Although the outside of this post office looks very small, it's actually quite large inside. They stock a large amount of goods from cards to food items as well as the usual lottery cards and essentials. If you live in the village the staff are very welcoming ( I assume they are if you don't live in the village aswell!), they call you by name and are happy to have a good natter. Outside this post office they have a very active noticeboard which tells you everything that is going on in Oakley, from people offering to do small jobs to group meets etc. This is the quietest post office that I know of!

It really is a one -stop shop and they have a huge range of magazines, including specialist ones that are difficult to find elsewhere, as well as newspapers, sweets, stationary and cards. This is also where the main post office is too - so expect big queues around peak times. I usually go around 3 or 4pm if I can, and find that the queues have pretty much disappeared by then. A really handy shop, with friendly, helpful staff. A huge asset to the town and a shop many of us cannot do without!

They also offer a home delivery service which is reliable and well run. The staff in the shop are friendly and helpful, as are the counter staff in the ever-busy post office. Access to the shop is good, if a little tight in places, access to the post office part can be difficult in a buggy/wheelchair due to the queueing barriers they have in place, but they at least can be moved if necessary.

The first time i went into this shop i thought nothing of it but on the second visit i was sold various out of date items including a bottle of wine . I mentioned this when i visited later in the week and was met with a blank stare..I didnt come in to return items i just thought they might want to know a few products out of date. No care whatsoever and no apology. I was a bit saddened by this because this ia essentially my local, but i still continued to buy here but ive started to.notice the young guy serving me (glasses) always stared at my hand when putting my pin number in the machine (which strangely i never have to do with the other guy working there , contactless always works)...Overall, the guy is dodgy , the stock is often out of date, no apologies given, stare at your fingers putting pin number in and at camara....It MIGHT just be enough now for me not to return.

The shop itself is a newsagents and offers a very wide selection of confectionary, magazines, newspapers and stationary. However they also run a fantastic daily newspaper delivery service to the surrounding villages. We have received a daily paper from them for over 20 years. They are also friendly shopkeepers, and always welcoming when entering the shop. All in all a highly recommended service to anyone new coming into the area who wants a reliable paper delivery service.

This for two reasons - firstly the Woolworths across the street has closed down and secondly they have the towns main post office now full installed upstairs. Having lost their floor space to the P.O. they've condensed it all downstairs but it's still well set out. The magazine section is well stocked with the usual to the bizarre and they have an extensive book section. The only problem with that is that evrything retails at normal price where as you can get the same book for half the price at Asda. They have a back door so the shop tends to be a passageway to the car parks behind, which is something they probably encouage. The P.O. upstairs does exactly what it says on the tin.
