It's a fairly well known and acknowledged fact that if you need a good bra there are few places better than Marks and Spencer. The range of other stuff in this branch isn't so wide but at least they understand their priorities. This is our first port of call in search of the perfectly fitting and not overpriced bra. There's parking outside but it can get a bit crazy here at the weekends. Somehow they thought it would be a good idea to put a load of great shops next to a totally inadequate car park.

I haven't generally been to M&S for clothes before, besides the otherday when I tried on a linen suit to make my other half laugh via a surprise MMS message from me. The lady at the changing rooms was so sweet and give you a grade A service, it almost made me feel little guilty I was here to muck around. However what i do go in for quite often is the food. M&S advertisements could be seen as hyperbolic in how salacious they are shot. I disagree, the food is very good quality and have always had great dinners from here. Another misconception is that the food here is expensive, again I disagree sir. There are always some greet 3 for 2 deals on food and if I'm feeling lazy I can spend about a fiver for a ready made meal, a tasty ready made food I may add. I've also got a couple of presents from here and bought a lovely rose for my mum to plant for Mother day, all for a price of £6.99 And finally the most important thing, the booze. There is a great selection of white/red\rose wine and champagne. Again starting at reasonable price to prices that do justify the M&S common conception. Oh and nearly forgot, M&S is one of the very few places that will do custom celebration cakes in the city. Give it atleast a week before the event though.

I also go here if I want a bra fitting as the ladies are well trained and so professional I always feel at ease. I don't know what they give their staff but they are always so pleasant and helpful. I don't often buy clothes here but I have noticed they are a lot better than they used to be and much more reasonable that I expected. The gift section is always fantastic, especially at christmas and its just so nice to have somewhere in the city to pick up some lovely food and a bottle of wine to enjoy when you get home.

It has been widely advertised but I would say anyone interested needs to carefully shop within the offer, depending on your choices you can get save over £10 or as little as £2. If you shop within the offer carefully it ends up as a meal for 4, large chickens have been part of the offer sometimes and ready meals that serve 4 plus they had a great cheese board in the offer last time but by lunchtime on the Saturday no cheese boards were left or restocked on sunday. Unfortunately the most expensive items in the offer do sell out very quickly and sometimes, at least in the Swansea shop, they run out of side orders and desserts making the offer no longer available early on in the day.

On the upper floor you will find babies and kids clothing , toys , books , homewares. You can find some good bargains if you have the time to hunt around the store , I find it a little big and at times impossible to find what I am looking for. The quality of the clothing is very good and is not badly priced. There can sometimes be long queues but the checkout staff try and open up as many tills as possible

The whole place is more intimate than large department stores such as House of Fraser or John Lewis, and the feeling is one of quality over quantity. For me, the gift and homeware areas are probably the most appealing, but glancing into their other 'departments' they have a Homes & Gardens area, a kitchen department, a range of furniture, plus some fabrics, lamps, mirrors, and more. Their gift section is also fantastic with brands like L'Occitane and Burt's Bees for toiletries, some really pretty scarves and jewellery, and then beautiful gift bags and paper to wrap them in. It's a shame this department store is hidden away and now has to compete with John Lewis, because it sells such beautiful things and it could be so easily missed if you didn't know about it. It's expensive, but everything is so nice that if I want something, I have to have it however much it costs.
