Comfortable beds etc but that's where it stops. Pool is closed. They let you use the Hyatt across the street but it is not a great pool. Elevators are a mess. One is broken and you have to hit two buttons to get an elevator. The concierge lounge is a disaster. It's never stocked w snacks etc. it's been out since 5pm yesterday. This is truly not the Marriott experience we are used to. Staff was not helpful in regards to complaints. Just go hum too bad. Wouldn't stay here. read more

The shower was dirty and had a million pubes. They came and cleaned it. The lady took photos of it for management and it took her 10 minutes to get it clean, and said 'that was disgusting!' They offered me a free breakfast as compensation. read more

Visiting the hotel for an event in their grand ballroom. Reception lobby was spotless and well organized with welcoming service. Staff were so courteous and kind. From the main entrance keep right and head straight down the hallway. There will be a double doorway with a few arcade games leading to the arcade room to the left and patio space to the right. The ballroom will be just ahead to the right. Nice large stage and space for events or special occasions. Sound system and large screens. Designated parking structure. read more

This is my 4th time staying at this Marriott property and my first time leaving disappointed. They are doing renovations to the restaurant, elevators and apparently the pool (which is empty and looking nasty). It would be great if they noted this information on their website. My advice is try the Mission Inn or Hyatt Place in the same area... At least until Marriott gets done the work they started. read more

Avoid this Marriott. I recently stayed at Marriott Riverside 2 nights, for a work trip. After a long flight, I got into my room and just wanted to shower and sleep. The only room available when I made the res had 2 beds, so I went to the first one and the pillows and sheets had short black hairs all over them! The sheets and pillowcases were crinkled but fluffed up like someone just arranged a dirty bed. I went to the second bed, exhausted and assumed it was clean. Huge mistake. The morning after the second night, I checked out and flew home. My eye was bothering me so much on the flight and I couldn't figure out why. I arrived home, went to sleep, and woke up with a full-blown eye infection. I emailed Marriott and they said they would get back to me in 5 business days. That was more than 3 weeks ago. I've emailed again to check on what they're going to do. No response. read more

The location is good. On the outside, the hotel looks very nice. The lobby is very nice. The problem started when I get into my room. The rooms are fine. The hot and cold water in the bathroom sink does not work properly. I can only get warm water, no matter which way I turn the faucet? So I have no cold water to brush my teeth. That is completely annoying. The parking garage is far away from the hotel. So the first night I paid $35 in addition to the hotel price to have to walk a good distance to get to the parking garage. On the second night, I decided to use valet, which is $45 a night. The bed is comfortable, the room is clean. My two main issues are the water not working properly, in the parking garage. read more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel last night. The staff couldn't have been nicer! When I checked in Noah was there to assist. He was genuinely nice and very helpful and efficient. He is truly an asset to this property. We were lucky enough to enjoy the Concierge lounge for snacks and breakfast. Paola and Alexis were friendly and my wife really enjoyed her conversations with them. She also had a nice conversation with Vanessa at the front desk. Natalie was also friendly at the desk when I checked out. The hotel room was very clean and it was quiet. Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the pool area, but maybe another time. It was inviting. If you are in the downtown Riverside area and need a place to stay, seriously check this hotel out. You really can't go wrong with a Marriott hotel. Especially this one! read more

I loved it! I am a faithful Marriott customer and genuinely enjoy staying at any of their brand(s) of hotels. The Marriott Riverside at the Convention Center is located in downtown Riverside with walking access to restaurants, a weekend farmers market and shopping. When I am there on business, by wife loves to walk around the historic area while I'm out. The hotel is clean and the rooms comfortable, with a coffee maker, refrigerator an big screen television. As a Bonvoy member, we have access to the concierge lounge. I love to start my day with their great breakfast buffet. The view of the surrounding mountains is beautiful, especially from the deck while enjoying my breakfast. There is also a Bistro that I enjoy in the evenings when I want to stay in. They have a good variety of food like flat bread, chicken wings and a great charcuterie platter. Throw in a beer, cocktail or glass of wine and what else could you ask for? They have a convenient parking garage adjacent to the hotel and friendly staff. I am never disappointment with my stays at Marriott. The pampering does a soul good! read more

Very friendly staff but issues with the restaurant/room service. Our food was delayed for over an hour due to their error and when we finally did get our food they over charged us. I ordered the continental which includes a juice and hot beverage. I was charged extra for each. I called the desk they transferred me to the person in charge of the food service and she assured me that I would be credited for that meal entirely. As of now I did not receive a credit. That is my gripe. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we had a nice view of the mountains from the 8th floor. My mistake: to save time, with a tired kid in tow, I went on the hotel website in the parking lot and booked the room. I rushed and didn't realize there was a service fee of $17.99. There is no free breakfast or free wifi unless you sign up for the Marriott rewards. read more

I stayed here for a company event in Sacramento. The lady at the front desk was rude and dismissive. I requested two queen beds and she said that I was in a king room and didn't offer any possible solutions. She assigned me to room 225. The moment that I entered I got the strong sent of urine. I immediately called the front desk and complained. The man that answered was polite and kind enough to switch me to another room. He took the time to meet me at the new room with new keys. The decor was very outdated and nothing seemed throughly cleaned. There was a lining of dust on the lamp shades and an old phone from the 1980's. Marriott, you can do better than this. On top of everything breakfast was not complimentary and the deposit was crazy expensive, $250 For one night, plus a $10 parking fee. I do not recommend staying here. read more

The hotel is perfectly placed in downtown Riverside especially for the holiday festivities in the area. As a Bonvoy member it was so easy to check in during the morning with an estimated arrival and assign a mobile key on my app! I didn't even need to stop up front and was able to just head straight to the room and settle in. The same with the checkout! The rooms are clean and updated. The best part was the size! Fabulous staff, beautiful lobby, solid outdoor pool with hot tub, nice restaurant, and the COZIEST bed and duvet I've found- and I stay at a lot of Marriotts as I travel weekly for work. The shower rocked as well- very large and powerful. The room was clean, bright, with updated furniture/art, and a most gorgeous view. Only bummer was- no on-sight laundry- so I had to make a laundramat run midway through the week. The front desk said they offer dry cleaning services, but I just need a regular washer/dryer for my work clothes, so I had to leave the premises to find that, but the front desk lady kindly gave me directions to find it. read more

I was recently here for a conference at the convention center and when my family and I first checked in, we found the floors next to the bed extremely dirty. We didn't bring it up to management since we checked in late and we were so busy over the next few days that we just didn't make time to speak with anyone. Other than this, they cleaned the room and filled the towels on a daily basis, and the proximity to the convention center could not be beat. But the first thing we noticed were the dirty floors and it left us wondering what else we weren't able to see was also dirty. read more

I spent nearly twenty nights here last month for work purposes. It's a very comfortable hotel with reliable internet and a Starbucks bar and regular bar inside. The food at the restaurant is just okay but was convenient. I had room service several nights but room service wasn't available every night. All of the staff was very friendly. Paid parking is available. The mission inn is within walking distance which is convenient. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. read more

I stayed here on a weekend evening and thought everything at this hotel was fine. This is a full service Marriott. They have a parking garage adjacent to the hotel and overnight parking for guests is $25. However, you may be able to snag a good rate, especially on weekends, so that it still may be a good deal overall. I thought the place was very well maintained and found the staff to be very courteous, friendly and helpful. Came here for an event at the convention center. This is definitely a GREAT location. The convention center and the hotel are only apart by a large court yard which makes it super easy to go between both places. Even with a large event that gathered over 500 people the elevators sufficed even during the peak hours. Fob style keys make it super easy to move around secured areas. My room faced the pool which I was so happy for until a group of youngsters was out there will until 2am partying it up. Truthfully I was so tired to try to do anything about it and fell back asleep. They serve Starbucks coffee in the morning at the bar which is awesome, their restaurant is also very nice; we had breakfast there and it was delish! Inside the rooms are pretty modern-ish. Nothing luxurious but it offered a very comfortable stay. I did not experience cleaning service as I had a lot of work equipment and expensive gear so wasn't comfortable with people coming in and out of our room, we spent 3 nights there. Aside of the convention center being steps away so is downtown riverside! It's such a cute quaint little city, might visit again just to explore as a tourist as there are tons of beautiful old buildings all around! We had the pleasure of escaping to the farmers market on Saturday for about an hour or so and it was so delightful too! read more

I attended a dance competition the past weekend and met up with my family that was staying at the hotel and I have to say that this hotel is poorly mismanaged. The hotel was not properly staff for the amount of guests that were attending the event across the way at the convention center. I hold the GM solely responsible for these incompetencies wait times for food were longer than normal and the lobby was left dirty and unattended to. I asked to speak with GM to address my several concerns and was met with "she's normally not here on the weekends" I was shocked that I was unable to speak with a GM on such a busy weekend for a hotel. Definitely the type of experience I expect from a hospitality business on such a busy weekend. Completely disappointed with what this establishment considers hospitable. read more

Attended a conference at the Marriott located in downtown Riverside just next to the conference center. It's located right near the Mission Inn in the heart of downtown Riverside. The conference area was comfortable and the food was very good! Parking is steep at $20 for the day but there are some street spots available in the nearby area. read more

Was in Riverside for one night for a concert really happy with our stay nice place was able to check in quickly friendly staff. I don't have a lot of requirements when staying in a hotel after all its really just a place to sleep so it should be clean and safe... oh and it should have a bar the Marriott met all those criteria, and the bartenders were really friendly and poured well so that is a plus. The only thing that prevents a 5th star are the room was a bit sterile and they charge for everything. Internet extra as was parking, though to be fair it seems like no matter where you go in Riverside you have to pay to park. read more

One of the original Hotels in Downtown. I was quite impressed with how nice and updated it is. Very nice lobby. We arrived early and was not expecting to check in early. Haley greeted us right away with her friendly self and to our surprise she told us we could check in and our room was ready. After a long drive it was nice to arrive and be greeted so warm. The room had been updated nicely with hard wood floors and nicely decorated. It had two queen beds and a chair with end table. I was hoping for a couch like the pictures show. But, it does say online there may be a couch or chair. There was a mini fridge and coffee maker. Fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Be very careful getting in the shower, it was very slippery and there is no bath mat. We visited the well stocked bar and had a cold glass of beer and nice glass of wine. The staff was very friendly. For the morning they have breakfast options and Starbucks with pastries. We usually stay at the Hyatt across the street but they were booked. We frequent this area and this may be our new place to stay. Huge plus, Parking. The parking structure was almost empty and it was very convenient getting in and out. read more

We just stayed at this hotel this past weekend. Hotel look great aesthetically from the lobby and the rooms are spacious. Here comes the problem: 1. It takes forever to get someting delivered to our room. Requested extra towels that never showed up for example. 2. Unfortunately this past weekend it rained everyday. we stayed on the 10th floor and on our last night, we came back at 3am after attending a private event. Came into the room with water dripping from the ceiling in a couple of spots. Went to the front desk and immediately informed them and was only offered for us to change the room. But since we are checking out that same morning, we decided to stay. Slept for a couple of hours and woke up with our floors soaking wet. We did give this hotel an extra star for being able to get us a comp night. But it is mind bottling knowing that a marriott hotel standard would have an issue like this. But I am grateful that the customer service is at least still there. We would try to go there again next time and give it another shot. read more
