If you want cheesy deliciousness-find Cheese Louise…read more The menu is perfect for the food truck with a few solid options-all cheesy! I got the yellowhammer and let me tell you it had the most perfect cheese pull. $10 for the sandwich only, but you could upgrade and add chips and a drink as well-not sure the upgrade price it's not on the menu. If I see Cheese Louise again-I'm gonna try more sandwiches. Delicious and fairly priced.

Again, I continue along on my food truck tour of Tuscaloosa. Cheese Louise specializes in grilled…read morecheese sandwiches. It can be found outside of Nott Hall most weekdays and on the Strip for dinner and late night options. Again, check out their social media to see more precise details each week. They're not quite as diligent as Local Roots or Little Poblano, but I've found the information to be accurate. They're also available for c They offer pretty much exclusively grilled cheese sandwiches, chips, and drinks; you can also get a PB&J or cookie with icing on cinnamon toast. Their menu is posted online and they have a large array of really creative, tasty sounding sandwiches; be aware, though, that I think they only offer a few of each kind every day. For example, there are 9 different sandwiches posted online, but only 4-5 were listed on the side of the truck when I visited. I'm not sure if you can request for one not listed to be made on a particular day to be made special. I tried the Yellowhammer, which is made of pepper jack cheese, chicken, bacon, ranch, and chipotle sauce. No chips for me, as they only had bbq or vinegar flavors available. The bread was toasted really nicely and had a great crunch. It was an ooey-gooey mess, which was a double edged sword; it captured the joy of grilled cheese, but is admittedly hard to eat without making a huge mess on a bench outside class with no napkins in sight. Some of the cheese oozed out too much and glopped onto the container. It was a sad loss. I must admit, I was a little disappointed in the filling of this sandwich. I could really only discernibly see small chunks of bacon. I was hoping for large pieces of chicken, either grilled or shredded, but I honestly couldn't find any, though I could taste it. My best guess is that it was almost like a chicken, bacon, ranch dip inserted into the sandwich - there was a sort of grainy filling in there that wasn't cheese. I didn't like the texture, but my description makes it sound grosser than it was. Other than the texture, it tasted fine, although I never got any hint of ranch flavor. Still, I was expecting pieces of bacon and chicken, not so finely chopped I could barely discern it. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my sandwich enough to make me want to try and come back for a different one - perhaps the Mac n cheese grilled cheese (the "Macdaddy") or the pizza inspired one (the "Godfather") or maybe even the one with fried rice, which sounds weird and delicious at the same time (the "Chopstick") will suit my palate a bit more. Although I wasn't bowled over by this truck, I would recommend giving it a try! I will update my review if I find a sandwich I like more. Update: I found a sandwich I liked more. Try the "Macdaddy" - Mac and cheese, Colby jack cheese, chipotle sauce, and bacon. Super yummy! Although I'd still maybe like a bit more bacon. ;) Also! The girls running the truck are super nice and friendly. Try this truck!

Tried Corry's today for the 1st time! I was pretty excited. We never get food trucks where I am and…read moreI have been wanting to give them a try! So... here is my thoughts. Cheese Nachos: I love nachos... but the chips had no salty taste and the "nacho" cheese was just plain cheese sauce... which missed the classic Nachos flavor. My Oldest had Lemon Pepper dry wings dinner with double fries. He said the wing were over seasoned but I thought they were great. Small wings ( which I prefer) cooked perfectly crispy. The fries were your average crinkle fries... not seasoned at all. No salt. :( My youngest had chicken tenders and fries. The chicken tenders where cooked perfectly. Fresh and hot. They were seasoned but could use a bit more seasoning. Over all they were good, big, and not overly breaded! The cheese fries... no salt, flavorless cheese sauce... almost like the "nacho" cheese but seemed thinned out. My Hubby had the Hot dog dinner with baked beans and fried okra. The hot dog was big and juice ( deep fried dog). The beans were ok. The okra he said was the shining star. He said he would pull over just to get a order of okra from them. I had a BBQ sandwich. For the price I wanted it to be on a large bun. It was just your average bun. It wasn't great. Needed a better sauce.. or more sauce maybe. I was pretty put off that the meat was cold. Not room temp... but cold. This could have been avoided by something as small as a temp check. I'm in food service. I don't expect it to be cooked right then, bbq is usually been warmed up... but this stuff was just cold. Our total was under 50.00, which isn't terrible. All in all, it was ok. If you want wings or a dog, go for it. Their issues can be easily fixed with some salt, seasoning and a temp check! I'd give them another go.

I've been on a bit of a quest to try the different food trucks on campus. This is a newer one,…read morefrom the same people who own Local Roots. I enjoyed their other truck very much, but this one just...didn't do it for me. For what it's worth, I'm not a big Mexican food connoisseur. I just don't eat it that much. I find it often doesn't suit my palette - I know, there's something wrong with me. I'm trying to find dishes I like more, but my fierce aversion to cilantro makes that difficult. Anyway...I understand my assessment may not reflect the tastebuds of the majority. I would still encourage anyone interested to try the food from this truck. The menu is limited, much like Local Roots. Tacos, tamales, and quesadillas are available, as well as chips and salsa or queso, rice, beans, and street corn. The menu does change up often and specials are run daily. I recommend checking out their Instagram feed for updates, their location, and specials. The meals don't come with side items or chips; they cost extra. A lot extra. Personally, I feel it's pretty overpriced -- my quesadilla with chips and queso was $16 for a lunch that I didn't even get sit-down service with. Most Mexican joints would serve rice and beans with a quesadilla and give you free chips; add cheese dip for another 2-3 bucks and tip and you could STILL probably get out for less, or at least around the same. The prices are a problem for me. I had the chicken quesadilla. It's made with chicken tinga--shredded chicken in a tomato, chipotle chili, and onion sauce--shredded cheese, and of course poblano peppers. My quesadilla was over cooked on one side, and veeeeeery greasy. Grease leaked down over my hands and made a big mess, spattering on the other quesadilla slices and making them soggy. I also found the chicken to be a bit...gamey, as far as chicken goes. The tortilla was nice and crispy, though. It came with pico de gallo, which I admittedly didn't try, as the scent of cilantro was so overpowering I immediately replaced the lid and put it aside. It also came with a crema, which actually was pretty tasty. Still, the crema wasn't enough to make up for the chicken or greasiness of the dish. The chips and queso were...meh. Chips had plenty of salt but still tasted a bit bland and stale. Queso was just queso but it congealed frustratingly quickly. Not worth the 5 bucks I was charged for them, probably - except it gave me something to eat when I rejected the quesadilla. Again, take my complaints with a grain of salt. I look forward to seeing reviews from folks with much more knowledge of/preference for Mexican food. Personally, though, I doubt I'll try this truck again.
