My daughter was supposed to have tubes put in and he shows up 2 hours late for the procedure. If we would show up even 5 minutes late for an appointment we would be told oh sorry you are late you need to reschedule but he can show up when ever you feels like it. My time is valuable too. My husband had an appointment with him at our local clinic after sitting in the waiting area for an hour we get up and leave. Sjulin, hopefully my time with him is almost up, I've been battling with strep throat since the beginning of this year and Dr. Sjulin just did a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy, on me earlier this week. I have seen him 2 times prior to my surgery and liked him both times. He was very honest from the start, and did not pressure me one way or another to get the tonsillectomy done. Who knows if it was Dr. Sjulins magical medical skills or just luck but, the second time I saw him was the last time I had strep before having my surgery and I am pretty sure that was the longest time I went without having strep, after I saw him for it. The day of my surgery went well, I was a little annoyed and anxious before my surgery even with all the medication I was on to relax me because my surgery time was scheduled for 10:40 am and I did not get taken to the surgery room until 11:30, nobody told me they were running behind and so I was laying in the bed all set up for about an hour, and I'm a little OCD about being on time, but I know sometimes there isn't much you can do about it especially in a hospital. Before my surgery Dr. Sjulin came in to see me and asked if I had any questions, I said no and from what I remember it was a pretty quick visit, i was on a lot of medication so I really can't remember very well. That was the last time I saw him. I know after my surgery he went to talk to my parents, and he explained everything to them, and what to expect, and the best way to take all my prescriptions I would be getting. I will see him one more time, for my follow up appointment, and even though I really like him, I hope it is the last time I have to see him, but if I ever need an ENT doctor in the future I will be sure to see Dr. Sjulin.

When I called ENT Specialists, PC, I mentioned that she had no health insurance. I was told to pay $300 at check-in and was referred to billing for an estimate. Billing estimated $178. The removal itself went smoothly and took less than 30 seconds. On our way out, I asked about the difference between the $300 payment and the estimate. The receptionist said the extra amount would be credited to my card. A week later, however, I received a notice saying I owed another $50. When I called, the person who had given me the estimate explained that it had not included office charges. I paid the additional amount. My advice to uninsured patients: get the estimate in writing and ask whether it includes every charge, including office charges. I would not TRUST ANY verbal estimate received.

Not only is he a BRILLIANT surgeon but he actually CARES about the well-being of his patients. Prior to surgery, Dr. Galligan clearly explained the procedure, providing models and even drawing diagrams for me to better understand. He patiently explained the ct-scans, using words I understood. His "right-hand," Nurse Samantha, was on top of everything - from personally scheduling every appointment to providing hospital phone numbers for needed paperwork. She was even able to request a temporary handicapped driving permit for me. Sam was cheerful, organized, flexible, and always available - she gave us the number straight to her desk. Dr. Galligan visited with us before surgery, patiently reassuring me and answering my last-minute questions. And, then he visited after the surgery (when I had mental clarity again) to explain how the procedure had gone. He wanted me physically, mentally and emotionally ready before having me dismissed from the hospital to begin recuperating at home. My recovery timelines were realistic, and their expectations of me were reasonable. No boot - just a big, well-padded calf bandage. The joint was weight-bearing right out of surgery, so I could attend to my own toileting. I HAD to keep my ankle elevated 24-7 for two weeks. He said healing the surgical cut on top of my ankle would be the most challenging part of the recovery process, so I followed his instructions, to a tee. I also received Physical Therapy to regain my ankle strength and range of motion. I just followed their instructions - simple. Also, just as importantly, Dr. Galligan and his support staff were CONSISTENTLY POSITIVE and reassuring. I could not have asked for -nor did I ever imagine I would be gifted- such a professional and empathetic TEAM!
