The Voodoo Shrimp & Grits (bacon-wrapped jalapeño and cream cheese stuffed-shrimp tossed in sweet chili glaze, served with cheddar grits) are an interesting take on the traditional Louisiana dish. I had never had corn mixed in with my grits before but it was a nice addition. The dish is large enough to split, especially when you add the boudin and Beignet Bites for a full meal. The Seafood Poboy with a choice of boom boom shrimp, fried shrimp or fried catfish with tomato, lettuce, pickles, mayo, poboy bread is another great option.

I started setting up and parents with their children started walking in. I didn't realize that I had more parents that were going to stay as opposed to dropping. I totally understand parents wanting to stay with their their child at a birthday lunch that was only gonna last two hours. Here's where the problem comes in. My sister and her family decided that they wanted to table by themselves instead of sitting with the kids. The man that was helping us started saying how it would be a problem. My sister informed him that of course they will be paying and tipping, but they just wanted a different table. I've never been a waitress so I'm not sure how tips and everything goes. But he goes on to tell her that if he sits her family in that area that my daughter's party was in that it was somehow messed with the servers tips or tables my sister goes on to tell him that we are paying customers and we will be tipping, but he made a big deal out of it. I see this is going to be a bigger problem than I assumed. I walked over to the man and I for any questions inconvenience, and then he again proceeds to complain about the seating, the servers, etc.. I felt taken aback, because instead of just saying ma'am it's OK he proceeds to vent to me about the situation. By this time I'm completely annoyed on the other hand our waitress did a phenomenal job. I just really would've wished. I would've gotten a man's name that was working the door that day. My question is.... What would've happened if I didn't call ahead and we ALL walked in together. Would the attitude still have been the same?? I think not because I have been out to dinner with parties bigger than the one we had and there was not a problem at the other restaurants.
