Iced Carmel macchiato
Yazmine Q.

I love a good coffee with some delicious pastries and this place never disappoints! One of the best things is that they're open late which makes it the perfect spot when you're craving something sweet.I've never had any issues here my coffee is always made just right, and they have such a great selection of pastries and desserts that it's honestly hard to choose. My personal favorite is the cheesecake! Every time I've gone it's been pretty busy which says a lot about how popular it is. I haven't had the chance to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere yet but that's definitely on my list for my next visit. The only downside is parking since it's on a busy street, but it's worth the hassle!

I've been to this location several times. During the holidays it gets hectic in here. Today, the customers were scarce. I just find it hilarious when the employee says hello you and reciprocate and it appears that they are hiding behind the cakes that are displayed on top. I actually thought she was just welcoming me to the store. I asked for my names sake and she shows me a huge Napoleon with fruits. Well of course it would be entirely disrespectful to me to not purchase a Napoleon pastry. So I did and I also purchased the tiramisu. I ate some tiramisu with some ice cream from @sparkleonstageinc butter pecan. With the southern accent not Pecon! Anyway, it was very tasty and pared with the Butter Pecan ice cream. I enjoyed it immensely. The atmosphere and aesthetic are... You guessed it, a bakery, coffee shop. An area of improvement would be having items in store and not for order. I think it is unfair for me to order 1 regular Napoleon! Still wanting to try the regular but until then.... Inspire more, Yelp more!

Came here with a couple of friends after a huge meal (their desserts are not in the pictures) and everything we got hit the spot! Usually I go to Martha's in Forest Hills but this day we were closer to the one in Bayside so we decided to just dine in there and finish up chatting. The desserts that we got were great! The cookie was definitely chewy and had a decent amount of Nutella because every bite that I took had Nutella in it. The banana cream pie was not too sweet and very fluffy. The peanut butter hot chocolate omg it was soooo good. I love peanut butter with a passion and have never seen anything like it so I had to order it and I fell in love. My friends also enjoyed what they ordered as well! The reason why I took away one star was just because of the service. We did dine in during the later hours and one of my friends was indecisive but when the server took our order, they were sold out of what she wanted and the server looked annoyed when she asked for more time. Then when the server came back, she tried to order something else which was also sold out so she asked for more time again which left the server looking annoyed once more. I understand that it is a little annoying going back to a table multiple times for one order but it just felt awkward for the server to be annoyed when everything my friend wanted was sold out and not her fault. Overall, we had a great experience once that situation was solved!

Haven't been here in awhile so since I was in the neighborhood I decided to stop by and treat myself to a slice of cake. The line was moving quick only 2 people was infront of me so it gave me time to see what I wanted. I wanted to try the caramel cream cake slice. I was not disappointed the cake was good wasn't to sweet, taste great.

I always love the cakes at Martha's! They can get busy during prime time hours, but I really like how they open to late hours. My favorite cakes from there is the strawberry shortcake, berry napoleon, and 7 layer chocolate.

It smells really nice in here. Every time I come there is a long line to order to go. They do have seats if you want to dine in. We come here mostly for the cakes. This is one of the few places we can get a Napoleon cake. I also got a few cup cakes and cake pop which my kids enjoyed.

Absolutely one of the worst experiences I've had at a bakery. We came in as a group of 9 people for dessert after a great dinner. Before we could even look at the cakes, the host with blue hair stopped us and asked if we were dining in. We said yes and were told to wait 15-20 minutes, despite the fact that multiple tables were clearly vacant. When we politely asked if the empty tables could be combined, we were rudely shut down. We even offered a very reasonable compromise--splitting our group between two available tables (3 people at one, 6 at another)--and were still refused. No explanation, no effort, just attitude. The staff was completely unaccommodating, dismissive, and unfriendly. For a place that constantly has lines, the customer service is shockingly bad. We gave up and ordered to-go, and that was another mistake. When we got home, the cake slices were shoved together into one tiny box, destroying them. Icing smeared everywhere, slices stuck together, and nearly impossible to take out without falling apart. These cakes are expensive, and this level of careless packaging is unacceptable and lazy. The taste was the final insult. The so-called "best strawberry shortcake" was terrible. The strawberries were extremely sour, the sponge cake was drenched in simple syrup, and the overall flavor was unpleasant. Nothing special, nothing premium--just poorly made and badly presented cake. Calling this the "best" is laughable. Rude service, zero accommodation, careless packaging, and disgusting cake. Completely overrated and absolutely not worth the money. I will not be returning and would not recommend this place to anyone.

Wide selection

They have a wide selection of options and I was glad to see this included a handful of vegan options - carrot cake, chocolate cake, strawberry cheesecake, and a brownie. I would love to see more vegan options offered in the future - I see they've had cookies in the past. The carrot cake and brownie were delicious.

Napoleon berry cake, crème brûlée cheesecake, German chocolate cake

Definitely get the Napoleon berry cake!! It is light and airy and hits the spot. The berries make it very refreshing and it is not as heavy as the other cakes. I also love that they have staff come to the table to take your order and help with recommendations as the options can be overwhelming.

The service was great despite a very busy weekend. However the 1-star rating is for the below-average famous Berry Napoleon. It's literally a cream pie with two thin layers of Napoleon crisps with few berries. What has happened? Is this the new style because we've ordered numerous Napoleons from Martha's Country in the past decade. See picture below.

VEGAN STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE

We've been to Martha's countless times -- from monthly dessert dates to late-night stops with cousins and friends. They have so many flavors and options that we try something new almost every visit, especially different cheesecakes. But two things we always have to order are the Affogato and the Oreo Cheesecake -- they never disappoint! They also offer vegan options, which is a big plus. The space is warm, cozy, and perfect for all ages. Truly one of those dessert spots you can't walk out of without getting something. Always a sweet experience here!

Ive been here every since a kid! I love this place and theres so many different options! I always get rhe chocolate fudge cake or a napolian! The slices are huge and theyre sooo good. We came around 8pm on a saturday and there was a good handful of people. The line moved super fast and the worker helped me choose which cake and what the difference was. Theres plenty of seating.

The staff is excellent and the cakes are okay but in my opinion not worth the amount of money they charge. They are very expensive.

Ask the Community - Martha's Country Bakery

What kind of gelatin is used in the cakes with gelatin? Also, are the baked goods suitable for vegetarians?

I know they have vegan cookies. My coworker purchases them often. I am not sure about the gelatin it is best to call the bakery and ask.

Hi! Is this place kosher?

Yes, 4 of their branches are kosher

Can I come in and order a cake if I wear gloves and a mask?

How many people can their cakes serve?

Well, I guess it depends all on how big you plan to cut the pieces on the cake. They have different sizes. I suggest you go to their website to check the sizes and see if that will help you.

Does this place make Caribbean rum cake?

Didn't see it

Do they have any Vegan items?

Yes

The restaurant/bakery is big with lot of seating. Great display of cakes, pastries and breads. Street parking is available. Service: the nicest people. Food: all of their cakes, pastries and breads aew amazing. But two of my favorites are: DUKE: definitely a must! Its chocolate cake with I believe a cookie crust inside. It comes in cubes so definitely easier to share. CRUNCHY: this is the very must!! It's chocolate mouse inside with layers of other chocolates. Plus with nuts on it. It's like a ferrero but bigger! Price rating: 7/10. It was not expensive a good cake. I always buy cake here for special occasions or even if I am craving cakes. Visit this, its worth it!

Known for its aesthetic desserts and pastries, I praise the spot for standout items like "The Crunchy" cake, fruit tarts, and vegan croissant, and the service is good. The bakery features an inviting, rustic-modern design with marble tables and large windows. A great place to sit, chat, or relax with a dessert. My wife and I rave about the fresh, high-quality ingredients used in their pastries. Standouts include their pistachio mille-feuille, fresh fruit tarts, and savory turkey-swiss croissants. They also offer an expanding menu of vegan pastries. Most of the patrons like me enjoy the fast, accommodating service, especially from the dedicated baristas. The coffee and espresso drinks earn good marks for me, with favorites like the caramel macchiato and Nutella hot chocolate. A really good place to enjoy sweets and relax.

They also have a few bubble tea and fruitade options. Prices are fair and they have several combo meals with even better prices. We tried their Combo3 B for $11, just under $12 with tax. Came with a mozzarella mix corn dog with panko breading. Half the dog was mozzarella and the other half had the hot dog. They have other breading toppings, with some being an additional $1.50. We added ketchup and mustard. Also came with two filled donuts, which we went with one Nutella and one strawberry cream cheese. You have option to put cinnamon or white sugar and we went with cinnamon sugar. All made to order and wow, sooo good! Corndog had a good crunch with each bite, good flavor. And the cheese pull, impressive! The donuts were pillowy, soft, light, and filled very well with each flavor. Not overly sweet, but just enough. Will be returning to try other menu items. Stepping inside of this magnificent dessert emporium I became perplexed by the variety of desserts and pastries that were very desirable and readily available. In the words of Vinnie Barbarino, I'm so confused (IYKYK). It's a different setup that causes the line to move faster than it used to, I see the improvement. The ordering is done in one place and cashing out is next to it, in the same area. You still walk in and head straight to the display cases where you pick you pleasure. I did not pick my names sake only because it slipped my mind due to me being focused on breakfast. No, I don't eat cakes for breakfast. I picked up a couple croissants, apple turnover, a couple of cheese Danishes, and an almond croissant. Service was prompt and the employees were attentive as well as pleasant. I like how they approach the counter and inquire about your status versus staring at you letting you try to figure out if someone is going to help you or not. At the check out, there's the coffee station or tea. I ordered 2 French Vanilla coffees, to say the least the French vanilla flavor seemed distant to none. On the second trip it was exact same coffee request with the same results. An improvement needed is to have different sweetners for the coffee. Not everyone wants white sugar or sweet n low. Since the vanilla syrup is not sweet enough, another liquid sweetener can work. Nonetheless this was such a sweet experience! Inspire more, Yelp more!

For one, I think they strategically set up shops in areas far out in Queens that are not easily accessible or overrun by the masses--this can easily bring down a business' quality. We ordered a variety of things to try, including their range of char siu baos, like the pineapple bun, the snow crust, and the regular baked bun. Definitely a step up above what Mei Lai Wah is now, with the chunky cuts of meat, but way too sweet, even with the regular version. Highly suggest just sticking with the regular unless you're really curious about the pineapple or snow crust, which really just adds a layer of sugar. My mom spotted their sachima and quickly snatched one up. They sell a small selection of Southern Chinese and Hong Kong baked goods and pastries, but don't expect the variety of a Chinese bakery. Prices are a bit steep, and I don't know if it varies by location since this location is in a higher-cost area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here if I'm craving a good char siu bao - most Chinese bakeries do them well, just a matter of finding them. Most people who came in when we were there seem to buy them in boxes so either they're a hit at parties/events or some households really love them.
