Recently they employed a physiotherapist and a dietitian works from the practice fortnightly. It is a one stop shop for all things health. I have always been able to get an appointment quickly, for example i phoned at 0805 this morning and I was sitting in my doctors office at 0900, now that is service! Of course you pay for what you get. Most appointments are $70 with a rebate from medicare for $35. The friendly receptionists are happy to process your rebate and have it sent directly to your bank account. I have seen a few people get bulk bill appointments, I guess it depends on circumstances. The waiting area is large and comfortable, with a small children's play area and a TV for us grown ups. The waiting room is almost always bursting at the seams but people are seen quickly and if there is a delay you can get a buzzer from the reception desk and go to the shops in the shopping centre. Mostly if they are running late it is only by 15 minutes. I for one am happy to wait because it means that if I am really unwell that I know the doctors will take the time with me and not rush to get on to the next patient. They also open late a couple of nights a week until 7pm for those who need to see a GP after work. Also they are open until 12pm on Saturdays for those who have become unwell over the weekend. If you need a referral to a specialist these GPs are fantastic and know of the best specialist in Brisbane to refer you on to. Parking is free and just out the front of the practice.

Although Brissie born and bred, I've lived in London until recently. Some years ago, I started to get a horrible rash for no apparent reason. It totally bewildered the GPs in London - one of whom sat there looking up a medical book trying to figure it out. Which didn't exactly fill me with confidence in his ability. After a slight freak out - after all, I was covered in an unsightly rash that nobody had a clue how to get rid of - I rang my Mum in Brisbane from London and she called Dr Harvey (from this very medical centre) to tell him what I'd told her on the phone. He was able to easily diagnose what it was from what I'd told Mum, and then advised what non-prescription ointment I should get from the chemist in London. I followed his instructions, and 2 days later, bye bye nasty rash. That's how good these doctors are! Most recently I went here with another complaint that the doctors in London were also perplexed by. Again, the doctor I saw here from this practice gave me an immediate (and correct) diagnosis and treatment. After 4 years of battling this particular health problem in the UK, all it took was 15 minutes in this Brisbane surgery to walk out knowing what it was and exactly how to fix it. So if you're new to Brisbane and live on the Southside, these are the GPs du jour.

Kempsie Road Medical Centre offers your basic General Practitioner's service for those unwanted non-emergencies, as well as a nurse on duty to take care of the even smaller things. Dr Satish Prasad is the doctor and he has over 20 years experience practicing as a medical practitioner and is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, as the placards over the walls can attest to. Apparently he also speaks fluent Hindi. What I like about Kempsie Road Medical Centre is that it's still a new practice, and therefore has less patients. Appointments are easy to make; I've found I can usually get an appointment on the day I call (rather than waiting for weeks like you do at some places). Oh, and they bulk bill. Perfect for uni students.

One of the stand outs for us is that Dr. Prasad is awesome at giving injections, that is why he was a natural choice for us when it came to immunizations. It's nice to go to a Medical Centre where they treat you as an individual and not just another number. The personal service and the relationship with the patient is a cornerstone of this practice. I don't know if I do want to recommend it to anyone else, just in case too many people discover how great it is and then it becomes hard to get an appointment! Of course after such a long flight, I started experiencing severe pain. I booked in with Aiden & he was really good. After just one visit the pain was gone. I did come back for a few more just to make sure it stayed away. I do believe in seeing a chiropractor regularly for maintenance to stay aligned. He also treated my mother for her sore neck. She also found great relief from his treatments. The front desk staff are so very kind, patient & helpful. I can't tell you what an overall pleasant experience it was. I highly recommend them. I am a newly signed up Fernwood member, and so far I'm pretty pleased with their service!…read more Although they don't offer the weird and diverse range of classes my old gym has, the classes on offer are really frequent and timed well for my schedule. The equipment is in really good nick and I love that the cardio equiptment all has individual screens that means you can watch your secret shame tv shows like home and away while going for a casual job on the treddy. The change rooms are a clean and well maintained and if you prefer privacy, instead of public nuding up, they will delight you. There is also an infrared sauna which I am sure has some great health benefits other than making you sweaty. Breakfast is provided in the mornings, and there are always pieces of fruit and orange segments available, as well as icy cold face washers in the fridge which are great for neutralising bright red exercise face after a hectic spin class. The gym is now open 24/7 which is a bonus for night owls.

Firstly, I am coming here only for pregnancy exercise classes as I am no longer able to do my normal training under doctors orders :( I do have to say that the pregnancy exercise classes held here are very good and the instructors are lovely. That being said, I will talk about the gym itself - it is old, tired, on the small side and in desperate need of a makeover ... oh and the bathrooms could do with some cleaning and sprucing up! The equipment has seen better days, the TV's are the older style of TV's (not the nice flat screens you get everywhere else), the air conditioning does not work very well and the group fitness rooms are the tiniest I have ever seen - even the group fitness rooms in gyms in Stanthorpe are bigger! The bathrooms only have 4 showers and two toilets which, for a female only gym, I personally think is not good enough. They do have real hand towels to dry your hands with but these are often wet and I would prefer not to touch them. On the plus side - the gym is open 24 hours a day, they have a full working kitchen, fruit available all day, cool face washers available to cool down with after your workout and the staff seem quite pleasant.

I have found he is always looking to treat the root issue & get a resolution rather than just treating the symptoms. He also stays abreast of new modalities in TCM & incorporates as appropriate. NRCHI offers easy to use online booking for appointments on their website. As convenient as this is, I have not generally found it easy to book on a last-minute type basis. I generally need to think & plan ahead. Note: there is a cancellation fee if you cancel your appointment on the day within four hours of your scheduled time. They are pretty upfront about this policy as they do not wish to offend anyone.

If you have a problem with your leg, back, arm... anything with a muscle, get thee to Judy!
