Predictably, this infuriated the judge, as it would have without regard to whether a prosecutor or defense lawyer had accepted a case and then shown complete disregard for the court's schedule. This initial battle, which "we" lost although I was no part of it, inescapably reflected on me throughout the case. From then on embittered (frequently telling me the judge was unfairly against her), Becker would miss appointments - never making them up, but simply deducting the time from case preparation - change defense strategies without explanation, arrive unprepared for appointments having failed to do promised research , make zero investigatory use of a fully-paid for investigator (eventually, in a dispute over her failure to use the investigator, Becker fired the her) and break her word (example: she supposedly submitted a motion on the key issue in the case - I don't know if she did or did not - promising to provide me a copy; this was important because one can only appeal if the issue has been first brought to the trial court's attention). Becker came to trial with a half-baked strategy to use the prosecution's own expert witness against them. She executed this "audacious" strategy with the lack of finesse of a 1st year law student in her first trial practice class. Predictably, this shambles exploded in her face. (In pre-trial proceedings, the court asked Becker about this "strategy" since the judge was unfamiliar with the existence of it; once Becker explained it, the judge was visibly puzzled.) Her death grip firmly tightened on this oddball approach, at trial Becker was left with only a "cross-examination" defense where, by erudition and rhetoric (read, 'lack thereof'), she would presently triumph. Didn't happen. As she sat down following her examination of the first prosecution "witness" (who actually hadn't witnessed anything), I asked, "you do know that cross examination is more than merely reinforcing the prosecution's key points?" Her answer was, "don't be so negative." (I was not indulging in negativity, but rather seeking to discover if she knew enough to continue "defending" me.) Her ineffective closing argument amounted to a suggestion that the jury acquit since her client had been having "a bad day." As soon as she got me convicted, she told me she had already submitted the required Notice of Appeal (court mittimus shows no record that she ever did) and promised to brief the appeal. More broken promises: at her next appearance, she appeared by phone asking permission to withdraw.

DO NOT HIRE COBEA BECKER as your defense in a child custody case! Ms Becker had handled my…read moredaughters case in the past, she does bare minimum work, she will have you pay for all kinds of court appointed therapist, family investigators, CFI's, and the like. while you are thinking this will help in your case because she tells you it will all the while you are spending thousands of dollars in hopes this will show the truth, only to realize that she would allow the petitioner's CFI who is connected to the petitioner's law firm by means of being the father of the attorney heading the Colorado Spring's Office, who is the petitioner's attorney's boss. You knew this and yet you allowed this form of Nepotism, and very much a conflict of interest to the respondent, to go on! This is just one example and many more that can be pointed out. What is most disappointing in this case is that you could have easily placed the petitioner on the stand and then obtain this petitioner's actions of perjury. But your actions Ms Becker as shown that you are just a attorney that will walk your client on the path with the greatest financial drain, with the least resolved ending for them! Ms Becker your lack of fiduciary duty and due diligence is VERY concerning and should be viewed.

I worked with Mr. Tameler for 10 months from that first appointment until the ending of my case. I spent a great deal of time working with him by phone, in person appointments, and emails regarding legal matters. Mr. Karl Tameler is highly professional and dedicated to his cases. He has several cases, some which over lap and require his attention to be given as needed, but he always returned my calls or emails with reasonable expectations. Mr. Tameler has a strong and solid understanding of law and a good reputation with staff in the court system in Pueblo County. He is also very fair in his pricing. I was given a flat fee, but felt that the time it took for my case due to Covid shut down of the Court House and the back log that followed as cases fell behind, he could have asked for more. I am not familar with criminal cases and was completely unprepared for when one arrises, but Mr. Tameler was very good at explaining to me each stage of the case. I highly recommend Mr. Tameler if you want a compentent and experienced criminal lawyer.

Karl requested a flat fee payment and explained that the he could help resolve the matter relating to cracking the plastic on someones taillight in a carls jr parking lot - he said that the offer was unfair and that he could get a better one that didn't involve 24 hours community service - On the day of the trail he arrived 3 minutes prior leaving no time to review the case -he was unfamiliar with the case(all case information had been forwarded/provided) and apparently had not contacted the DA yet to negotiate any offer. He relied on my old copy of the original offer i brought to court and had me sign that and admit to guilt even though in his office he said it shouldn't go this way.Bottom line He will tell you what you want to here for money. I will never trust this man again - could not keep his word.

The disc injuries caused severe debilitating pain and resulted in permanent impairment and pretty significant loss of function. I was having trouble getting workers comp insurance to approve MRI's to properly diagnosis my injuries which initially were labeled as "strains and sprains" with medications and physical therapy the only treatment I contacted Heuser & Heuser in Colorado Springs to help me get the medical care and treatment I needed. Heuser & Heuser assigned my case to Workers Compensation Attorney Matthew J. Striegel of Striegel Law, LLC out of Pueblo. Matt has been a successful and proficient Workers Compensation Attorney for many years, helping many clients get the medical care and treatment they need and reasonable and fair settlements. From the beginning, Matt and his team, Laura and Toni, were amazing and treated me like family and helped me navigate the complexities of the workers comp system and helped me resolve many issues along the way. The process was lengthy as I had multiple areas of injury to properly diagnose and treat. From start to finish my case took almost 2 1/2 years to complete and Matt and his team went above and beyond the entire journey. Earlier this month we were able to reach a very reasonable settlement, the largest settlement that has been reached with the high profile law firm we were up against. But more importantly to me, my debilitating pain as of the writing of this review, is much, much more manageable than it was for over 2 years. I am very grateful for this especially, to be almost pain free and able to carry out my normal daily activity without debilitating pain ~ managing our off grid homestead, our chicken and quail farm and even our turkeys. Thanks to Matt and his team, I was able to obtain the proper medical diagnostic tests and treatment to get me where I can function without significant and debilitating pain. To me, this is of more value than the awesome settlement that we reached earlier this month. Throughout the course of this journey, Matt, Laura and Toni all played vital roles in helping me overcome many obstacles, hurdles and complications of my particular case and what I discovered to be an arbitrary, capricious and very difficult worker's compensation system and the insurance company. Matt, Laura and Toni have been like family throughout this entire process and I'm thankful and grateful that GOD led me to them to endure and overcome this battle together with this team, and indeed it has been a battle! Thank you Matt, thank you Laura and thank you Toni. You make an amazing team and this calling that GOD has appointed you to Matt, makes a world of difference in the lives of those you serve and I have become one of many! Frank James Licher, IV

A coworker referred me to Matt the morning after my accident and I called him immediately, which was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Right away Matt began working my case and advising me even before I signed any paperwork. With Matt, I not only got an exceptionally talented attorney, I also got a fighter, negotiator, advocate, supporter, sympathizer and a friend. There are truly no words strong enough to express my gratitude. After an ordinary trip to the grocery store, I was stopped at a red light and hit by a drunk driver that totaled my new car and left me with multiple injuries. My injuries appeared subtle at first and because of misdiagnoses and medical delays it took almost three years for me to reach maximum medical improvement. Despite the long process, Matt never suggested or pressured me to settle my case and solely focused on my medical recovery while he and his team continually collected all the documentation and paperwork needed to build my case. I went through two surgeries, five rounds of physical therapy, multiple injections and alternative treatments as well as suffering from a concussion, PTSD and chronic pain. I was not always the easiest client but throughout this painful journey Matt was available to address my questions or concerns 24/7, his support, patience, calm demeanor and gentle encouragement kept me moving forward when at times I wanted to give up. Once I achieved maximum medical improvement, Matt had already built a strong case and was able to quickly reach resolution while avoiding litigation. He worked with the insurance companys to get me the maximum financial settlement for my case and also negotiated with my health care company to reduce my lien despite their initial firm refusal. My accident cost me around $13,000 out of pocket and Matt was able to get me reimbursed for all my expenses as well as a very sizable sum for pain and suffering that I was able to use as a down payment for a new home. I am grateful for the financial recovery of my case but I'm equally thankful and relieved that my injuries have healed, my PTSD and chronic pain have subsided, and I know I wouldn't have achieved this without Matt's focus on my recovery and legal expertise handling my case. Going through an accident is financially, physically and emotionally draining but having an attorney you trust and who makes your physical, emotional and financial recovery their top priority is priceless. For me, Matt Striegel was truly a Godsend, he's an exceptional attorney and a man of integrity, kindness and compassion.
