I always see this place when I am in area. I decided to stop and get a hamburger and tater totes. I ordered a turkey burger with half tater tots and pinions rings . It was made fresh to order. Everything had flavor and the burger meat was tender. Service and atmosphere was cool. Plenty of seating outside in rear of restaurant and this place been open since 1959.

A local burger institution that always delivers. Home of the "combo" where you get a split hot dog in addition on your burger! A 50/50 fries and onion rings is also never a bad decision. Staff is super friendly and they accept card now! Seating is minimal to some spots in the back and a few counter/bar seats.

    Cozy lil joint.

It is indeed a "stand" although there are a handful of counter stools around the side. But mostly this is a takeout spot. The "Combo" is a thick burger with all the fixings and a cut and split hot dog on top. Here's a hot tip: just order a hot dog. Or two hot dogs. The burger is nice and thick but not well-seasoned. On the other hand, the hot dog is huge and has a ton of rich meaty flavor. We also tried the 50/50 (onion rings and fries) and they were well-seasoned and very nice. But I would try the chili fries next time. Everything was cooked to order and the workers were delightful. Get the outstanding hot dogs. Well worth a visit.

Oh Marty's where have you been all my life? I've literally lived in LA my entire life and never stopped into Marty's before today. Of course, Sundays there's tons of street parking and no meters to pay. We were warmly greeted and placed our order at the window. We had the cheeseburger, hot dog, and hamburger + the 50/50-onion rings and fries. Service was quick and the food was amazing. We sat on the back patio under an umbrella. The burgers were perfectly cooked and messy-just the way I like 'em! The hot dog was perfect too. I had to fight my husband for the last onion ring-they were that good. Even Murphy the Doodle enjoyed half a French fry. We are definitely becoming regulars!!

Still not brave enough to even try the combo (hamburger and hot dog together) , but the burger was good enough and hit the spot.

The combo hamburger hot dog sandwich is ok, but the chili fries were divine. I don't think I'll ever have fries like that again. The hot dog overpowers the beef patty, so I wish it was a double patty burger. The mayonnaise strangely works with the salty hot dog. The sandwich was not my favorite. The chili fries were a different story. I wish I had known I would have the best fries of my life today so I could've finished that first. The crisp was perfectly uniform for every fry, and it was flaky on the inside. The chili was ok, but I would've had a meal with only fries if I had known. Parking is street only I think, and luckily the machines were ripped out today. There's a small lot in the back, but I feel it's for employees. Outdoor dining only, and there were some flies interested in eating for free. Accepts credit cards

Old and rustic, I get why they're a beloved neighborhood hamburger stand - which, generally speaking, are a dying breed these days. Menu is just innovative enough in the old school way - add a hot dog or pastrami to your burger, get a pile of fries, maybe a second patty if you're particularly hungry. Can't say it's fancy or even particularly memorable, but it's a solid meal. Add in a super friendly staff and juuuust a bit of counter seating, all outdoor, for vibes, and something about it hits right, at least for a certain subset of customers; it's very obvious they have regulars as I was eating my meal.

This is one of those spots I always recommend when friends or family are visiting from out of town and want a quick, classic LA bite. It's simple, nostalgic, and never lets me down. Roses:Never disappoints- my go to order is chili cheese fries with a Coke (elite combo)The staff is super friendly and somehow always remembers my orderLove the back patio seating when the weather's nice Thorns:I wish they were open later for dinner or late-night cravings, or had a delivery option(Although... my waistline is probably grateful they don't ) Overall, if you're looking for the perfect casual stop that hits every time, Marty's is for you!

Marty's Hamburger Stand never disappoints. The bacon cheeseburger is always perfect, and the chili cheese fries hit every single time. Everything comes out hot, flavorful, and exactly the way you want it. The cooks are always super friendly too, which makes the whole experience even better. This spot is a true classic and always worth the stop!

What I Ordered: -The Combo with Chili and Cheese -Chili Cheese Fries Marty's is an institution in West LA. They're famous for the combo, which is a burger and hot dog combined in one bun. I had The Combo last time, and it was pretty good. I felt like it was a bit too much meat, and I'm a carnivore through and through. This time, I decided to give it another try, but with chili instead, and I loved it! The chili is a bit salty here, but it's pretty good chili; I'm not gonna lie. I love The Hat, and that's my go-to spot in SGV, as I live in that area. The chili at The Hat is terrible. The chili at Marty's is pretty good. I also got an order of chili cheese fries for my son, but he didn't want them. Get inside Daddy's belly! I didn't have it until a few hours later, but it was still delicious. I love taking those spicy peppers and squeezing all those spicy juices on top of the chili cheese fries, and I add some ketchup as well, and I'm in Heaven. I wish Marty's was open earlier and closed later. The guy there is telling me that they got a banging breakfast burrito, but they open a little too late for me to get breakfast before work. Closing at 4 pm on the weekend is pretty ludicrous, I'm not going to lie. At least close at 6 or 7 pm, but 4 pm before dinner time makes literally no sense to me. I guess they do enough business in the day.

This is just a solid establishment. There's no real secrets here at least with the hotdog, which is what I ordered and drove across town to try out. It's a regular Vienna beef hotdog on what looks like a store-bought bun. I'm going to take a guess and say that the chili is maybe store-bought. Maybe they are making their own I don't know. It seems basic. There's no grated cheese. They just put a big slice of cheese directly on the perfectly charred hotdog and then pour hot chili on top of it along with the mustard. I had a little more mustard on top to my liking and it tastes exactly like what you expect a chili cheese dog to taste like. Exactly. It's just a good tasting hot dog. But I don't think they're doing anything special except giving great service in a local favorite establishment that has remained consistent since 1959. The vibe here is great. Very Westside vibe. I liked sitting on the back patio listening to all the very west side local conversations from people who have obviously come here every weekend forever. Even though there's no secrets to their ingredients I think what does it justice is that they stay busy so everything is coming fast meaning it's fresh. It's just fresh. I think I've actually been here before when I lived on the west side and just forgot about Marty's. It seemed very familiar to me but it's been here forever and maybe I was just enjoying being around nice Angelenos on a Saturday.

Nostalgic hamburger & hot dog stand. Counter seats or patio out back. They do one thing and do it right

4++ Small no-frills hamburger stand located on the west side that's been here for a very, very, very long time. The guys here have always been super friendly every time I've been here. Has an old-school feel to it, like places you find on the East Coast. In addition to hamburgers, they have some other comfort, food classics like hotdogs and other types of sandwiches etc. I started coming here because it was pretty close to one of the places I worked at in Century City. On my last trip, I got a fire dog, which was delicious. The way they grill up the hotdog and bring out some more of the flavor with all the toppings is great. I also really love their tater tots. Fresh and crispy. i've always been able to find parking close by on the street or around the corner closer to the neighborhood homes.

    The combo. Surprisingly tasty.

A lot of the hot dog vendors have their PayPal/Venmo QR codes taped onto their cart. You can't tell the difference between the TJ dogs sold here and the ones in Tijuana. I've personally never gotten sick after eating these. Service is quick, there may be a bit of a language barrier, but not enough to prevent your purchase of a hot tasty TJ dog.

Horrible customer service by the girl cashier!…read more I went there this past weekend with my kid. We come from Murrieta to LA to do shopping at least once a month, and little Tokyo is one of our first stops. The cashier has always been extremely nice and helpful. This time, when the guy cashier was about to help me, some girl cashier interrupted and took over. I thought it was a bit rude, but ok. She goes on to help me and I pay. Soon she gives me my drink. I ordered pink and she gives me a blue. I'm like, I said, PINK. She then says they don't have any with a serious face. The guy jumps in and tells me It's not ready and that I could wait, but he assured me my daughter will like it, so I said OK! (she did end up liking it) A few min later.. I get called for my order. They give me 1 hot dog instead of the 2 I ordered. Apparently, the young Asian girl cashier messed up again. I tell her I ordered two, and she's looking at me confused. She says she only charged for one. I pay and the guy the guy apologizes for it and says it'll be ready in 5. My kid is halfway done at this point and I'm still waiting for my order. I noticed the girl starts making it this time, and when it comes out it's smaller than usual. The WHOLE time this girl looks like she could care less about her job. At this point, I'm like regretting coming here and regretting not having lunch in a proper restaurant instead. I then go to the line to get validation and they have me waiting. It wasn't until a group of kids walked in that the girl quickly came out from the back (I'm sure they have cameras at the back). Anyway, I don't know if she is just new, having a bad day, or even tired of her job. But regardless, it shouldn't be taken on paying customers. This is why I give this place a 2 star. Corndogs were really good though, no issues there!
