Not a community vibe at all. In fact, it's quite Unwelcoming. As a beginner, I purchased yarn from their store & was told to feel free to contact them with questions while knitting my sweater. However, when I called them with a simple question, I was referred to take a private class, rather than giving me a chance to trouble shoot with them on the phone. I did not wish to spend money on a private class when my question could be resolved thru a chat. Earlier this week, I dropped by the store and the woman working there was unapproachable & insists that she can only answer questions by appointment. As such, despite it being a storefront with regular hours Monday to Sunday, they operate by "appointment only" if you have a question. In contrast, I had a very positive & pleasant experience calling another local knitting store today & my question was resolved in a few minutes by a kind person. I would not recommend knit-o-matic.

I just want to add that I support the owner's right to not have photos or filming of merchandise in the store. It was his unfriendly abrupt demeaner that made me leave this review. She wen tom to say so why are you coming out for one sheet of vinyl. During an economic time like this should it really matter if I'm ordering one thing or ten? So I argued with her for some time and finally hung up the phone and decided to write to head office. After nearly two weeks I got a response advising that someone would contact me from the store (pointless as who I was complaining about). Today I received a call from the same LESLIE pretending she never spoke to me prior (even when I asked) until I said wasn't it you who I spoke to. She knew she got caught in a lie and decided to try and back out of it. She was unprofessional and very ignorant. I am beyond disgusted that this store which I spent thousands of dollars in would treat their customers like this. OH to top it off when I asked who the manager was she said someone else's name, wow michaels this was more than disappointing. If I could rate them less I would for the unprofessional and lacklustre customer service the manager who lied to me gave. The sales representative at the store was extremely helpful and patient as she assisted us and was able to at the same time effectively assist other customers at the cash. Even though, she was the only sales person in the store and it was close to closing time she provided us with excellent customer service and we ended up leaving with a lot of product and a lot of good future gift ideas. Based on our experience we will gladly be going back to the store for future purchases. The representative that helped us said her name is "Farangis". I really hope that this message gets forwarded to the store manager and perhaps she could get some recognition. Being in sales myself, I would feel honored and safe knowing that an employee such as Farangis was working with and for me. Great experience.........
