A sign of things to come : not that much Seated in a small window booth overlooking the beautiful view of wilko. There is a menu online and it shows one price then another on the actual menu in the venue. They were off by a few pounds ! Anyway staff seemed relatively attentive when they weren't busy cleaning cutlery that had already been clean or pacing the laminate. The style of service felt to me that this was a relatively new venture as they had a cloud of staff appear throughout us eating to ask the usual questions ( is everything ok etc) . Just pick one serving staff and stick to your table The menu showed us a Friday and Saturday night set meal so we opted for that considering the price would have been higher ordering normally Starters of falafel and hummus was very nice and the bread was excellent ! But when it came to the main for the price you pay 1) you expect a sauce nf not to have to pay and extra £5 for two sauces. 2) it not to be thrown on the plate with rice all under the edge of the plate 3) it be on a HOT plate - basics really and finally 4) the food to be served together so when we ordered our mains and they arrived. Unbeknown to us we got a small side salad with BBQ onions but these were served about 6/7 minutes after our meals had arrived The meat and rice were nice but the Adana pictured was very greasy and felt like needed longer cooking All in all I rate this place as a 2.5 Points ; Price to high Cold plates Need a consensus of who serves who! Will possibly return but will bide my time !

Booked at half 8 and only received the mains at half 10…read more The food was dry and cold. The rice looked like packet uncle bens rice and for £15 really wasn't that good value for money. When we complained the owner became argumentative about his positive reviews??? Work that one out. The majority of the staff were nice enough however one waiter did not have a clue about diet coke and normal coke. We were given 10% off the bill which was a nice gesture however doesn't stop me giving my review I won't be going back and I recommend other alternatives. Not a good start Yasmin

A Legend on Duke St a small little take away you assume to be like all over take always if you didn't know where you were but this one has a certain Aura to it . Probably from the song. But but but, I cannot say it was actually the best I've ever had! For a Friday night about 11pm the wait was about 20 minutes for a chicken kebab! So not only was I cold and getting increasing hungry I found the staff to be a bit brash . Being spoken to in that manner was well I would find it a bit stand off ish. Onto the food, a large chicken kebab was £6 not too bad . Roti / chapatti it was on was very nice and the chicken was quite good and a little juicy ! But it was so overloaded with cabbage that it was like a cabbage sandwich so after spending 2 minutes scraping it into the bin I had an acceptable kebab . Would only return if no where was open nearby that was new to try ! Scored 3 stars due to quality of chicken !

Hygiene standards seemed better than your average kebab shop, skewered meats on display in counter adds a nice touch! All meats cooked on open coal barbecue, however this is reflected by the 20 minute wait! Staff were pleasant enough, happy to recommend best sellers. Food wise, a large chicken kebab at £6 is not a bad price. - Generous amount of chicken served on chapatti with salad and sauce . Chicken was tender and juicy with an authentic char grilled taste! On the whole, not a bad choice of takeaway, it's fair to say Geno's is one of the better kebab shops in St Helens!

The Botanist have a growing number of locations, the big majority of them are in Northern England,…read morethis is one of their newer restaurants which opened towards the end of 2019 in Warrington. The decor inside is typical Botanist style, it does look good and the staff are pretty friendly (although some of them don't seem to be wearing a uniform which meant I didn't even realise someone worked there when I was waiting for a staff member!) It can get pretty busy at peak times, especially in the run up to Christmas, I did originally try to visit on a Sunday afternoon and this place was full, I do recommend making a booking if you can, they do require a credit/debit card for this but they only charge you if you fail to attend, which is a flat £5 (pretty fair, especially considering they can only run at limited capacity to follow government legislation). I was offered a free bottle of prosecco as part of their loyalty scheme which can be redeemed two weeks before (or after) one's birthday, I feel this is a nice gesture, I don't really like prosecco so it's a shame it couldn't be swapped for anything else other than a soft drink, especially considering most of their cocktails are much cheaper anyway - that is an issue with Head Office and it's still a nice gesture to offer something for free. I ordered the gluten-free chorizo and chicken kebab, it seems the recipe has been changed slightly, there seemed to be more garlic butter actually on the chicken rather than pouring it over (which has been replaced by a paprika oil to give it a slight kick), it gave it that extra flavour and tasted really good, the chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly, the chorizo was just OK, and the fries on the bottom were good. My friend, who ordered the fish and chips was also pleased with her dish, she mentioned: "It was almost perfect, however, the curry sauce was a little watery." I also like how they now have a digital bill, not only is this better for the environment but it means I can have a receipt emailed to me and also fill in feedback on the tablet which they serve it on. 4* - The food was really good, and this is one of my favourite locations in The Botanist chain and I will be returning. A couple of flaws mentioned but all in all a pretty good place to grab some food.
