I discovered that even though it is not the cheapest shop on the high street the clothes do not wash well. I also think it has become a younger shop recently with cheap imitations of cat walk clothing - fur coats and spangly dresses can all be found here. Don't get me wrong one can pick up a decent little top for under fifteen quid and their hat/scarves/gloves selections are always really cute. I bought a nice little top the other day for £12.99 and it had flies all over it - perhaps not to everyone's taste but I like the quirkiness of it - probably won't wash well though. In conclusion I want to mention the mens department - my fiance has £100 of vouchers he received from various people for Christmas last year - he has attempted to spend them often but because he's not into bright yellows/pinks, silly prints and really low neck lines he is struggling! That should give you an idea of the men's garments - cheap and nasty in my opinion - the ladies wear is much nicer to look at and in selection but still not the best quality available on the high street.

He needs to learn to let the customer breathe and let his goods do the work for him as there is some great quality stuff on sale here. I got a beautiful suit here for a bargain £75 as a Christmas gift from my girlfriend, whilst I also treated myself to a beautiful winter coat by Remus Oumo which was 100 quid cheaper than the price it was on sale in the castle court branch! My daughter told me that several other pupils in her class were also saying their blazers had fallen apart but as I was the only one to complain it was tough luck as far as this supplier was concerned. I found him very pushy and abrasive and I would not recommend this supplier, in fact when I reiterated my experience to others all I heard was negative comments. Mr Minder goes in for the hard sale but unfortunately doesn't deliver the goods. I actually contacted the suppliers and their attitude was also that I was the only one to complain, I then contacted the school to complain and was told to go to another supplier as they were much better. To say this was frustrating would be an understatement. I told him he should take a course in customer care as he was severely lacking while he was looming over me in a threatening manner and repeating that he didn't know what I wanted and that was certainly the case. This year I will head to another town to purchase my daughters uniform as this supplier does not do supply the goods!

Downstairs it is a bit of a trendy shop that isn't really up my street, but the staff are dead on, friendly and non intrusive. Upstairs it is a bit of a one-stop shop for school clothes. I was awarded honours for Drama when I was at school and went here to buy the special blazer, it was £90 which was a bit of a rip-off, but it was the only place you could buy the blazers so I don't really blame them for marking the prices up. Baillies is a Bangor institution and has been around for over five decades, supplying the young, old and men somewhere in between with suits, trousers, shirts, t-shirts, jackets, coats and knitwear. Despite the prices being of a slightly higher nature, Baillies often has really good discounts (hence why my dad loves it so), and you'll find yourself surprised at the bargains available. And yes, I know you're thinking I'm female (and you'd be perfectly correct), but I've been in Baillies many times before...with my dad of course. If you're a pupil at one of Bangor's schools, you can be sure to find your uniform at Baillies. I can't speak for this aspect of the shop, as I went to school in Belfast, but it seems Robbie (the previous reviewer) has a fair grasp on everything school uniform related, so I'll let you read his for information about that. The Mills found new life by redeveloping the site to create a retail centre. The 'anchor store' is Tynwalk Mills department store featuring high end clothing and home goods. Adjacent stores include a gourmet deli, two cafes, a flower shop, a toy store a weekly farmers' market (Thursday) and more. We had lunch at the Neb Cafe, which was very good. The shops are wheelchair accessible and there is plenty of parking. The setting is lovely, they also have a picnic area and playground, something for everyone!
