My in laws took us there to show the masjid. We went in between prayers so it was practically empty. I had my 2 year old with me and I saw signs for mothers with young children to go up the stairs to mother's room. When I reached the top of the stairs, I see a group of men doing what seems to be a halaqah on the landing the stairs take us to. I was uncomfortable entering this space so I walked back down to the regular sister's area. I also kept trying to go to the restroom to change my son's diaper but it was closed the whole time I was there, so I texted my husband and he offered to change my son in the men's restroom. When we tried to do a handoff through the doors dividing the men and women's area, an older man who spoke Urdu and claimed to be the security guard starting yelling at me asking what I'm doing. He backed off a little bit when he saw my husband but we both asked him why he was yelling at me and in front of the children. He was upset I was letting my 2 year old come into the men's area and we tried to explain how the mother's area is blocked by men and how as the security guard, he should do something about that. He smiled and responded calmly that what the men are doing upstairs is fine. I immediately understood the kind of "man" I was speaking to and didn't want to waste my time further in this masjid so I left and my family all followed. many of the people who witnessed this were SUPER embarrassed by this guy's behavior. In Surah Baqarah we are told that his is one of the worst types of dhulm a person can do - make the masjid unwelcoming for worshippers. It's a beautiful spacious mosque. It's a bit of a drive from Katy for me but I'll go any chance I have.

Good luck ever getting out of the parking lot within 30minutes maybe even longer. They really didn't anticipate the problem with having like 4 gates that lead to a one lane road. read more

Well i went to this masjid and it was my husband and i first time being there and a man came from the outside and told me i had to sit on the women side and he was rude in how he talk to me and i told him i was waiting for my husband at the door and so he tries to come into my face telling me well just go outside and was trying to open the door for me to leave and so my husband had to come and see what the problem was and we left i guess if your not an arab or a white muslim they try to talk to like your dirt well i got news dor him im indian but that beside the point i felt hurt behind this whole situation read more

Awesome Masjid! Prayer hall is SUPER clean and comfortable. I subtracted 2 stars because the current management has really let the other parts of the Masjid go. When it was first built the fountains were working all the way from the men's entrance to the womens entrance; the water was a clean blue (not the dark green algae filled water it is now) and the Wadu area's were always impeccable. Now days, if I need to perform Wadu or even wash my hands; I hold my breath when walking into the bathroom bc it always stinks so bad. Finally, the Shoe rack room, urgently needs cleaning and ventilation. read more
