My family and I tried going to a restaurant in this area which turned out to be closed. So we did a quick Google search for ceviche restaurants in the area. Mariscos El Chuy was listed with 4.7 stars so we decided to check them out. Honestly we almost drove past this little hidden gem. We were concerned about the restaurant's exterior aesthetics. But once we entered this very small restaurant and took a look at the menu, we were ready to order everything on it. The ladies in kitchen were extremely friendly and amazing cooks! Great food. The shrimp and fish was really delicious and really fresh. Even my wife who is from Mexico, really liked it.

If you're ever in the DFW area and are in a mode for Mariscos this is the best hole in the wall. Don't let your first impression of this place make you want to drive away. Give it try because it won't disappoint. Plus you can BYOB.

Tostadas chacalosas would definitely go back. Authentic! The spot is not the best ( beware ) but it was still good

Made reservations a few days prior to celebrate my cousin's bachelorette weekend. Our waitress…read more(Rachel) was AMAZING! She brought great vibes and was nothing but sweet and attentive the whole dinner. 100/10 Let's jump into the food portion! ***Starters:*** Avocado dip - DELICIOUS! This had a lot more flavor than what we expected and the homemade chips made it the perfect appetizer. 10/10 Rainbow Sushi Roll - this was also great. The roll tasted fresh, but it is on the spicer side so don't order unless you can handle some heat. 9/10 ***Entrees:*** I got the Beverly salad and subbed my shrimp for seared ahi. According to our waitress, she said the receipt would reflect the Seared Tuna salad since there is an upcharge for the substitution but the food came out just like I ordered. My salad was fresh, bright and didn't leave me feeling heavy. 10/10 My cousin ordered the Maple Salmon. I believe the waitress said they now use gochujang sauce instead of maple. My cousin really enjoyed her meal and said she would definitely order it again. 10/10 The bachelorette ordered the steak frites, she ordered it to be cooked medium but it came out a bit more rare than she preferred. She still ate it as is and said it was tender and flavorful. 9/10 Lastly we ordered the lobster mac, this was sooooo good! The mac was runnier than I would like but the taste made up for it. I would order it again. 9.5/10

Great experience at this restaurant that started with ambience. It feels like a seafood restaurant…read more Service was excellent. They utilize team approach where someone else brought the drinks and food runners brought the food. Manager checked on us to make sure everything was good. Our water glasses were never empty. I ordered a Bloody Mary that they returned with a shrimp and celery stick. Nice touch. I specifically went here to try their soft shell crab and it did not disappoint. Others in the party had lobster rolls and the fried shrimp basket. I forgot to mention that we had the appetizers , crab hush puppies and fried oysters and both were excellent. We also tried the bread pudding and key lime pie for dessert that we really liked. Overall we would definitely return.

Definitely recommend a reservation! Our 30 minute estimated wait time turned into 50+ minutes. The…read moreambiance inside is lovely and i love the different fish options. The mocktail was delicious. Our crab fingers appetizers were in a tasty sauce. The salad could've used more flavor to it and fresher lettuce, but i appreciated the amount of Parmesan cheese on top. I personally thought the presentation of the salmon was too much and a bit odd. I wish there was more sauce (or at least a side of sauce). The risotto was too bland, but the brussel sprouts were tasty and lemony. The salmon had a great crust, but it was too undercooked for me and wasn't the best salmon I've had. The filet mignon was ordered medium rare, but too us it seemed a lot more rare and wasn't seasoned well. The mashed potatoes were delicious. Our server was kind and helpful.
