It was something never imagined before. Imagine a hearty meal, but on a bagel. The cream cheese with chives was true to name. Also fresh and smoothly delicious. We bagged 2 bagels for next day's breakfast. The owner is friendly and loved sharing the story behind his bakery. We talked for so long that I had to get another coffee even though it was well past their closing time. The bagels are all made at the shop from fresh ingredients. It's a real bakery. They even have some cakes and desserts, if you so desire. The seating inside is cozy. The coffee good and strong. It is now one of my favorite stops in Leiden.

The menu for this restaurant was short but featured several creative choices with local twists (in different ways). My wife chose the Goat Cheese Salad, which featured a plentiful serving with nice greens along with other vegetables and nice add-ins such as pecans. I opted for the Indonesian-inspired Chicken Satay, which was served with fries and salad. Again, the serving was more than enough. We both were very happy with our dinners. My wife enjoyed a homemade lemonade to drink while I was quite satisfied with one of their red wines (Corte Ortone Brindisi). The final bill was €57.50, or €28.75 per person.
