Next, I took the Wetland Meadow Ramble until I reached the double bridge and enjoyed views of the stream. The entire hike took less than an hour, making it a quick adventure. Six miles of asphalt trail surround Lake Galena. It is handicapped friendly. Plenty of benches along the path to sit and watch the water activities. We will be back later in the season to check out the wooded trails. We took a short walk then drove around to the other side where there were pavilions and a nature center whcih I will discuss in a separate review. From our brief visit, this Doylestown park has a lot to offer. Fishing, boating, picnicking, birdwatching and more. We will be back for sure to explore more.

Those are crucial considering how long the Delaware Raritan Canal Trail is, unless you bring your own water or don't mind finding a tree and some leaves in the woods to use as a toilet.

We ended up parking on the side of the road near the visitors center. There are bathrooms, store, and native nursery plants for sale at the visitor center. Everyone was so nice and helpful with our first visit here. They provide a map of a variety of trails which are rated easy, moderate, and hard. I opted for the moderate trail which had some inclined and stairs. The Virginia blue bells were in full bloom. The trails were mostly shaded making it a comfortable hike. We also brought a picnic basket for lunch. There was a table at the visitor center and more tables at the entrance of the preserve if you wanted to have more seating.

I visited Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve this past Saturday when I was exploring New Hope for…read morethe day. It's a nature preserve and botanical garden with a lot of grounds to explore. It was busy on a warm Saturday afternoon, but there was plenty of parking on the road leading up to the Visitor Center. Then, after you've purchased your admission, you can wander their 12 or so trails that wind through five miles of the grounds. The highlights of my visit were the trails that ran along the creek, the stone bridge, and the new pond. In summer, it was a bit too hot for the wildflowers (I bet spring is incredible here), but it was green and wooded and beautiful. I spent a couple of hours exploring the grounds, and it was a great way/place to stretch my legs and take a break from town! If you like a trail, Bowman's Hill is a great place for that just minutes from the center of New Hope.

Many of the trails are shaded which was perfect for this mid 90s day, and the park was not crowded at Most people had masks down but pulled back up as others were nearby, we did likewise. I'm going to explore more of this overlooked gem, and I think a picnic on the lake when temps moderate. Towards the back of the one lake is a few well positioned benches( others scattered around the lake too) which we found perfect for quiet conversation and butterfly watching. I also look forward to returning in other seasons as was suggested by another review.

This was my first time on the PA side. It was a nice change but the trail is definitely not as well…read morekept as the Jersey side. The path is a little rougher, but still smooth and easily ridable on any bicycle. What I didn't like was the overgrown vegetation sticking out into the trail. I will ride it again just to change up my regular routes.
