Seriously, this is as good as it gets. As a frequent traveler, I am so used to the megahubs and such. Flying in and out of Blenheim is such a treat.
On arrival, you just walk off the plane, through the small terminal and on to the curb. If you have luggage checked, it will be carted up on the left. If not, car rentals are mostly on site, and there is usually a taxi or two available. It was about $20 to get me in to town.
On the way out, there is zero security, which is so nice for an American who is swamped with airport security. There are several flights a day to AKL, WLG, CHC...anywhere else? That'll do for such a small airport.
There are one or two places to grab a drink or snack, but they do close quite early. Staff here are all friendly. Bathrooms are clean. Seating is adequate. It's really just a fantastic airport! read more
