I love going to this market, the food is awesome BUT this week we had a horrible experience with Market House Coffee. I ordered a Latte with Soya milk and when it came it was very strong and very dark in colour. I politely asked the waitress (with long dark hair) if it was possible if I could please have more milk in it as it was too strong! She had a very bad attitude and - did a big sigh and said I will have to go ask!!! No mention of "course you can have more milk" She then went over to the coffee bar counter and was clearly talking about us to the man and the women in Market House Coffee and they were giving us daggers!! I don't think I was being unreasonable!! She then came back over with the same coffee, a tiny jug with a small amount of milk and said I would have to pay more for the extra milk! Both me and my friend were really shocked! At this stage I didn't know where to pour out a little of this strong coffee to then pop in this milk. She was so rude and just walked off!!
I later politely asked the lady behind the counter why was it such a problem that I wanted more milk and she said went on to say that's how Latte's are made. Never in my life have I had to ask for more milk in a Latte, they are usually a milky coffee!!! She was bloody rude and said it was my fault for not asking for a milky latte!!!
My friend also ordered a pot of tea. They didn't ask her what type of Tea they gave her earl grey without even checking! She expected a normal breakfast tea and when they were so rude about my coffee we didn't then want to mention the Earl grey that she would NEVER drink. My friend just left the tea on the top as she couldn't drink it, We won't ever be going back, it was a horrible experience with horrible people.
Such a shame for such an awesome venue with excellent food!! Those 3 people will be giving that food market a bad reputation as they clearly have no people skills. Every time we have been previously the staff have always been superb. read more
