I actually visited by accident though as I was driving past and noticed it was open, so I popped in for a quick visit. This is a gift shop focussing on selling items made in the Glasgow/central belt area, which I think is a really lovely idea. I am forever buying presents for Aussies back home and it's always nice to be able to get something really local. I had a bit of a browse and saw at least 35 things I would love to own - there's really nice jewellery, mugs, felted animals, tote bags, candles, tea, prints, tea towels, cards and lampshades. There's stuff for babies but not too much stuff (sometimes nice gift shops get overrun with baby stuff!) - bibs etc. I picked up a little iron-on kit (see picture) for £5, there's matching badges to go with it too. Suzi who runs the shop is super sweet and welcoming, and will help you find whatever you need. She mentioned she is going to be hosting small classes (max 6 people at a time) in the shop - crochet, calligraphy, screen printing etc which I think is a great idea.

Their motto is all about selling products created by local people around Glasgow and central Scotland. What a wonderful idea! It's a great wee shop for cards and gifts, there's some lovely hand crafted items. The stock changes all the time which is great, you never know what you'll find! I have a beautiful Glasgow skyline necklace the mr found in here. And the sell ovenbird coffee beans! Which was great to find out :) They also run classes and work shops some evenings, although I've not made it along to one, it looks like a lovely space to work in. And Suzi is lovely! I lost half an hour last time I popped in just browsing and chatting. :) just wish I was about when it's open more often!

When my mum comes to Glasgow there is always one place we have to visit without question every time…read more- Millers. As a craft obsessive she is like a child walking into a toyshop. This place has everything you could ever want in terms of craft, art and technical materials and I even find myself feeling all creative as I wander through its two floors. The thing that my mum raves about is the 'fill a box' which allows you to fill a rectangular box full of all different types and colours of card and paper to suit your needs. As long as the box closes then you get it all for £7.25 (or £5-odd for a smaller box). The concept is unique and it is the only place in the vicinity that I know of that does this. They also do a 'bonus card' - you get 10 points for every £1 you spend which you can later redeem against some of your favourite goodies. 1 point equals 1p so you are essentially getting 10% off every time you spend. My only qualm? The prices. A lot of their products could be found online on crafty websites for about half the price.

There are alot of things in here, including a great range of inks and paints as well as paper and pencils. I recently topped up on good high quality paper (with high quality prices!). The selection is excellent across the board with alot of stuff that I don't even know the name of so I won't even embarass myself by trying to find appropriate labels for them. 'Crafty stuff'. The staff are friendly and helpful and the place is always busy which is a good sign, particularly given there is another rival store just up the road that is also excellent. Well worth a look.

It's not a huge place but it's amazing the selection of yarn they manage to pack in. It's not full of the expensive Alpaca and cashmere blends you might find in John Lewis but it does house a staggering range of colours and textures and all at a decent price. I first discovered the place when looking for yarn to use at a Yelp arm knitting get-together organised by Lucy B. I hadn't been able to find anything I liked elsewhere but there was a great choice at Supasew. I ended up choosing a felty blue and white yarn with a leopard print. I knitted up wonderfully and was so soft and snuggly! I was also tempted into buying a gorgeous random yarn that ended up becoming a lovely hat for my friend. My most recent trip was to buy some yarn for Christmas knitting projects, I knew exactly what I wanted and was pleased that they not only had what I needed but that there were different options to choose from. A fluffy white yarn and a sparkly red are now mine and will soon be transformed into lovely Christmas themed bits and bobs. I was running in and out tonight but I spotted about 10 other yarns I want to go back and have a look at. As well as yarns the shop also stocks a good variety of knitting needles, buttons, ribbons and other haberdashery bit and bobs to help you finish your project. The store covers everything that a crafter could need and i find the prices quite reasonable. I spotted so many projects that i want to do that i think crafting is going to cost me a serious amount of money! On entering the store we were given a discount card that can be activated at the tills. Im not sure how much discount you get but every little helps! I visited this weekend after brunch and was impressed by the range of stalls. There's always lots of nice artwork here and there was quite a few pieces which caught my eye. There was stalls selling nice pieces of glasswork (I got a couple of pieces which look like Clyde from Glasgow 2014), cute baby gifts, jewellery and tea-cup candles by Made by Suzi. Most stallholders are pretty friendly and chatty and generally, the fair has a welcoming and chilled out vibe. There's a cash machine right on Merchant Square too so you can top yourself up with cash.

I was so pleased with it and I knew she'd appreciate that it's also hand crafted. I picked up a couple of other bits and pieces, there really is so much good things to choose from as the standard is high. If you're stuck for that something a little different I would definitely pop in and have a wee browse. It's set in a lovely area and if shopping goes well you can always stop off at one of the many surrounding bars and restaurants for a wee congratulated schwally.

Ooo-eeee! This is a cute little place! I knew it had opened as I've been following it on social…read moremedia, but I'm never normally in this part of town. However, on a foray up to the top of the town today I was delighted to stumble upon this place, and went in to have a look around. I really want to go back! It's such a simple and charming concept. You choose a piece of blank pottery, they show you how to go about painting it, then you paint it. They have a great many pieces of pottery to choose from, ranging from mugs, plates and bowls, to piggy banks, picture frames, and other fun items like robots and even skulls! You pay for the piece of pottery (and prices are very reasonable), and their paint fee is only £3. You can go on your own, or you can go as part of a group, and they have different sized rooms to accomodate different sizes of groups. They have a BYOB policy, with no corkage fee, and I can imagine having lovely social nights here. I've never painted pottery but I would dearly love to give this a go. I can imagine it would appeal to all ages - older people might love the opportunity to do something creative like this that doesn't require much physical exertion, and it's bound to appeal to kids, particularly with some of the more fun pieces of pottery, so I can see it being a lovely activity for a whole family to participate in. I also think it would be great for groups of craft minded pals, or even groups of workmates looking for something a bit different to do. I can see this really taking off at Christmas - they already have penguins, and I'm sure I spotted a snowman, and the person there told me they are likely to start doing workshops too. It would be lovely to make items as gifts, or for yourself to keep. I have my eye on a shark dish-sponge holder. I already have a frog, and there's just something funny about it. This was the Friday night of my dreams. Chilled out, creative and there were chocolates! I had set…read moremy heart on painting a toadstool, yeah I'd been on the yelp page checking out what I wanted to paint. I am horribly indecisive and need time to make decisions. Unfortunately, there were no toadstools for me to paint - I may have let my disappointment show with fake sobbing and petted lips. In the absence of toadstools I wasn't short of alternatives, so picked a mug and a bowl. There were loads of amazing stencils to help you create a beautiful piece of art and the staff were full of hints and tips on how to achieve the best finish. I was surprised by how long it took to do the fiddly bits and layer the paint. I didn't want to rush and spoil my lovely crockery. One of the best bits of this event was seeing what the other people were painting. How creative are yelpers!!! I loved getting to see other people's ideas and now have grand plans of returning and stealing all their creativity! We were told that the pieces would be ready for collection within the week and I got a friendly phone call on the Wednesday to say my bits were ready for collection - unfortunately I've not made it in yet but I will do soon, I'm desperate to see how they've turned out. I'm also planning on taking smudge for a wee painting session. I think this is something she would really enjoy and if all goes well it means I'll get to paint a toadstool!
