He kept his head down and flew under the radar and was diagnosed with high functioning ASD in 9th grade. The lack of common sense is just absurd. As an example, in a subzero winter day, the kids were FORCED to eat OUTSIDE due to their COVID policy. The kids were freezing and when they tried to come back into the building to warm up, the doors were intentionally locked. When they found an open door, the teacher kicked them out. A complaint with the State of Colorado for child neglect and abuse was filed. I think Stanley used to be great but not anymore. I'm sure the recent positive reviews are from parents that fit the woke bill.

During the enrollment process she checked in and updated me frequently. At registration completion they had everything organized and the entire staff was helpful, friendly and welcoming. Another reason I was interested in this school is the class sizes, they are small allowing note attention to my childs learning with the teachers not having to focus on 16 students at a time. My son loses interest quickly if he isnt involved or doesnt feel included so I look forward to the advancements he will make with his teacher and 8-11 fellow classmates. Im grateful to be apart of this community so far and having my son in a school I feel comfortable with leaving him at during the day was my main priority. In my opinion, it was a great fit for him after having had multiple life changes over the previous few years. (divorce, multiple moves, so on) The small class sizes here allow teachers to gain a perspective on students that a typical classroom, quite simply, probably wouldn't allow. I thoroughly appreciated the insights teachers provided during P/T conferences. They gave not only academic but social insights into my son's life that I would not have otherwise had. (Don't tell him I said that ) Having said all of that, he decided to go to elsewhere for his high school years. Whether or not it's a good decision for him remains to be seen. In any case, I would urge parents (and their students!) to consider Collegiate Academy. As parents we must help our kids decide what is best for them at a given time. The beauty of Jeffco is this ability to have options. We haven't had this option presented so cleanly to us in any other school system. Please check them out.

When I was first looking into schools for my bright kiddo, I knew I wanted something non-standard. That would teach him about life and goodness and beauty just as much as numbers and geography. But I also wanted to make sure that, if at some point we wanted to switch to a traditional public school, that my son would still flourish. I was really impressed with their curriculum: music, dance, Art time, free play, etc. The teachers were engaging, kind and yet enforcing the rules and structure which is absolutely a necessary component for toddlers. When we came back to Cali to our regular pre-school, our teachers commented that they saw such a positive change in our son's behavior and also a progress with his numbers, letters, etc. It'd be a no brainer if we lived in Denver for us to enroll our son full time. Highly recommended!
