Captain Jeff took us on a wild ride to hunt (search) for the mighty alligator. He knew exactly where to go and we saw so many!! His knowledge and experience really shined through and this adventure went beyond our expectations. He also pointed out so many other works of nature and told elaborate stories. We were a family of 5, 3 adult children, did a 9:30am tour on a Saturday morning the end of September 2025. We were fortunate with perfect weather. Captain Jeff was amazing. The headsets were a great way to both hear him and blockout the airboat noise. We saw SO many gators... babies to big 'uns. And birds and plants/trees. There are so many companies to choose from with these tours and I've been on a few but John was by far the best I've ever experienced. John is a local and had TONS of all the birds, vegetation and of course the gators. The day we went was cold, windy and on and off sprinkling. We saw so many gators!! I would ABSOLUTELY recommend John and Marsh Beast. They had headphones to be able to hear him talking and you could talk back to him and ask all the questions you want and he could hear. What a fun adventure! We've been visiting Vero Beach for years and wanted to try something new this year so we signed up for an airboat tour with Marsh Beast. It was easy to buy tickets online, but the address online will not take you to the right spot. Be sure to follow the directions on the website. You will pull into a parking lot where all of the airboat companies take off from and you just wait for yours to show up. Note that there are only porta pots, and it's pretty buggy so bug spray is a good idea to have while you are waiting for your boat. The tour was wonderful! We learned so much about the marsh and the plants and wildlife that inhabit it. And it was fun!! It can get hot in the sun and windy when the boat picks up speed so sunglasses are smart! Definitely an activity I'd recommend for all ages, and Marsh Beast was a great choice! read more

The trip was incredible Capitan John is definitely a great tour guide. He's got a great eye for spotting gators, and incredible knowledge on the area and the wildlife. You'll see baby birds, and break up gator fights if you're out and about on a tour during the mating season. The earlier the better the views are going to be, Trust me on this! Also arrive early because I heard them say every ten minutes later you wait to go out the less gators are out an about due to them going to the bottom of the lake to stay cool in the warmer temperatures. read more

Capt. Jon was the BEST TOUR GUIDE EVER! We were on the water for over an hour and saw about 20 alligators and tons of different types of birds. Captain Jon was great at narrating our entire journey. He was witty, informative and interesting! What a wealth of knowledge he was! I loved that he investigated many little nooks and crannies in search of alligators for us and seemed genuinely excited even though this was probably his millionth tour. My parents, who originally didn't care to go, left shocked by how much fun they had. They loved it! This is a must- do if you're in the area. Don't forget to bring a jacket and sunscreen! Took the 2:50 tour on a February Wednesday afternoon. Our group of 3 adults and 1 toddler very much enjoyed the ride. Captain BP was very knowledgeable/informative about the flora and fauna of Lake Garcia. We all felt safe on the boat with him. We saw at least 20 alligators (honestly we lost count) sunning themselves, Osprey, Herron, egrets, and other marsh birds, and turtles. Highly recommend this tour, however if you take a small child would be a good idea to take your own headphones as the provided headphones did not fit our child and could not be adjusted. Be sure to take a jacket or hoodie, hat and sunscreen this time of year. read more

Charming and very personable. He knew everything about the swamp and the eco system there. I really didn't know what to expect being our first time on an airboat. It wasn't scary at all. This was a truly amazing airboat tour! I wasn't sure what to expect, as I usually go on airboat rides in the Everglades. This is a much smaller area to explore, but honestly, this might have been the best excursion I've ever been on. It was super easy to make reservations with Captain Kenny - we just called him the day before and BOOM!, we were on the list. Luckily, we had a beautiful day for gator hunting! Captain Kenny was a wealth of knowledge about the history of the area, it's wildlife, and the general ecology. We learned about everything from the saw grass to the water hyacinths and everything in between while searching for alligators and seeing tons of birds and turtles. I think we saw 3 species of turtle, 6 or 7 different types of birds, and over 25 gators, from yearlings to big old guys! It was so cool to get up close and personal to the wildlife, all while Kenny explained what we were looking at. He was engaging and friendly, and had lots of interesting information. Best part? We left early and returned late - I think we spent over 1.5 hours on our 1 hour tour. Well worth every (very reasonably priced) penny! read more
