This is my second time going here and the #5 did not disappoint. This is like a cafeteria style spot. That #5 creamy chicken broth with pork chashu , tempura flakes and some boil eggs is Bussin!. I like my number 5 spicy so i hit it with the shichimi. The tempura is great I only wish the consistency of the batter stayed the same with the crab tempura. The service is amazing even gave us this stamp coupon which was amazing. Will mos def come back since this spot are my daughters to go ramen spot.

Comfort food at the Glendale Galleria, yes please! Nikutama has the classic udon noodles and dashi broth with beef and a soft boiled egg. So hearty and filling, I couldn't finish the large bowl. Try their refreshing juices and ask for a sample, you'll love it and order a drink no doubt. Don't be intimidated by the long lines. It goes by fast. The noodles are weighed by a scale to ensure consistency in their portions. Try their toppings and tempura for added crunch to your meal. Restaurant could have been a little more tidy. We had to flag someone down to clean our table but it was the end of the day on a busy day over the holiday so not a biggie. Didn't take away from the delicious meal.

Came here for dinner and overall had a solid experience. They had a decent amount of tables and inside was clean. Service was fast and efficient, and the servers were friendly and straight to the point. Toward the end of our meal it got a bit hectic as more people came in, and the staff started scrambling to check which tables were finished, but it was understandable given the crowd. Ordering is simple: you walk down the line, tell the server which noodle combo you want, and then pick up your own tempura at the end. Our go-to order is the Kitsune udon with an egg, and we always grab a few different tempuras to try. Always comforting and satisfying!

The udon noodles are so delicious ! We tried these in Hawaii and was so glad to find out there is a few spots out here in LA. Also the tempura are fire ! Must try spot .

Ambiance: this Marugame Udon store is located near one entrance of galleria mall, it could get very packed during rush hours Service: friendly and patient with requests, although it might take a while to place the order when they ran out of bowls Food: standard udon menu with seasonal items CREAMY BROTH - **** Tonkotsu style creamy chicken broth, topped with juicy pork chashu, and a flavorful seasoned egg, tasty with flakes and green onions, chewy noodles and bold flavor broth, recommend Price: generous portions and affordable prices, expect $15~$20 for a very fulfilling bite

Tomatama Curry Udon (large)

I haven't had Marugame in a hot minute, but this location is pretty good and is conveniently the closest one to me. We went yesterday (Saturday) around 1ish, and it was pretty busy (we had to wait in a short line but it moves fast; I have been here before on a random Sunday afternoon when it wasn't a peak meal hour, and there was no line then). All the workers were moving around efficiently to make the food, clean off tables, and count how many people were coming in/leaving to make sure everyone got a seat. My go-to is usually the nikutama udon, but we wanted to try the new limited Tomatama Curry Udon (tomato + egg mixed in curry sauce with chicken katsu on top), so my husband and I ordered a large one to share. The katsu was freshly sliced in front of us, and it was the best part of the whole dish (to me) other than the fresh chewy udon noodles. The sauce was not too strong in curry flavor (just a nice aftertaste of curry to complement the tomato and egg), and it was rich and thick enough to stay on the noodles as you ate. My husband loved the dish so much, he said he could have eaten the whole bowl by himself and wants to go back again just for the Tomatama. I personally love the nikutama one more (so I will probably order that next time), but the Tomatama is solid if you are curious and want to try it before they take it off the menu.

Had a craving for udon and came across this Marugame in LA. Thought I would compare it with the one in SF. Well, at first glance they both look very similar. Although the dining area is much smaller here. Due to lack of staff, the dining area and bathroom are pretty messy. Used paper napkins are littered throughout the floor and bathroom. However, the food was very good. The portion size was also very good. In fact, the taste and portion size is better than the SF location! The kitchen staff was very friendly as well. Overall, I would come back. Just wish they would keep the place cleaner.

Had a few issues coming to eat here with some friends the other day. So we LOVE Marugame udon. The noodles are gummy, slippery, and deliciously chewy with a yummy base of broth. We got the most popular dish (Nikutama) and I got it hot, while my friends got it cold. The cold version is refreshing and is perfect for a hot sunny day. We waited for a long while at the counter before being asked on what we would like. It was so long it caused a big crowd to form behind us while we were standing there and waiting. Next, we were disappointed that the kitchen ran out of green onions for the day. That ingredient being out made our dish feel like it was missing that crunch and vitality green onions would usually give to the dish. Finding a table was easy for us and we sat next to the water station near the utensils area. A couple of people asked to get it changed because the water machine was out. I saw them ask a lady, who then asked the dishwasher guy to change it. However, we got grossed us out while waiting for the water get replaced. The water gallon was pulled out by the guy and while we waited, we saw the water dispenser tube was PLACED ON THE FLOOR! We were shocked because that tube is literally what goes inside of the water gallon.. and so we didn't want to drink water anymore after seeing that. Lastly, the broth was also abnormally stronger than usual for all of us. It was dark brown when it should normally be a lighter brown. We soon felt headaches after eating for a while. It felt like the broth concentrate wasn't right and it tasted like the sodium levels felt so high idk.. We pulled through and immediately went to our cars to drink from our reusable water bottles. Meat, egg, and noodles were delicious but there issues made our experience here not the best.

Absolutely amazing! Loved the Nikutama Curry!!!!

Curry nikutama

Came here for udon just for a simple meal and it was just what we needed! It's located in the galleria and near the foodcourt! We had the curry nikutama and the kake! The kake was lighter and the curry nikutama was heavier so it balanced pretty well! But maybe next time I'll just get the regular nikutama because the curry made it especially heavier! Food was solid and workers were friendly and nice!

I really enjoyed eating at this restaurant. It's a really nice pick-your-own food type of restaurant. You pick your type of food at the front of the line and watch the really nice workers make it in front of you. You then get to pick your tempura, which is an extra charge, but definitely worth it! This place is nice if you're looking for yummy udon. I got the tonkatsu udon--super flavorful!

My husband and I came here for the first time Friday night. The interior is beautifully decorated,…read morequaint and charming with an overall calming feel. It's super clean but without feeling steril. When we sat down, we noticed a nice woman with her mom who was celebrating her 95th birthday and we sat next to them. They were both very sweet and mentioned the items they got and how good everything was. We basically mirrored their dishes and were not disappointed by our choices. Generally, when you're at a Thai restaurant, you can't go wrong when you take advantage of suggestions given to you by two beautiful Thai people. We started off with an appetizer called "Gold Rush" which are 6 crispy, yet chewy wontons that are cooked until golden and then the dipping sauce was a tangy soy vinaigrette which I initially wished had not been taken away with our plates when we were done but any concern I had was soon forgotten when the other dishes came out because everything was so well seasoned that I never once thought, "I wish I still had some of that dipping sauce". We ordered the Laab Chicken which I always crave because so many Thai restaurants don't serve it. But Spice Season offers it and that might have been my favorite dish. I always order it without the rice powder because I don't like the powdery ground rice. I think it's a distraction from everything else in the dish. Our server didn't blink an eye when I asked that it not be included. Next, we ordered the Pad Thai. It was delicious. The noodles are thinner rice noodles (like angel hair) than what I have typically experienced (more like the size of linguini) but I loved the dish overall, would not change a thing and will definitely order it again. Blazing Basil Beef was the next dish that came out. The beef was super tender that night but it did not heat up well the next day. It got tough, even though I heated it up using a very low microwave power setting. This was in no way a reflection on how they cooked this dish because it was perfect when it came out. I will try the Heaven Scent next time or Spice Season Steak in lieu of Blazing Basil but that is not to say I would never order it again - far from it - but we are excited to try other dishes as I have noted further below. Rounded everything out with the Pineapple Fried Rice which I crave just as much as Laab but I'm usually nervous to try it because so many times the rice doesn't have any flavor, or not enough pineapple juice but not the case here! It was delicious! D'oh! I forgot to mention the Matcha Cheesecake which was heavenly. It took me several days to finish that off and unlike the Blazing Basil, it held up fantastically in the fridge for the next few days which is how long it took me to finish it off. Honestly, everything we tried was incredibly fresh, bursting with different flavors and cooked the way we enjoy our Thai food. We were not rushed, and the person who took our order said that we had ordered plenty of food which I appreciated - we do tend to over-order but that's because we eat the leftovers but I thought it was nice that she gave me the "that's probably enough" sign. Last thing I will mention just to help others on the spicy scale, we love our Thai food spicy. I read some reviews where people said the food was not spicy enough. We told our server that we like spicy and that we would leave it up to her - she said that everything would be a 4 out of 5 on the spice scale and while it was perfect for me, my husband thought it was just a tad too spicy but I think he's just out of practice. ;) We will probably go with 3 out of 5 next time, unless I'm alone. Then I would go back to 4 on the spice scale! I'm excited to try the Papaya Salad, Lime Steak Salad, Tom-Yum Fried Rice, Heaven Scent, and Lemongrass Soup. They definitely have a wide variety of food offerings, including things I've never heard of or seen. Something for everyone!

Let's start with the Shrimp Ceviche. It was so outrageously fresh, vibrant, and delicious that I immediately ordered a second plate. A SECOND PLATE. And trust me, that never happens. Ever. This ceviche didn't just exceed expectations--it reset them completely. Then came the crispy dumplings. Golden, perfectly crisp, and paired with a dipping sauce so good I was tempted to ask for a bowl of it to take home. Absolute perfection. And the Asian Rice Noodle Salad? I honestly found myself closing my eyes between bites just so I could fully appreciate every flavor, texture, and fresh herb dancing around in that bowl. Our server described it as a deconstructed spring roll, and that description doesn't even begin to do it justice. The basil. The crunch. The brightness. The balance. OH. MY. GOODNESS. If you dine here, ordering all three of these dishes isn't a recommendation--it's a requirement. The only tragic part of this experience is that we don't live here.
