    Marko's Rolls

The owner greeted us and told us the story of the restaurant, and why he opened it. His initiative was to create healthy food inspired by his son who had an illness. We ordered quite a few dishes and 2 alcoholic beverages. We like supporting local. The overall experience was good. Homemade food from scratch with the owner as your server in a very traditional atmosphere

Pork schnitzel with fresh (homegrown) cabbage salad, and to the right, the chicken cordon bleu, with fries and homemade ketchup!

Had a great conversation with the owner about his time as a chef and the origins of his restaurant. Charming, warm atmosphere with a varied menu that takes pride in homemade and homegrown ingredients. Our schnitzel and cordon bleu were great (large portions, too). We'll be back. All the best to them.

Hold onto your boots, this a place off the beaten path! A gem waiting to be discovered. Stopped in for supper, started with the Marko's spring rolls. They were terrific! I recommend them along with the chicken fritters! Both are out of this world. My wife had the stir fry, and I had the sausage sandwich. My sandwich was amazing. Very simple meat, bread and their cheese sauce. The star of the dish was the sausage, the bread highlighted the sausage. Very filling, but not heavy. Also the stir fry was simply cooked to perfection! Very flavorful, lots of meat and fresh vegetables. Dessert was also home made and very tasty. The walnut cake was fantastic. This is a place that everyone needs to come and eat at. It's simple. Home cooking. Made with Love from a grandmother. We all know that they cook with love and you can taste it! The ambience is casual, free, and enjoyable.. the staff know the menu and recommend the best supper I have had in a long time. To one and all come and eat great food in a great place with great service. I will be a regular whenever I'm in town.

Restaurant is small but clean. Food is typical Serbian food but with also quite a few vegan dishes which is not my experience in Serbia with the two times I went. We decided to go with the mixed meat plate for 2 and the smoked pepper stuffed with beans and potatoes. Both dishes were excellent and very authentic. I especially liked the smoked pork and the stuffed pepper. My husband enjoyed all the meat. Really good wine/beer/alcohol menu. My husband enjoyed the beer, I had a good glass of wine, and I had cherry brandy for dessert. Our server was excellent and very kind to our little girl and gave her a cookie for dessert. We will be back.

The food was delicious and like homemade comfort food! There were gluten free and Dairy free options and the service was also amazing!

The mined cabbage was bad, the meat was completely dry and full of black pepper to cover on shame

Plants grow on every available wall and window. The server was very helpful and walked us through the menu options. We'd never had Venezuelan food do this was new to us. Started with "The Fries": yuca fries which we all shared. Then on to the mains. We all had different arepas and they were all seasoned perfectly and packed with meat -- very filling. I had the chorizo arepa and it was amazing, so full of flavor. Although served as street food, they were so big that we all decided to use knife and fork to eat them. We were full after this so we decided to take some desserts home for later. The chocolate cake was excellent but the real star was the tres leches. This was sweet and smooth and a perfect end to the evening. Although it's all gluten-free, you can't tell. Everyone thought the meal was perfect and we'd go again. Five stars!

The owner tries to argue his way out of it that it is not greed but due to overhead. Get real. I can name at least half-dozen restaurants within walking distance that would not dream of prices for drinks bordering on usury. This places charges 70 percent more that virtually every other restaurant in the same area, all facing the same overhead. Every last one is $2.90 or less. Heaven is not even remotely competitive. The food I give four stars to but I have to downgrade the overall experience to one-star because I do not like being taken for a ride. I generally have 3 soft-drinks with a meal and 50 percent of my bill going to my beverage comsumption makes this a restaurant to avoid.

They have a second location downtown but this one is located next door to Springbank Cheese. We dropped in on an early Tuesday evening (6:30pm) and the patio was busy. Service was good; our waitress checked in on us several times. The menu is small; antipasti, pizza, pasta, kids menu and dessert. Dishes are meant to be shared family style. - Fusilli ($20.00) - fusilli had a good al dente bite. Really enjoyed the lemon bits; added bright, acidic notes. Didn't notice much, if any, of a chili sauce hit. - Kale campanelle ($18.00) - the green olives were a brilliant addition. Never had that in a pasta dish before. The only two things we didn't like about the pasta dishes was that the portion sizes were too small. You won't get full on one. - Tearing me up ($19.00) - pizzas are a better portion but there wasn't much eggplant on it. Tasted more artichoke than eggplant. The spiciness comes from the chili oil. Standard flavours. - Mind your manner ($22.00) - not sure where the "wagyu" comes in; we couldn't tell the difference. The hot honey was an interesting addition. Added some sweetness but nothing over the top. AK was good, simple Italian fare but the portion size is somewhat lacking. 3.5 stars.
