    What an AMAZING experience! I am so impressed by the team at Mars Services and their professional customer service, thorough cleaning and complete concierge of repairs offered. As a real estate investor and property manager I can say that the service I received was truly a 5-star remodeling service. My sincere thanks to Derek H. for handling all my urgent requests, Elizabeth for her detailed cleaning, and Paul D. for smooth processing of my job quotes. Because of their fantastic abilities I was able to showcase my rental home the next day and received multiple application requests. I look forward to using them as my primary vendor going forward and gladly refer their services with confidence. Every care was taken to my needs and I truly appreciate all their hard work.

    I have nothing but great things to say about this company. I found this business through my favorite app... YELP of course. They have quite a few 5 star reviews. My kitchen sink was completely stopped up due to a clogged pipe. Water would not flow through and we required a hydro-spray pressure wash of our pipes (which is not covered by my home warranty). Putting the job off was just not an option because we use our kitchen sink and dishwasher every day. I requested the service through the yelp app and was contacted by the company within an hour. They were able to send someone out to do the repair the next day for a reasonable price. The plumber was very polite and professional. He explained everything that he was doing and was able to complete the job in one business day. The company also does other services; as listed on the business card. I highly recommend them.

    My son came home and found the upstairs hall bathroom faucet just running with no way to turn it off at the sink, below the sink, or at the water main. Called my home warranty and no one could come out till 5 days later! Mars Services responded to my request in minutes and sent a plumber out within hours! Very pleased with the level of service and professionalism. Highly recommend!

    First off. If you are renting and going through a property management company and they are using MARS Services, be prepared for hell. The guys who did the work completely ruined the main bathroom. We had a massive shower leak and had to have the shower completely rebuilt. The shower looks AWFUL and is some of the worst quality of work I've ever seen. When the workers said they were done, I was appalled at how incomplete the job was and how terrible the craftsmanship was. They just said someone would come back and finish. It's 16 days later after they did the job and the project manager Chris, is completely deflecting any responsibility as soon as we try to hold him accountable and is now telling us to go entirely through the PM company. It went relatively smooth with him and we generally had no issue communicating as my PM company has been relatively uninvolved and allowed the issues to filter through me as I was directly involved and impacted. But once their was an issue, he run's and hides and throw his hands up. They won't help you right away. You go to the back of the line before they fix their mess ups. They won't squeeze you in or push a tech off a new job to come and fix their mistakes. We've waiting weeks now and haven't had our main bathroom for over a month.(between the demo prior and everything) In my opinion, they care more about their tech's turning new jobs before making time to fit you in and finish a job. The pictures speak for themselves. 1st photo was before and the 2nd is now. The shower tile wall was built covering the toilet paper holder screw. They measured it terribly. INSANELY terrible craftsmanship. There is now a massive gap between the shower pan and the tile floor that wasn't there before. The hole where the Temperature handle was, was left open and the screw hole was still covered by shower tile so you cant even put it back on. The shower pan is trash quality(took forever to get a pan and the pan isn't even the right measurement. This work has literally ruined the appeal of the bathroom. I guess I'm lucky I'm just renting and it's not my house. But it's important people are aware of their lack of accountability. Still not done with the job. I hope no one's jobs go south!

Based on the exceptional reviews, I called Schrader to come out and fix the problem. They sent technician Michael Badgley. I was initially given two quotes, one for roughly $800 and the other for $4,000. After a quick inspection of my home, Michael determined that he would have to dig a hole in the back yard at a cost of $5,700. While I didn't really understand how the quotes kept changing, I agreed to the scope of work as I'm not a plumbing expert and needed to get the stoppage resolved quickly. Bewildered, I later sent the receipt to my neighbor, who informed me that my house was pier and beam, not slab as it indicated on the quote. I recalled Michael asking me where the crawl space was and I wasn't able to identify it (my fault as an uniformed homeowner) although I showed him the area I thought it was in inside the master bedroom. He passed right over it without a second look. Later, after speaking with my neighbor, I was able to go over and find the crawl space myself easily. Michael fixed the pipe under the toilet in the main bathroom and then proceeded to tell me that I would need to replace all of the pipes at my house at a cost of $30k. He couldn't even assure me that the problem I had just handed over $5,700 for was fixed. The icing on the cake was the $100 bill that I had tucked into my lunch tote on the kitchen table in view of the technician, and when I returned later it was missing. That was certainly my own fault for leaving it unsecured. I was concerned about the entire process and wrote to the owner, John Schrader. I waited several days with no response to my email or phone calls, which spoke volumes to me as a customer. After my third attempt to contact him, I was finally passed off to a service advisor. I explained my concerns to him, that the crawl space was never properly identified and that I wasn't sure that the repair that was done was necessary. He offered me a refund of $750 "to remove my bad review" which I hadn't yet written. Less than 2 months later I experienced the same stoppage. I called Schrader again and was told that the pipes needed to be replaced. I finally called another plumber who identified the source of the stoppage, this time to be at the front of the house instead of the rear. They fixed the problem for only a fraction of what I paid to Schrader. He explained that the first repairs were unnecessary. If you like being robbed, by all means give Schrader Plumbing a call. I absolutely feel violated and taken advantage of as a single female homeowner. If you want to save your hard earned money and get the job done right, get a second opinion.

I want to give a huge shout-out to everyone I spoke with--from the outstanding customer service representatives to the upper management team. They took the time to understand my situation as a disabled veteran who was exposed to Sarin nerve gas during the Iraq War. Because of that exposure, I now deal with cognitive and speech impairments, PTSD, and other challenges that affect me every minute of the day. I currently need a caregiver for eight hours each day to help me manage daily activities. Because of my cognitive challenges, I know I can be difficult at times. If I can't express what's on my mind right away, I lose my train of thought and become frustrated. This is something I struggle with daily. I want to sincerely apologize to the customer service representatives--who are the first point of contact and such an important part of the company--if I came across as unprofessional at any time. It was never intentional. Having worked in the insurance industry for most of my career, I understand how critical that first impression is. I always trained my own employees to greet patients with a smile, offer water or coffee, and make them feel welcome. Sunny Services does exactly that in their own way. Their team makes you feel cared for from the very first moment, always asking, "What can I do to make your day better?"--and they mean it. They spent the next 3-4 hour bashing my cast iron sewage line with a sewer clean out tool. They said they would have to tunnel to get the ball out. They returned the next day to excavate. They sent the same plumbers to excavate and not hire a professional dig crew. They let me know they would dig under my foundation footer, instead they chiseled through my footer with a jack hammer and cut the rebar doing permanent damage to my foundation (this was affirmed by multiple plumbers, foundation repair companies Ava a stuctual engineer). They tunneled a few feet underneath my foundation. They told me they removed the ball. I didn't trust their work so I had another company come out to run a camera. They never removed the ball and instead left a large hole stuffed with a rag so water could escape. I gave videos and photos to Vance Tim (North hills operations manager). He refused to take responsibility for what his employees did and instead demanded i pay for all the shoddy work they did. It costs me 1000s of dollars to fix damage they did to my home. All other contractors were totally baffled by what they did. Vance Tim threatened to sue me if i left a bad review.

What more can you ask of a company than that they respond professionally to criticism? As I said, if they succeed in improving their communication, Mother Modern was one of very few companies working on the weekend. So if you have a real emergency, hopefully Mother Modern can be at your door soon to address your issue. Original Review: I am only evaluating how hard it is to schedule a time slot with Mother Modern if you do not have a wide open schedule. They were difficult to communicate with, bumped our appointment, and showed up at a random time when we were not available. We have jobs, so we ended up hiring a more professional company that could give us a time slot. If you have an emergency and are *very* flexible, will be home all day, and won't mind if your time slot is bumped, then maybe try Mother Modern. A point in their favor is that they were working on the weekend. We had an exterior leak sizable enough that we had to shut off water to the house. Of course we found it at ten 'til 5 on a Saturday. We fully expected not to get an appt until Monday and were prepared to live without water for a few days. But on Sunday morning we were able to get an appt scheduled for 2 pm with Mother Modern. We then got ready for church, but just before leaving we got a call saying they were in the area and could come now. We said we preferred our 2pm appt; it worked with our schedule for the day. He said that another job had been scheduled for 2 and our appt had been canceled. What?! We had stopped contacting potential plumbers because we had made a firm appt with these guys. He said they could come Monday instead but couldn't give a time window, just that they "will call 30 min prior." You can't even tell me if it will be morning or afternoon on a weekday? Clients are just supposed to be available all day on a workday? Very odd. We wanted to try to find a more reliable company, so we said (in case we couldn't make an appt with someone else) that if they had someone available Monday AFTERNOON, to give us 1 hour notice so we could meet the technician. They sent someone first thing Monday MORNING and gave half hour notice. We missed meeting this technician, of course. The company wants your business, but has real communication and scheduling issues. Maybe Mother Modern specializes in the most urgent of emergencies and expects you to be anxiously waiting on property 24/7 for them to show. So if you're desperate or very flexible, maybe this company will work for you. If you have a job, then Mother Modern might be a headache to deal with. I was starting to wonder if maybe this was considered normal for an area like DFW, but no. The vey first plumbing company we called Monday morning was easy to communicate with and kept our appointment.
