of school styles and we chose Educare because we found them to be the most dual income family friendly with hours starting at 730am-5pm and year round so no need to plan for summer camps. Turns out, Educare was the best decision we could have made for our us and our kids, especially having compared notes with friends from other schools. We started there as early as 22 months- the youngest that they'll take them. Educare has provided so much growth for my kids- both socially and academically. They've grown to speak up for themselves, to work both independently and as a team, to behave appropriately at restaurants, make friends easily at playgrounds, focus on tasks, cope with quiet time, try new things/foods, and transition successfully through various situations and scenarios. The teachers and staff approach everything with such empathy and love- even potty training. My youngest had issues pooping in the potty and it was a long two month journey. Instead of making it my problem, the teachers approached it with patience and worked with my little one until she was fully able to let go of the fear and anxiety. One of my favorite things that Educare does, aside from providing breakfast/snacks/lunch, is celebrate all the various cultural holidays and occasions. They also provide two parent/teacher conferences twice a year- both of which the school stays open vs closed like others. The community of parents and friends we've met have been so special. Lastly, I couldn't have asked for my kiddo to be more prepared for kindergarten. We didn't have to spend time after dinner or before bedtime to help them catch up either emotionally or academically. As our kinder teacher shared during our first parent/teacher conference when discussing various school assessments, "the Educare kids usually all do really well."

The teachers and staff blend a high degree of learning with fun, they host so many great events to learn about different cultures, and it's a total bonus that the kids learn in both Spanish and English. As we're heading to kindergarten this fall, it's clear that the Educare kids are extremely well prepared to enter kindergarten with confidence. And if you're planning to be in the LCM public schools, it's awesome for the kids to have so many familiar Educare kids at their elementary school. I'm truly grateful that we found Educare and want to spread the word -- they didn't show up as prominently in my original search as some of the preschools with a more 'elite' reputation. But now that I've seen many friends go through many different pre-schools, I can say with confidence that Educare stands out for nurturing and preparing kids for kindergarten -- socially, emotionally and academically. Moving my son to Educare is one of the best parenting decisions I've made.

He went through their Nido (infant), Toddler, and now Children's house programs so we have experienced the full suite of care here and it has been a warm, encouraging place for his emotional growth and fostering his independence. Their program at its core, using Montessori principles, empowers kids with structure that allows them to follow their interests. He comes home and surprises us regularly with things he's learned at guidepost, from manners (pushing in chairs, putting things away, wanting to help out around the house), to songs, art, or stories of what he did during the day. The guides who run the classrooms are FANTASTIC, skilled, thoughtful, engaging staff who obviously truly care about the well being of the children. There are flex hours available that suit our family's needs and their program has a lot of components beyond the typical Montessori classroom - music, warm days there are water activities outside, soccer, dance... they also do creative activities for the holidays including art with the kids and some things that involve the parents and develop a sense of community. Can't say enough great things about the staff here - the leadership team is the best. I highly recommend! We will be bringing our newborn here once I go back to work.

I honestly cannot express how happy and grateful I am for this school. From the very beginning,…read moreAna, the director, was amazing. As a single mom working full-time, finding the right place for my son was such a big deal for me. I had been trying to get him enrolled, and Ana stayed in communication with me about when a spot would become available and guided me through all the steps I needed to take. It took a few weeks to about a month for a spot to open, but once he started, OMG -- I knew it was worth the wait! My son started here at only 18 months old in the Toddler House, and he is now almost 4. When he first started, my anxiety was THROUGH THE ROOF because this was the first time he had really been away from me. The teachers made that transition so much easier. I was able to see updates through the daily logs, including pictures of what he was doing, activities he participated in, and who he was socializing with. Being able to see that he was happy, learning, playing, and making friends gave me so much peace of mind. One of the things I love most is that this isn't just a place where your child is being watched during the day. They truly treat it like a school and follow a curriculum and routine. The children have morning activities, snacks, indoor and outdoor play, individual learning time with their teachers, group learning activities, and so much more. They provide snacks, so parents only need to pack lunch, and during the warmer weather they even have splash days, which are seriously the cutest thing ever! As a single mom who works full-time, their hours have also been a HUGE help. Drop-off can start as early as 7:15 AM and they are open until 6:00 PM. There have been many days when my son has been one of the last children there because of my work schedule, and I have never felt like he was just sitting around waiting for me. They continue to make him feel comfortable, cared for, and safe until I arrive. That means more to me than I can explain. The amount my son has learned since starting here is incredible. They helped us tremendously with potty training and even gave me guidance on what I could do at home so we could stay consistent. Potty training was honestly one of the things I was most nervous about as a parent, and having their support made such a difference. They also teach the children independence, communication, and how to express their feelings appropriately. My son will literally tell me, "I need space," when he is upset because he has learned how to use his words and communicate his emotions. He even helps me prepare his snacks at home for the next day because they practice snack preparation at school. Seeing how independent he has become since starting here makes me so proud. Over the years, some amazing teachers have moved on, but the school continues to bring in wonderful new teachers. I also really appreciate that they introduce new teachers to the families by sharing a little biography about them and explaining which classroom they will be joining. It helps parents feel more comfortable knowing who is caring for their children. I also have to mention Ms. Adrianna, who became another director during the time my son has been here. She has always been attentive, kind, sweet, and responsive whenever I have brought a concern or question to her about my son. I truly appreciate knowing that I can communicate with the directors and that my concerns as a parent will be taken seriously. Looking back at my son starting here at 18 months old and now being almost 4 honestly makes me emotional. This school has played such an important role in helping me raise a respectful, kind, honest, curious, hands-on, and independent little boy. As a working mom, there is always that worry about being away from your child for so many hours of the day, but I have been able to go to work knowing that my son is in great hands, learning, exploring, and building friendships. And on top of everything else, the facility is BEAUTIFUL! I truly don't know what I would have done without the support this school has given both me and my son over the years. If you're a parent wondering whether this school is worth it -- trust me, it is. I will forever be grateful for the love, patience, education, and care they have given my little guy.

Vania has a deep understanding of child development and continues to expand her expertise and it truly shows. The activities she creates for children of different ages are thoughtful, engaging, and developmentally rich. From watching caterpillars transform into butterflies to making personalized Mother's Day crafts (I still have the German handprint card on our fridge!), every experience is designed with care and intention. Her two longtime caregivers, Esly and Yomara, have been with her for many years, which speaks volumes, especially in an industry where turnover can be high. Their consistency and warmth gave our children such a strong sense of comfort and trust. Daily updates and photos were always a highlight, and communication, whether about an illness or the rare small boo-boo, was impeccable. Our kids thrived at Bright Start. They entered school confident, curious, and well-prepared, not just academically, but socially and emotionally. Many of our daughter's closest friends today are the ones she made at Vania's. And funnily enough, most of our closest friends in Marin are families we met through Bright Start, too. It's hard to overstate what a real, welcoming community Vania has built. Especially if you're new to the area, this place is something truly special: loving, grounded, and just the right amount of not-too-fussy.

They also go out in a buggy to the nearby park on nice days which is not something that we have seen with other school options in the neighborhood. Finally, the owner has an AS degree in early childhood education which adds to the value of this school as this is not common with home daycares.
