It is known to surfers as one of the best beaches to surf at, cliffs to hike, has parking, and a restaurant. There is a lifeguard on duty from end of May and the beginning of September.

A 'blue flag' area which is popular with surfers, swimmers, canoeists and walkers. The Pembrokeshire coastal path takes you in either direction around the cliffs to enjoy the fantastic views. We have friends in St Davids (just a few miles away) so have often combined visits to see them with walks around this lovely bay.

Of my entire trip, I still rush to show everyone the pictures of this place before anything else. Some of the sites here are look like the pictures you see as those default Windows desktop wallpapers! This place is great for anyone with a sense of adventure and lots of energy! I'm a fat dude that never exercises but managed to get through the 7 mile hike, several mile Kayak tour then 5 hour long coasteering adventure! The views and energy level of the staff make you forget how exhausted you are! To top it all off the lodging is actually quite nice and cozy. The food is absolutely AMAZING - very hardy and rich. Find time to hit this place up for a lifetime of memories!

There are a few activities to choose from, but my mates and I did the coasteering, kayaking and hiking. Our 4 mile scenic hiking excursion took place along the coast, on cliffs overlooking the Atlantic ocean. Although it was a tad cold, given that it was windy and the end of October, the scenery was breathtaking and a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the city. The map they give you leads you to this amazing pebble beach at the end of the hike from where you depart back to the lodge. The coasteering was supposed to include cliff diving or jumping but due to the rough conditions in the water we were only allowed to scale the large boulders while spending a minimal amount of time in the water. Although we were provided with wet suits the temperature of the water, 10ºC / 50ºF, still felt quite cold. The final activity, the kayaking, was pretty self explanatory, and while fun, the least interesting to me, since I've done it in more exotic places before. You take off from a small beach and you basically paddle around for a short while, there's also these miniscule "rapids" near the boulders that you can paddle through if you wish. The food served at the lodge, was quite good, all homemade. From what I remember there was a really nice curry and a really nice soup that the lady cooking made for our group.

An abundance of inspiration for artists and photographers alike and has even been known to have good surf on windier days I have been here many a time and it has never failed to disappoint. Barafundle Beach is, for me, the best beach in Wales - And I'm not the only one who thinks it's…read moreamazing - It was voted by the Times and the Good Holiday Guide as one of the top 10 beaches in the whole world. Barafundle is a sandy beach, surrounded by limestone cliffs - you therefore have to be prepared for a bit of a hike along the cliffs to get to the beach (about 1K) - not a difficult walk, but steep steps at both ends. You can park in the National Trust car park for a few quid. This whole estate (Stackpole) is National Trust, and therefore beautifully preserved - This obviously limits facilities. There are tea rooms in the car parks near the beach - but no facilities at all once you walk there. This is to the great benefit of the beach - it is truly natural and wonderful. The 'desert island' experience is well worth the walk. The water quality is fantastic - it is crystal clear. There are no rocks or dangerous currents - so bathing is very safe - Although you must be careful because there is no lifeguard cover here. There is a car park up on the cliffs and then it's just a ten minute walk down to the beach from there. There is a wide promenade at the top of the beach, many steps and one ramp. This is possibly one of the best beaches in Pembrokeshire. You can get to in either via the…read morenational trust car park on to of the hill which then has steep steps going down to the main beach or (my favorite) you can take a stroll through Bosterston Lily ponds and take in the the views. It's about a mile or so walk up and down dale though so not for the faint hearted. The water is usually crystal clear so bring your swimming togs.

It really is a bit hidden away, but the gardens here are truly spectacular, and there are acres and acres to explore. For kids it is an adventure waiting to happen and there are lots of different walks to follow. There is a small cafe/restaurant which serves cream teas to die for! Highly recommended, although you probably do need a nice day to go and appreciate the beauty of the place.

If you park at Whitesands Beach (which is about £4-5), you can take the path from the parking lot. It's a little bit of an incline but listed as a grade 1 walk (the easiest). I am not someone who regularly hikes, but had no difficulties, even though it was slightly rocky or muddy in places. You can easily just go 1/2-1 mile for beautiful photo ops and then turn back (if wanting something easier), or you can do the fuller 3-3.5 mile walk. There are toilets (for £0.20) and a snack shop at Whitesands Beach, which is also nice. Highly recommend if you want an easy foray to see the beautiful Welsh coast.

Rates are very reasonable ( 25 GBP for a regular fishing trip, more for shark fishing or a full boat charter, as of summer 2013. Ideal for either novice or experienced anglers -even if you catch nothing, the coastal trips let you see some fantastic scenery !.
