I went to Market by Macy's a couple weeks ago and had a lovely shopping experience and was so impressed. Market by Macy's is a condensed, boutique-like version of a full-line Macy's department store, that seems to target a more fashion-savvy, early-20s to early-50s customer. The departments that are there include a men, women, children, shoes, accessories, jewelry (fine and costume), fragrance, Sunglass Hut, and some sleepwear/lingerie, however all of the departments are much smaller and curated from that of the full-line standard Macy's store. There is a range of price points here with the same discounts of what you'd find at a standard Macy's store. Some of the brands that you'll find here include Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Coach, and Moschino. When I shopped here, the sales associate that I worked with was extremely helpful and friendly. She helped me order a pair of amazing boots, and after that transaction was completed, she continued to check in with me and speak to me by name throughout the rest of the time I shopped. I really appreciated the high level of service that she provided. I really wish that I could remember her name. She was excellent! I also bought a cute bodysuit that cost $21 after discount. The look of the store is really cute and easy to shop in. Because the inventory there is so limited, there isn't any clutter or mess which was nice. I live in Dallas so Southlake isn't in my near vicinity, but I will definitely come back sooner more than later to shop at Market again. The service, selection, prices, and experience is worth the trip. read more

What store doesn't open until noon? Ridiculous, not many Macy's around and you show up here just to be met with new hours.

LONG WAIT This is the best avocado toast I've had in the area. We came here the day Market opened and the place was spotless. The avocado was creamy and the radish and toasted bread had a nice crunchy texture in comparison. If I were to give the wait time a rating, it would be 3 stars but due to it being their first day I won't take that into consideration. read more

I initially headed to the Southlake Town Center for Eddie Bauer, where I planned to buy a winter coat. Unfortunately that store had been closed by the landlord for failure to pay rent, so we were left to look elsewhere. After popping into a few other stores, we walked into Market by Macy's, which honestly I'd never heard of before. It's much smaller than a traditional Macy's, with the clothing nicely spaced out and organized. I always feel like most of the departments in Macy's stores are so cluttered. Clothes are stuffed on racks or fallen on the floor, gross carpet, and good luck finding an employee to help you. Market by Macy's is an entirely different experience. It's more boutique, with less items, a more tailored look, and plenty of staff to guide and direct. I don't know how often they run sales like this, but we happened to stop in while everything was 50% off. I walked away with TWO high quality coats for $150! I'm failing to remember the name of the woman who helped me, but she went above and beyond, bringing out items from the back that she thought might fit what I was looking for. I would choose this store over a traditional Macy's any day, and look forward to heading back for a few more items once I drop some of this baby weight! read more

Such a great addition to town square. I try to always stop in because it's so much easier to get in and out to grab makeup here than anywhere else. I also love that I can get my fragrances here too, and if they don't have something in store, they order it and gets shipped to me quickly! The customer service is always great! The ladies are always helpful and courteous, and they don't follow me around, but they are aware when I do have a question or need something. Every department (shoes, clothing, fragrance, sunglasses, makeup, etc) is just the right size. Not a million choices, but enough to give you good choices. I was having problems ordering some things online so I popped into this new Market by Macys and it was without a doubt one of the most pleasant shopping experiences that I've had in some time. Kudos to the hiring manager because literally everyone I dealt with was a class act - not only was I immediately greeted as I walked in the door by Kelly who had a beautiful smile & bubbly personality ! She also came looking and found me about 10 minutes into my shopping experience to ask if she could assist me with anything. When was the last time any sales associate came looking for you said nobody ever lol! I was impressed. I was so pleased! Then as I was walking thru the perfume department another lovely associate named Bethany assisted me with a new perfume purchase. She knows her product line because she asked me what I currently wear and selected a winner at her first recommendation! Again I cannot tell you the last time I had that positive of a fragrance purchasing experience. Bravo ladies! Nicely done! read more

Website says open from 9am to 9pm so I arrived 9:45 and doors were locked. Turns out they open at 10 but Rachel let me in out of the cold and offered me a very nice espresso from the cafe. Cute store with nice selection. But no customer service. Passed by multiple workers and ignored. It felt as if we were nuisance to all.

Interesting concept. Obviously they are still working out the bugs. The atmosphere is fresh and appealing. The physical space's appearance is pleasant and upscale appearing. The men's department is stretched so thin with many items one of a kind. They carry a big selection of small and medium sized clothing, the same brands as a regular Macy's. When the store opened there were more unusual brands and there were a few men's shoes. Today the entire selection of men's shoe's were 2 choices of deck shoes. Can't figure out how they plan to survive. Seems from reviews the coffee shop is the bomb. read more

I have mixed feelings about this new concept by Macy's, the first in the country that just debuted in Southlake. First the good. I love that they have food, wine, coffee and beer. There's a small seating area so it encourages you to hang out and there's water you can serve yourself. Plus you can walk around and shop WITH YOUR WINE - winning! The staff was obviously new (had to ask 3 people before 1 told me we could take our wine on the floor) with a few experienced people stopping by to ask how things were going. I do think they should work on their price point - if I remember correctly the cheapest glass of wine was $14-$15 so for a salad and wine it was $30. I know it's Southlake but that's pretty expensive for a quick lunch. I would love to see them have happy hour or house glasses at better pricing. Next is the store and this is where I'm not totally sold. First, the window displays are not up to par for Southlake Town Square. If you walk by Evereve, Draper James, Anthropologie, Madewell, Alter'd State, Scout & Molly's, etc. you see that they put a lot of time and effort into their window displays and constantly rotate items, drawing foot traffic in. The windows at Macy's are either empty, curtained (??) or are obstructed the back of the restaurant seating booths - not attractive. Then there's the merchandising - some cool tables up front with a mix of home/fitness/fashion products but the rest of the floor space is too sparse with racks of clothes by brands you'd typically find at Macy's. They have a few local items sprinkled in but those need to be more prominent and everything needs more *stuff* in it to have that boutique-y feel. The staff were friendly and they had some fun stuff going on like free embroidery and jewelry making so I'll reiterate that I love the concept. I just think they'll need to raise their game to compete with true boutique-feeling stores and give a different experience than simply a smaller Macy's with a cafe. I'm hopeful that they'll figure out the merchandising and visual displays and would like to see more items plus more high-end and local brands prominently displayed. The men's area has astroturf and would be a perfect spot for a few small putting greens. Until then, I'll probably pop in for a coffee or a cheaper glass of wine once that's offered! read more

Macy's has always been a great place to shop. The variety and price points are wonderful. From business, work casual, vacation, lounge wear and to formal wedding, Ive always found something. There always something with a bit of an edge, or with a sexual yet classy vibe for date nights. And the jewelry choices (and sales) are wonderful. read more
