I strongly urge anyone considering ordering from Marine Parts Express to stay far away. My experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare. I placed an order for a brand-new Volvo Penta DP-SM DuoProp lower unit, a purchase totaling nearly $12,000. Their website advertises fast 1-2 day shipping, which was important to me since I needed the part quickly. After placing the order, I expected a tracking number within a day or two. Instead, nothing came. I made multiple phone calls and sent several emails asking for tracking information and an estimated delivery date. Each time, I was given excuses or vague responses. They never once provided a tracking number or proof that my order was even shipped. Days turned into weeks, and it became clear they were not delivering on what I paid for. When I asked for a refund, they refused. That left me with no part, no information, and nearly $12,000 tied up. I eventually had to file a dispute with my credit card company, which dragged on for months before I finally got my money back. Meanwhile, I was forced to source the lower unit from another dealer on my own just to get my boat back in service. Marine Parts Express failed me on every level: false advertising, zero communication, no accountability, and outright refusal to do the right thing. Ordered a Volvo Part through this company, for an expected 5 day delivery time. Repeated calls to track the order, returned that the part was still on its way from Sweden. On day 11 was told the part was No Longer Available, and the order had been cancelled 2 days before. But they forgot to text/email me. The court ordered the part to be picked up 10 days later after my refund. Finally tomorrow,15 days in, hes picking it up. I also got an email from him asking me to contact the shipper lol.?! Dude do your job . This guy is so lazy but fits his unorganized scamming style. This guys so unprofessional he fwds me an email with his conversation with the shipper. As you can see what it states, I'd stay away from this crook. If you spend your money here your playing Russian roulette. Usually an owner would apologize for bad customer service, it's what I've seen on most negative Yelp reviews but not this guy. read more

I ordered a $1400 part which I never received--no refund, zero communication. I was dealing directly with JD Neeson, the owner, who apologized profusely for a delay of 3 weeks In shipping but failed to call inform of a global backorder for one of the parts. This business took my money for a part that I later discovered is no longer available in the US. Not wanting to wait indefinitely, I requested they cancel the order and refund my money to Paypal. They initially said that they had done that, but nothing showed up in my Paypal account. They have not responded to subsequent emails. Avoid this business. read more

I first ordered a part which I knew was a tougher obsolete part to find for a Volvo Penta. A few minutes after ordering I called the business to find out if they would be able to supply. The owner stated that he can get the part and would confirm with me if he couldn't. I did not receive any follow up calls or an email saying they could or couldn't supply. By this time, two days later, I spoke with the owner JD Neeson. He said that he couldn't supply the new one ordered, however he could offer a used one for 3 times the $600 price. I declined and before I could ask for a refund, the owner hung up on me. I immediately emailed the company asking for a refund on March 19th. I have never received a follow up email as of April 10th. I have called multiple times a week and JD said he would work on it. I trusted that he would issue the refund. After a couple days of no refund, I called again and he said he was working on the refund while I was on the phone. Called back again and have yet to speak with the owner, get directed to his phone line, left voicemails with no response. He has yet to offer a refund. I took action through paypal for the refund. Luckily they were the middle man, as I was finally able to get a refund. I would NOT TRUST this company to supply any parts as he may never get them for you and hold your money. read more
